Kaistern frowned slightly, straining his ears to no avail. "...Sorry, but I really don't hear anything..."

 

[M3Gnificent]

"Really? Not at all? You don't hear a..." Ophelia then went on to hum the tune she apparently heard, which was just as eery as it was lovely. If one looked carefully at the plant life around it seemed to be slowly growing. Not only that, but they all seemed to be gradually moving towards Ophelia as she hummed her tune. Her eyes were closed, though, so she saw nothing.

"Ophelia..." Kaistern grew a tad worried as he looked around at the shifting plant masses and gently shook her shoulder for her to see.

 

[M3Gnificent]

Ophelia's eyes snapped open, as if she were just waking up from a trance and she looked around. She saw nothing wrong with the scene before her. With a grin she said in a bubbly tone of voice, "The trees came closer~ Don't know why they would, though. Or why they're surrounded with that glowy stuff." Again, Kaistern would see no such thing. More than just her looks were altered it seemed!

Kaistern's eyebrows shot up. Maybe doing research on....just what she'd become would've been a good idea. "Are you...feeling alright?" he asked putting a hand to her forehead, wondering if she was just seeing things or if that was part of her new species.

 

[M3Gnificent]

"I'm feeling just great~" Ophelia let out a small giggle before catching on to Kaistern's worry. "What is the matter? Did I say something weird?"

 

[Zelly-fangirl]

"Actually, yes; there is no pretty little tune to be heard, and I assure you that nothing is glowing." Kaistern said simply.

 

[M3Gnificent]

"You don't hear or see them? Not at all? My, I have to wonder if you're okay in that case." Ophelia looked genuinely worried about Kaistern, which made the issue of her altered perceptions all the more disturbing.

 

[Zelly-fangirl]

"...I think we should have the doctors have a look at you." Kaistern stood up, taking Ophelia's hand to help her to her feet.

 

[M3Gnificent]

"Are you certain? I feel perfectly fine..." Ophelia sounded uncertain, but nevertheless, she would be compliant. She stepped out of the stream and kept hold of Kaistern's hand.

 

[Zelly-fangirl]

"It's probably nothing of course, just part of your transformation before, but better safe than sorry." Kaistern held her hand all the way back to the castle where he took her straight to the castle's doctor. Gods he hoped it wasn't some new health problem for them to worry about.

 

[M3Gnificent]

The doctors were quick to say that this was all perfectly natural and healthy...for a Spriggan. They explained that the ritual they'd found was similar to what ancient warlocks used to become liches - except instead of a lich the spell transformed Ophelia into a nature fey. Fey, in this universe, were never naturally born. In order to reproduce, most fey either had to use a reproduction spell to create a baby carbon-copy of themselves or they had to be transformed from a previously low-key or completely non-magical species. In Ophelia's case, human-to-Spriggan transformation.

After explaining what exactly had happened they assured Kaistern that the baby was safe. They also warned that she was highly likely to become more territorial around the castle and to experience far more obvious mood swings at the tip of a hat.

 

[Zelly-fangirl]

"That's a relief..." Kaistern heaved a sigh of relief as they left the doctor. "At least you and the baby are alright. That's all I need to know really. I, er, just hope you don't start lashing out at me and Balthazar later on though..."

 

[M3Gnificent]

"I'll do my best not to. If I do, though, I'll be sure to make it up to you both as best as I can." Ophelia kissed Kaistern on the lips afterwards, lingering close for several moments. "I love you~"

 

[Zelly-fangirl]

"I love you too~" Kaistern said once their lips parted. "On the plus side, no one can give you hard time about being human anymore." he said with a slight chuckle.
