Takamaru listened silently as Robert explained what happened in the dream yard. 'So plasma DID in fact take his Pokemon, his friend....oh, they'll pay' thought a now enraged Tk. 'and to think, they preached of good intentions when they blatantly killed, not fainted but killed a wile Pokemon. what silver tongued, two handed, peta wanna be, asshats' Raged Tk deep within his mind.
"so you said your headed to Nacrene city? we...well im headed there as well, do you.. i mean, do you care if i Tag along with you?" this wasn't a question but more of a plea for Tk didn't know much of the enemies and he had a feeling that if he got into a fight he would need all the help to get his Pokemon back that he could. And plus, its always nicer to travel with others than by ones self.
Tk was now polishing the head of Iron Hide with great care and skill.

Robert shook his head. "No, I don't mind. With Team Plasma about, it's safer to travel in groups." Robert spoke as he finished massaging his Gardevoir's back. As he began to stand and move Beatrix off to the side, something else came on the news channel.
"And today, folks are lining up for the grand opening of the Masters Dojo in Nacrene City. In celebration, the owner is hosting a tournament for all to participate in. However, what sets this apart from other tournaments is that there will be no Pokemon being used in the tournament. Registration is being held today, and the battle itself will take place tomorrow, right here at the former warehouse that has been beautifully renovated for this new business. And now, a few words from the owner, John Masters."
As the man came on screen with his Blaziken and Meinshao, Robert's face went into a complete state of shock, and Freya's would follow suit. They both knew that man. That was the same man who nursed the two of them back to health all those years ago back on Iron Island, the same one who gave Robert Garnet as a Pokemon egg. "No way..." Robert spoke to himself before cracking a grin and turning to look at Freya and Garnet. "Well then, that settles it. First thing we do when we get to Nacrene is sign up for that tournament. I want to show him just how well this little kid grew up. Not to mention it'll be the first time you've met your mother, won't it Garnet?" Robert said. Garnet gave a nod and looked at the Blaziken standing next to John Masters. She was born in Robert's care, and thus never met her mother.
Once the Carriage had arrived, Tobert and his Pokemon headed to it for a nice, long ride to Nacrene.

This post was once a grand post, yes, indeed it was. Full of mystery, intrigue, romance, and action! Well...sort of. Suffice to say it was a pretty nice post with a couple flashbacks and a few other nice tings that, unfortunately, Thunderfang can't remember. What happened, you ask? Tragically hilarious story actually. When the post was almost complete, young Thunderfang had to check Serebii for a few things concerning Yamask and Munna; and then he herped when he should have derped. Firefox is a tricky little b*****d; and due to that, when he clicked out of Serebii, he did not close the tab, instead he clicked the little, red X, closing the entire page... and losing his whole post in the process; the firefox not asking if he wanted to close all tabs, and just did so of its own free will. So this post, piss-poor excuses aside, is less than a shell of its former glory.
Anyways...back to our hero at large. Having completely dropped the ball at the Dreamyard, young Avan had returned to town and requested a tent for the night; and when he awoke, later than most, he spied that Kali had already taken the liberty of leaving the tent with out his permission. She didn't go very far in all actuality. The Yamask had only phased out to get a breath of morning air. It was crisp and satisfying.
At first Avan did not wish to get up and get ready for the day, something he'd have trouble with seeing as how the Pokemon Center was blown up, as he just knew it was going to be a troublesome day. He could, so they say, feel it his bones. After all, today was his gym battle; and he wasn't looking forward to it. The second thing, was that he once again noticed his jacket was missing, leaving the boy with only a blood-stained, grey tank-top and dirty, white pants. He looked a mess. Not even a hot mess. Wrecked. And this angered him at first, that is, until remembered he had brought a few item balls containing alternate clothing. They weren't exactly what he wanted to wear; but they'd have to suffice. Changing right there in the tent, he emerged from the tent adorned in a brown jacket, fluffy, faux-pokemon fur lining the hood and neck area, and sleek, black slacks. He'd dress to impress, Cress that is. But overall, the lose of his black jacket, the best thing he had ever created, in his opinion, pissed him the ******** off.
Kali floated, waist-level, next to Avan as the two made their way to gym. Inside he returned the Yamask and asked if Cress was around, to which he was given the response that he was currently engaged in battle, and to which the option of sitting closer to watch was given. He accepted.
Taking seat, he took notice to the odd situation. A double battle seemed to be taking place. There was Cress. "Cress..." Avan mumbled. He was a nice sight so early in the morning, and beautiful as ever. Dirty thoughts tracked their way through his mind and he blushed, hiding his face, although he knew no one was paying attention to him anyways. Then next to Cress, ruining the brown-haired boy's romantic 'buzz', was red-hair, dressed the same as Cress. He must be one of the other gym leaders...not impressed.
And on the other side was a familiar face. The girl who he knew as..."that girl", seeing as how he never did get her name. And next to her was another boy. Cute, but no Cress; still, not bad looking in the least.
For the time being, Avan would watch the battle.

And for David, who had momentarily been given the option of going on with his day, there was a new surprise. The obese lad, Robby Tobb, would be behind him, munching his chips with a frown. "Hey, when are we gonna get that breakfast?"

(Yes it is. It was in the plotty stuff I had sent you earlier)
Once in the carriage, Robert sat himself sown. Garnet and Beatrix sat on either side of Robert while Freya jumped into his lap and cozied backwards against Robert's chest. Robert wrapped his arms around Freya loosely. He never suspected the guy to have been a martial artist, but Robert was only a little child when it all happened. But still, there was more to joining the tournament than meeting on old friend. He wanted to get stronger as a martial artist, so that he could protect others. He had failed to prevent those Pokemon from being stolen and was too late in tracking the man down to retrieve them. He wasn't going to fail a third time.

Takamaru, being the socially awkward child that he is, followed Robert with out a word after putting away the polishing products within his bag. he would sit down in the seat directly in front of the older trainer, his loyal Lairon marching right with him, taking a seat in front of his trainer at his feet. 'he really loves his pokemon...' thought the small child as he reached down to scratch Iron Hide under his armor, the Iron Pokemon throughouly enjoyed this act.
"so...about this tounry, im thinking im going to enter as well..." he said in an attempt to make conversation with Robert. The thought of his Pokemon in team plasma's clutches still weighing heavily on his mind.

Robert looked up at the kid. "You sure about that? It's not like a Pokemon battle, though I can guarantee it's the best way for anyone to understand what their Pokemon go through when they battle. It's your choice, but just understand the risks before you do." Robert replied in response. "You'll most likely get hurt. Not saying if you'll win or lose, but these aren't painless battles. But if you can understand what your Pokemon go through on that level when they battle, it'll make you a better trainer because you'll better understand their limits, what they go through when they give and receive damage. You'll come to appreciate your Pokemon that much more." Robert explained.
At least that was how he saw it. That was what he learned when Maylene took him in and trained him in the martial arts, along with many other things. Her rough, strict training taught him much about life, about battles and about Pokemon. Perhaps that was one of the reasons why he never caught Pokemon the same way many other trainers did. Throwing a Pokeball at a weakened Pokemon seemed cheap to him. As he did with Beatrix, even after his battle with her, all he did was use a potion to heal her, set a ball down and explained to Beatrix what it meant to join him, both the positives and the negatives, and he let her make her own choice.

"...Yea, im sure. The reason my Pokemon got so beat up in the dream yard was because im an incompetent Trainer" replied Tk. "more though, if i ever have to face Team plasma fist to fist again i gotta be stronger for the next time. that is, if i want to get my Pokemon back and protect them from future incidents like such..." continued the child, taking a deep breath. "and if this helps me better understand my partners then that just makes this all the more worth doing."
"but what about you? why are you taking place in the tournament? you seem to know the man hosting it.." asked Tk, refereeing to the facial expression Robert made when he seen the Man come upon the screen and announce the tournament.

Robert shrugged a bit. "Several reasons. The first was that I failed to protect everyone's Pokemon. That robed guy was a martial artist, and my skill wasn't enough to stop him. Also, that man, the one hosting the tournament, he saved my life back when I was a kid. Freya here was just a wild Riolu on Iron Island that I'd watch when I had nothing to do, and occasionally I'd play with her after she decided to trust me. But one day she got assaulted by some Geodudes over a berry. They were pelting her with stones. She looked like she was about to bite it, so I jumped in and used my body as a shield. And before I passed out, he came and dealt with the Geodudes. He nursed me and Freya here back to health and gave me Garnet here as a Pokemon egg." he spoke before motioning over to his Combusken. "I want to show him how strong I've become." he explained before glancing out the window.
"However, there's also the possibility that that robed guy will be there too. If he is, I'm going to make him talk, and I will show him my full strength. No darkness to hinder my sight, no fatigue to make my moves sloppy, and no need to worry about him swiping my Pokemon if he knocks me out. Not that my Pokemon would let him. They'd pry assault him with everything they had if he tried to steal them." Robert spoke. He gave a bit of a sigh. "Still, I should have taken those Pokeballs and put them in my backpack instead of letting them lay with the Munna. But hindsight is always 20/20." Robert replied.

"And now for the moment we've been waiting for!" Wayne threw his hand forward, "Let's start this off with a Sunny Day!"
Petilil raced forward, gathering power from deep within. She span, running a circle and launching the ball of light high into the air. As soon as it manifested her speed increased and she completed her run-around, heading towards Melty as he finished his minimise - this was just as they practised.
She didn't need to say it, but yelling built the frame of mind. The rush. [Jump on!]
And when Melty hopped atop her head, hanging on, Petilil would keep moving, utilising the speed boost that Chlorophyll afforded to make herself a hard target to hit.

An increase in power for one and speed for the other. Cress was impressed by the help it gave both of them. Calmly, he said, "Work Up." Panpour would immediately begin the monkey-like actions as he gained in power. Cress, wearing a relaxed smile, continued to watch the battle as he began. It would seem, he thought, that the battle would have to end in a single blow if he were to make sure they couldn't fully utilize Sunny Day.

Sunny Day? Sunny Day?!
"I am SO fired up!" Chili roared, Pansear not budging but to blink. As the monkey's eyelids went up, it shot forward, leaping into the air.
"Incinerate!" Chili roared and the boosted flame attack would shoot out far and wide, creating a triangle of fire that swept across the floor of the rocky arena. Where it struck would begin to sizzle as it passed, the wave of flame heading towards Petilil and Melty.
It would basically aim to turn the floor beneath them into fire, ruining their manoeuver before it could begin.

Suspended in the air, it made the enemy the perfect target. Henrietta bit her lip as she thought over the potential strategies. She could take out the flame burst, but that would ruin the chance of hitting the Pansear, a chance they couldn't pass up with his increased power.
No, she would have to rely on Petilil's speed for this one. Her eyes moved to glance at Wayne, hoping he had a strategy as she said, "Scary Blast!"
There came Night Shade, manifesting in the form of Pansear's greatest fear as it made to crash into him before he could land on the ground.

"Mega Drain!" Wayne commanded. Petilil sent out the swirling mass of green energy to strike hard into the flame. As it spun, the flames would be caught inside Mega Drain, their power quenched.
"Detonate!" came the second order and the technique was completed - Mega Drain exploded outward, scattering the fire away from the two pokémon. Petilil winced as she passed over the heated rock floor. It hurt. Just not as badly as fire.
"Now Growth!" Wayne's last command had Petilil charge her power up. Thanks to the intense light of Sunny Day, her attack and special attack boosted two stages each. Wayne's face settled with a smirk. Setting up early was a crucial tactic and theirs was going off fine.
