Lucy watched him sleep and kissed his forehead, she slowly walked back to her bed and climbed onto it.She laid down and looked at him"Please be okay."

The day went by and Jack had stayed asleep. The next morning he woke up slowly and groaned from the pain he was feeling all over his body.

Lucy had been laying in her bed waiting for Jack to wake up.Once she heard him groan she looked over to see him awake, she quickly got off her bed and went to him"Jack, you're awake."

Jack heard her voice and turned her head to her. "L...Lucy? Is that...you?" he was able to say.

Lucy nodded softly as she held back her tears and placed a hand on his cheek"Its me dear."She said her voice breaking,

Jack smiled softly at hearing her voice and feeling her touch. He opened his eyes and only saw a bit hazy. "I'm glad you're safe. Are you alright? you didn't get any serious injuries?" he asked her.

Lucy looked down at him and shook her head"Only cuts and bruises nothing serious, but you on the other hand had to get surgery."She said as she continued ot stroke his cheek.

Jack heard her. "I did? Then I must have gotten really serious wounds," he said.

Lucy nodded"Form what I read on your chart, a few broken bones, stitches and a concussion, all from protecting me from getting those injuries."

Jack heard his diagnosis. "Man. I took a big hit," he said. "But I have no regrets in doing so to protect you."

Lucy sniffled softly and gave him a smile"I know,but you got the worst of it dear"She sighed and sat on the edge of the bed."I guess now we have to postpone everything until you are better."

Jack listened to her. "Yeah. I think we will have to," he said. "And we waited so long for the day. Did Sara or Mel come by?"

Lucy nodded softly"unless we have it with you in a wheelchair and then our Honeymoon can be some time later.'She said a she shook her head"No I haven't seen them."

Jack listened to her and thought about it. "I prefer to look better for our wedding. You deserve better than me being on a wheelchair," he said. He wondered what was up if Mel had known about it all or not. "I see. How long have I been asleep?"
