'so his name is Robert' Takamaru took a mental note Takamaru neared the older man, making a compleat stop. bending over placing his hands on his knees to catch his breath from the sprint over here. "I...I have some questions about what happened in the tunnel at the dream yard last night, Do you mind?" asked the out of breath Takamaru

Robert shrugged a bit to the boy's question. "The coach won't be here for another fifteen minutes. Plus I promised my Gardevoir a massage after our win. Sure, I don't mind." Robert spoke to the boy as he took a seat on the couch. Garnet and Freya leaned up against the wall as Beatrix sat on Robert's lap. Robert positioned his hands on the Gardevoir's shoulders and began using his thumbs in firm, slow circles on either side of the Pokemon's upper spine. At the very least he could give his Gardevoir a nice full back massage while answering the kid's questions.

Relying on Petilil's speed... Wayne looked at his pokémon carefully. Yeah. They could do it. He grinned and began going over more strategy ideas with Henrietta. Thinking up situations and plans to counter them.
Not to mention practice. The pokémon would have to grasp their form in order to use it effectively. Luckily with both trainers' burning wills reaching the poképair, the training went by quickly.
And Wayne made sure that Petilil stopped her finisher from blowing up.
((Summary mode was agreed upon. Just to hurry things along a bit))

Rule number three, never let anything put out the passion of your soul.
The doors to the gym burst open with a kick. The gym, which had been previously assaulted by an manifested and sentient form of lard as well as a demonic, purple fire breathing Absol, had become prepared for such outbursts. However, nothing could prepare them for what came next.
The police, having left after finishing with Chili, were gone. This left the gym leaders only the options of serving and battling.
In the doorway stood the duo. Or Henrietta hoped that Wayne was beside her. After all, they'd planned for this and if she was, in the end, on her own then she was totally being set up for the biggest embarrassment of her life.
"Striaton gym!" Henrietta called, her face already red with embarrassment, "we challenge you to a gym battle, two on two!" If it followed what they'd practiced then Wayne -should- be right beside her, saying the same thing, at the same time, like a well coordinated team.

He did, and he stepped forward. Just as planned.
"I understand if you're afraid! But know this - if you back down then... then we're totally gonna call you stupid and stuff!"
Wayne paused and turned over to Henrietta, shrugging, "I forgot my lines."

A dual challenge? You mean, two opponents at once? Well, this was new. Normally, to settle who was the best they'd have to battle, the three brothers. However, what had been proposed before them allowed them to show, in terms of skill, who was the best by who could dispatch of the opponents the most efficiently.
Cress smiled politely and said, "we accept." There was no other option. They had to kick some a**, or Cress did to prove he was better than Chili, the man who had gotten way too many wins the last three days. Or technical wins, as he still gave out badges.
Weirdo.

"Oh MAN! I am SO fired up!" Chili roared, leaping onto a table and practically breathing fire. "A double battle! YEAH! And against my student!"
He threw a finger towards Henrietta, "You! You're my student!"
And everyone in the restaurant would turn their heads to look at the girl. If you read too far into it, you might come to believe that Chili was actually a masterful strategist who played his opponents' personality flaws against them while apparently being unaware of the result of his actions. But he was probably just a dumb jerk.
"This way! We're gonna blaze that arena! Yeaaaaah!"
And Chili became the first to enter the battleground, looking as excited as ever.

She had prepared for all eyes to be on herself. Or rather, she'd told herself that. Once everyone was murmuring jealous remarks of her being the student of the oh so sexy Chili, she sank back.
"H-h-h-hum." She looked at Wayne and then at the arena. There was no point in waiting around. Henrietta went to the arena, taking her side on it and she released Melty, prepared for battle.

Cress and Chili. Just as they'd expected. This is what the two trainers had prepared for, to beat the Gym Leaders that had defeated them both in the past. Wayne, in position, took Henrietta's hand next to him. He looked at her and smirked.
"We got this," he said, heart pounding with pre-match nerves, "Just keep your cool. This is for the badge."
With that, the trainer let Henrietta go, reaching into his pocket for Petilil's pokéball. Swiping his arm sideways, the ball was thrown and Petilil manifested in the arena.
[O-okay! L-let's do this, M-Melty!]

Cress had taken his position in the arena and was looking over the screen before him. What sort of environment to make? Hrm, he didn't know. With a shrug, he took the Pokeball that emerged and released Panpour. "Chili, any ideas on the environment?" he asked.

"Hell yeah! Let's make magma!" Chili roared, "Computer! Special Desolation Zone!"
And with that, the arena would shift into a ruined land of black scarred rock, lifeless and empty. There would be the occasional boulder, admittedly, but dotted about and dead-looking. It made you think of the end of the world. Presumably, the challenging pokémon had scurried away and back while the arena swapped around.
Then the computer scanned Henrietta and Wayne's Trainer Records. Compiling data about their number of matches won and lost against their total time as a trainer, their number of badges and type of pokémon, it selected a pokémon best suited to their level. From the metal pipe pointing out of the ground, the selected ball shot into the air and was quickly caught by Gym Leader Chili.
"Turn up the heat! Go, Pansear!" he shouted, releasing the fire monkey from its pokéball. Pansear landed in the arena, staring at its opponents with a death-like gaze.

Henrietta took comfort in Wayne's hand. Squeezing it briefly before he released and she gulped. This was it. Four Pokemon had now entered the field and it had shifted into some dead land, some post apocalyptic looking waste land.
"Melty," Henrietta said as she looked down at the fire/ghost type, "minimize."
The first order of the battle. First things first, they had to set up. Melty, complying, shortened his size so that he could fit on someone tiny's head, as a hat.

(just turned 18. fresh outta high school!)
Takamaru would sit next to Robert, a feeling of comfort over taking him. 'He feels alot like dad..' thought the nostalgic child thinking of his much older father. "well i know for a fact that you stayed behind in the tunnel. th...the one where me and some of the other trainers were forced to leave one of our Pokemon as a gambit to help re...remove the Plasma grunts" he continued, mentally kicking himself for leaving Lancer with the Musharna in the first place.
Before Tk continued on he took out Iron Hide's pokeball, releasing the large Iron pokemon. he then removed a jar of soothing wax along with a polishing rag from his back pack to which be began polishing Iron Hide's Armor "here we go buddy, haven't done this since you evolved" whispered the small boy as he began to removed the grim that was located in odd spots an Iron Hide's armor.
"But anyways, i wanted to know what happened after i left, i mean, what happened to the musharna, munna and the Pokemon that where left behind." continued Tk whilst polishing his pokemon's armor.

Robert sighed a bit as he was forced to recall what happened. "We were ambushed by a guy in a robe and some cat-like Pokemon with these long draping things from its paws. Not like I had any time to pull out a Pokedex. The Musharna was killed instantly by its Aura Sphere. I fought the guy as best I could, but I was no match. Oddest thing was though, he healed the surviving Munna. But he took the Pokeballs. He said he was going to give them to someone, wouldn't say who." Robert spoke as his hands moved down his Gardevoir's back, his palms working in a kneading, upward motion.
"After everything that happened there, I managed to track the guy down, but by that time he already passed those Pokeballs off. So, now I'm off to Nacrene City. I need to get stronger as a trainer and as a martial artist. With any luck, we may be able to find them yet." Robert explained.
