Did it work? Taylor pulled back his chain the moment Masato had recovered. He landed on the ground and turned to face the explosion of dust as Horus swooped around and hovered above his partner. Both bird and boy showed signs of strain. That was a test of their powers, and their ability to synchronize in combat. As odd as it was, this match was the first time since becoming a genin the two fought together. The results were far stronger than either anticipated. What pushed them to even greater success was their unity with Masato. Was he truly so strong as an ally. Taylor recalled when he could not tolerate the teen. What changed? Why did Masato and he do so well now? It was odd to imagine, but somehow not so strange. Somehow the universe kept putting them together, and each time gave Taylor a new outlook on him. Masato was not who he appeared to be on the surface, and after that one combo move Taylor had admiration now for him.
Of course, Nariomi got up. Taylor and Horus readied themselves for combat again when they realize the man was unarming his chakra armor. Sure enough, the two heard congratulations for their unity of force. Nariomi then also repeated a piece of knowledge that he gave Taylor back at the observation stand, which caused him to flashback to that moment. This man truly was his mentor. Horus lowered himself to the ground as he then folded his wings upon landing. Masato also seemed ready to end it, which caused Taylor to lower his head in respect. “Yes sir.” He said as he raised his head back. It was time for Taylor to truly become a shinobi of the sand.

Now that they had formally wrapped up the combat, Nari quickly set about retrieving his dai-katana. Pulling the blade from the ground he pressed his thumb to the edge of the blade causing a thin line of red to streak down its side before returning it to its scabbard with a quick flourish. "Never return a weapon to its resting place without it drawing blood. Do not draw it if you are not prepared to shed your blood and to draw that of another. Do not bluster and do not flaunt, do not boast and do not taunt."
Though as he finished speaking the announcement came over the speaker. Letting out a heavy sigh he motioned to the two,"Go investigate, I need to take a nap." Making his way over to the wall he promptly leaned up against it and closed his eyes to fall into the visions that plagued his sleep. As always that familiar fire with yet another face, another memory, he would have to wait till the eternal rest to see again.

Taylor's short, persise response was exactly what he had expected. Masato grinned slightly, excited to have completed their training. One thing that could be said, the two of them had exceeded their own expectations on teamwork. Their instructors words resonated with Masato. While he knew Nariomi's words to be wisdom, he knew fully it would be some time before he would be able to embody them.
Masato looked to Taylor, hearing the announcement ring over the PA system in the village. His expression tightened as his Sharingan deactivated. " Blondie, looks like there's work to do." Masato said as Nariomi commanded them to investigate. His grin widened, showing a determined expression. " I'll be the first of us to find the source. I'll beat it out of those punk kin" he declared, not fully knowing what a pumpkin was...he had never seen one before, much less had never heard of it. It was the middle of the desert for crying out loud.
Suddenly, Nariomi declared a need for rest. Perhaps the chakra he had spent defending against the primary lotus of Masato was too intense to be combated without some repercussion. Masato would begin searching while the master slept.

He must be either stupid or blind or both! How did Keiko LITERALLY trip and fall into a pumpkin and here he is scouring half the damn village and he can't seem to find one! They're not even trying to hide, what is wrong with him?! Storming off he headed for the next area
She was honestly beginning to lose track of where she's going and where she's been. Things were beginning to look the same as the last notable location. The dojo may be a good place to find squashed pumpkins rather than whole pumpkins. A solid exterior and probably really fun to bust open with a trained fist. Her sights were set on a whole pumpkin, however.

Taylor was ready to belt his weapon when Nariomi instructed him to draw his own blood. Apparently, one was not supposed to call upon their weapon without the intent to procure blood. Taylor never thought of it like that. The reason why he chose a chain scythe when he began his ninja career was because he could utilize his weapon without murdering or mauling his opponent. He wasn’t sure if Nariomi noticed, but none of the attacks Taylor used were designed to really hurt him. Taylor was mostly playing support during that match. If his target was to make someone bleed, then he wouldn’t be using the ninja tools in his current arsenal. With great disdain, however, his new teacher gave him an order. Taylor brought his left hand toward his right as he gave a light cut to the inside of his hand. He wiped the blood on the sand as he then used the bandage he had on his leg to shrug off the itching which came from his thigh pouch as he then used the bandage to quell the bleeding. This was going to be a long train session.
Just like that, however, the announcement went on. Nariomi gave them the order to investigate for pumpkins, while Masato expressed interest in finding them first. Taylor didn’t really care who found them first. He was, however, kind of excited to see a pumpkin again. In the moon kingdom pumpkins were a delicacy. He never had a chance to eat one, but he loved how orange they were. Taylor wasted no time as he searched for one. Horus took the skies as the two pursued the goal.

Masato appeared in a swirl of wind and sand as he landed softly before Nariomi Sensei. He was still napping peacefully after their fight, somehow. " Sensei, wake up." Masato roared. When Nariomi would awaken, Masato would be standing above him with his arms crossed. " We've located the source of the evil chakra. Turns out there are these evil orange vegetable devils called punk kins... that attract monsters. I killed mine and helped with two others...." Masato reached into his lapel and retrived his key. " This key with the ones the others have gathered lead to their boss. " Masato's grin gave away his excitement to fight such a foe that could control devils with mere vegetables filled with what looked like brain matter. He would nod towards the eternal rain forest. " Follow me, I know the way." Masato stated as he began moving towards the place given to him by defeating the creature in the hospital.
The bird descended swiftly on Nariomi's location. Off of Horus' back Taylor came. His feet hit the ground as he faced toward his teacher. The first thing he did was bow in respect. It was one thing when Nariomi was just a kind jonin. There was a need of formalities in speech, but not in action. Now that this man was his personal instructor, however, Taylor felt like he needed to show every form of respect to him. When he rose his head he spoke with purpose. "Mister Nariomi. The pumpkin threat has been handled. There were no fatalities." He said. His mind raced, however, as he thought of all that occurred in that event. He was actually Masato for a brief moment. Speaking of which, where was he? Maybe he was still recovering from the ordeal. It was a lot to go through.
