Sunny Day was gone now. Rockets were raining from the heavens and Petilil was god damn screwed. This was the worst possible scenario. Separated and targeted by their specific type enemies. Still, there was something that could be done here.
"Minimize!" Henrietta called. She could feel herself shaking. Fear? Anxiety? Excitement? No, a combination of the three. The battle was intense, amazing, powerful. ******** rocks slammed down, hard, the arena impaled by the powerful stone pieces and they stuck, like a monument. Cress smiled. It was over.
Then a purple gas seeped through the gaps and ignired, blowing the rocks away. One headed straight back toward Panpour and one toward Panasear because of some miracle placement.
In the center stood a microscopic Melty with a squeaky voice, [******** YOU!]

Takamaru sat and listened to Roberts story until the older man fell silent. "sound like you had a rough child hood. but you said Iron Island right? that's near canalve, my Dads brother Runs the gym out there. Oh, and by the way, i never properly introduce myself, My names is Takamaru Takashi, im from Olivine city, Jhoto." said the small trainer making idle conversation.
"so i couldn't help but notice, your Lucario, Freya correct? has a magnificent coat and ever sparkling Iron spikes. How does one keep her in such good condition, it cant be easy; raising Steel types never is" continued Tk motiong to the rather large Iron pokemon next to his feet (Iron Hide). truth be told, at the mention of the Robed man whom swiped his Pokemon partner he wanted to delve right into that conversation, but his rather short attention span brought him fom one Topic to another and to another. Hell, Tk was a natural talker, he could keep a conversation going for ever if he could.

Robert smiled. "Pleasure. My name's Robert. My mother runs the hotspring resort on Iron Island." Robert said before took out a food tin from his backpack. "A little something I learned from a breeder I battled once. Every Pokemon has specific dietary needs, and certain foods can help bring out a Pokemon's natural sheen as well as help them develop physically. I always make her food with herbs and berries, along with flour and some dried beef. Of course during times when we run out of the food I make and don't have the cash or the ingredients, I just make berry stews with herbs and berries from the surrounding area." Robert replied.
"Not to mention I take care to brush her fur at least once a day to prevent matting and wash her whenever we stay at a Pokemon Center or hotel. I also use a protective polish to prevent oxidization. And I keep all of my Pokemon's muscles nice and relaxed after a hard battle or day of training with a massage." Robert explained in rather great detail.

And then a second shirt was lost! Once again, the fangirlish screams of the battles onlookers filled the room. Avan, contradicting what he said before, was indeed impressed by Chili's hot bod. Get it? 'Cause he's a fire type gym leader? Forget it. Anyways, the battle had become a buffet of manliness; and all that was left was the other male trainer to lose his shirt in all the excitement. Well, Avan could only wish.

((Goddamn it, Ren))
Wayne shouted in desperation now. He'd been confident at the start, but Petilil was in a bad way. Her opponents were much more experienced that they were, and they'd broken pretty much the only real strategy they'd come up with.
s**t.
s**t!
As he saw Pansear go in with Fire Blast, the flames brewing at the edges of the monkey's mouth, Wayne's eyes shot wide open and he tried calling out his command. A last resort, really.
But something strange happened. He wanted to call out "Sunny Day" but to his astonishment, the bulb pokémon was already doing it. Like, somehow, in that split second of desperation, Petilil had understood exactly what Wayne was planning without needing to hear it. In the moment that Fire Blast was launched, Petilil produced a ball of light between herself and Pansear.
The result was, when Pansear's flame struck the ball, Sunny Day took on the fire and grew massive and bright for a moment. Then it broke and the flames shot through.
But in that moment, where Sunny Day became huge, brilliant, Petilil's Chlorophyll kicked in on overdrive. She shot, with a sudden burst of speed, right out of Fire Blast's path, racing back towards Panpour and Melty.
Even with the brief Sunny Day destroyed, the distance she'd made allowed the pokémon a decent lead on the monkey, even if she was only roughly half his speed. And in that time she utilised "Synthesis!" to help restore the damage she'd taken, bringing Petilil almost back to full health.
"We can't give up yet," Wayne said quickly, pulling off his shirt, "Let's do this HENRIETTAAAA!"

"Get around it!" demanded Cress but to no avail. See, Panpour was already pushing the bounds of god damn reality itself after standing up from the dual powered up super effective attacks. Now, he didn't have the energy to dodge the rock. Maybe, like, break it in two with a well placed Rock Smash, but the end result was that he was smashed by it and fainted.
Cress, who merely basked in the heat of the arena, his skin glistening with sweat because of the heat produced by three holes in the ground that now leaked lava like wounds pouring blood, smiled. "Don't lose faith, Chili. Even if they defeated the best, you still might have a chance," taunted Cress.

And there it was! Avan, almost, lost it. He slammed both his hands on the table, "Hot damn!" His excitement was masked, as screams once again were heard; only not that many, considering the other boy wasn't one of the gym leaders. Avan stared on intently as the battle was surely reaching it's climactic end. His eyes couldn't stay on one person for a sustained amount of time; person, not pokemon. He should have been watching the actual battle.

"You beat the rest, now get ready for the best!" Chili roared, his awesome comment overshadowing Cress' stupid one. They'd defeated one Gym Leader, but this was a double battle - it wasn't over until one side was completely out of it.
And that's just what Chili intended to make happen.
"Solar Beam!" he commanded as Pansear dodged the rock that he had loads of warning to avoid, skidding sideways against the ground and staring at his two foes all the while.
With Sunny Day gone, Pansear would have to take a few seconds to charge the technique. Seconds where it was doubtful that either Melty or Petilil's attacks could reach him. But when he released it, Pansear would obliterate the arena. It'd be like a hot knife through butter, but basically Pansear would send a huge wide beam of power down the middle of the arena, which would disintegrate the thin layer of rock covering the lava vat.
The force would split the half of the arena that Petilil and Melty were on into two. The centre line would be gone, with only a few islands of rock left to stand on, many of which would be sinking into the lava. But thanks to the force of the blast, even the rock leading up to the edges would begin to crack and split into more islands. But basically, in the few seconds after the attack, the side of the arena that had once been a safe haven would become a hell on very thin earth.
Thanks to convection, it'd be unlikely that Petilil could even jump over the lava without bursting into flame. And Melty? Well he would've been close to the middle of the Solar Beam blast - even if the attack itself wasn't very effective, we'd see how long wax can last in lava.
And Pansear kept his side of the arena more or less untouched. Because yay.

This was the end. Melty charged into the fray as the charge for Solar Beam began. He'd create a Sunny Day and suspend it while moving, straining the entire time. First and foremost, the sunny day being close and attached to his own headflame would mean that the waves would reach Petilil long before they reached Pansear. Secondly, the solar beam would annihilate any waves that might get close to Pansear, meaning Petilil was the only recipitent of the speed boost.
[GRAB ME!] shouted Melty as he leaped for Petilil as the blast came from behind her. Oh, this would ******** hurt, but they till had one chance.
"One last chance," Henrietta whispered, a sudden nose bleed going unnoticed as she grabbed Wayne's hand quickly. Comfort, confidence, power and will. That's what that hand holding was a platform for. A place so stand while they moved mountains.

Petilil shot beneath Melty as he generated solar power, like a miniature sadistic battery, and he latched onto her tight. It was as if everything before they connected was in slow motion; the run, the shout, the blast. And as soon as Melty grabbed Petilil's head, they sped up sharply, speeding out of the way of the rushing energy beam.
She shot to the side, riding the edge of the arena and away from the Solar Beam as it vaporised portions of the arena at a time. But it was now or never. Pansear was hardly damaged but they could finish it off with a strong enough onslaught.
"Growth!" Wayne commanded and Petilil would begin absorbing Melty's solar power to force her powers to grow, sending her power sky-rocketing. Then without missing a beat, Wayne yelled, "Solar Beam!"
And Petilil would blast a super high powered Solar Beam towards Pansear with an equivalent damage force to a super effective attack.
***
Pansear realised that his foes had made an escape but it didn't matter. Bracing himself, he'd twist his Solar Beam around. The spectators were saved from being blasted by the glass wall's force generation barrier. To them it'd be like water stopping against the side of a fish tank - right there but untouchable. Like the brothers' pecs.
The Solar Beam chased Petilil and Melty, vaporising the arena behind them. At this point a good third of the arena was lava and the temperature went through the roof. Just as the attack ended, Petilil's begun. Chili grinned and ordered, "Double Team!"
Which created a row of copies to Pansear's left and right. If one had the time they'd be able to tell which was real and which was the fake; but in the heat of battle? In split seconds? Not gonna happen.

The temperature inside of the glass dome was unbearable. Henrietta, with her free hand, tugged at the collar of her shirt, letting air pour downward. However, she herself could not tear her own shirt off. Half because she wasn't that strong, half because people were present. Still, though, she was sticky with sweat and her skin glistened with it.
The Double Team was used and while people might not be able to see it, if they were moving, to the observers, the ones who job it was to pay attention, there was the possibility of seeing it. Telling which one.
That person wasn't Henrietta. Anytime she wasn't focused on watching the battle in short detail, her mind drifted to other things, almost overwhelmed by the sheer sexiness in the arena, as if it were some sort of trick, like a technique that made the gym leaders even more attractive than they should have been.
With her hand that she'd used to seize Wayne's, she'd squeeze it and watch as the split seconds went by, as the climax happened before them.
"Come on," her voice shook, "Melty..."
In the high speed movements, Melty was putting his everything into stability. Strained and giving off his energies to Petilil, it was a draining feat. This technique was far from being used actively in combat all the time, from the beginning of a match to the end, but right now, in the seconds of the coming end, it was enough.

"There!" Wayne roared, pointing out the real Pansear with his free hand. Petilil's Solar Beam shot out to hit the fire monkey.
"Again!" The trainer roared. Petilil had shot away after firing her blast and appeared in the air above Pansear, aiming another down on him. She'd fire as soon as her first move finished, aimed to swamp Pansear with power.
If possible to sink him into the lava vat.
***
Pansear countered the first beam with a "Fire Blast!"
His move the stronger, but only by slight, Pansear wore Solar Beam away, reducing it to nothing as his flames burned themselves out. He panted, the effort getting on top of him for a second.
Then as he got his bearings, Petilil was attacking again, not having to delay or charge thanks to Melty. This strike came from above and caught him flat footed.
Pansear launched "Another!" and the fire struck the solar, burning into it as the heavy strike weighed down upon the monkey. He fought against the hit, gritting his teeth hard, the flames being the only thing separating his struggling paws from the obliterating attack.
Then he broke the barrier. A ring of blue shone around Pansear's eyes. He utilised his aura to add his own native Fire Type Aura to Fire Blast, massively boosting its firepower with willpower.
It forced Solar Beam back, eventually destroying it. A star of fire rising to the ceiling and exploding. If Petilil and Melty hadn't moved then they'd be in range of this ball of fire.
Pansear's feet had ground against the rock, scarring it. He breathed heavily. Unlike his more experienced brethren, it was a rare day that Pansear had to utilise his Aura - it took a lot out of him.

All of her training had paid off, right? All of her battles, everything, leading up to this. The single most intense moment in her life. Taking in a deep breath, she couldn't help it. Lost in the passion of the battle, in her love for her Pokemon, in her feelings and desire to win.
"GOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" screamed Henrietta, the effort causing her to dip forward slightly as the O dragged on.
Melty, meanwhile, knew what was coming. He smirked. [All up to you, kid.] The final words he could leave Petilil. What power he had left, what he could do those moments suspended in the air, those seconds. The Sunny Day shifted with all of his effort, blocking the Fire Blast. The force of it rocked it backward, over Petilil's head and carrying Melty skyward.
For just a brief moment the two were one, if it was like before Petilil might find herself that temporary extra boost. However, it would last only a moment, only enough time for, if she utilized it, one last attack.
Then, in the explosion of Pansear's overwhelming power, the Sunny Day exploded, taking Melty with it.

This was it, the moment of power. Wayne brought his hands up into fists, Henrietta's with them if she was still attached. His face held a look of intense determination as Melty's Sunny Day grew massive.
Petilil felt it. Her trainer's will, Melty's will, Henrietta's. For that moment, she felt everything around her. The power that flowed into her from the boosted Sunny Day. It was godlike. Supreme.
"Goooooooooorrrrrraaaaaarrrrrrrrgggggggghhhhhhh!] trainer and pokémon roared, the power boost manifesting gargantuan. For a split second it appeared as if a ring of blue sparked around both Wayne and Petilil's eyes.
Where Solar Beam began as a small ball of power, which then shot out at the foe in a massive beam, this one began as a ball that dwarfed its owner many times over. So just imagine how big the blast must be.
Petilil released it down at Pansear, who should be exhausted from the last two counters it made.
Solar Beam drowned out the arena in bright light. Shockwaves of force blowing out the windows, their barriers not enough to prevent their destruction. Though as a precaution, no spectators were allowed close enough to be struck by shards anyway.
***
Pansear watched as Petilil's blast came to a head. It was launched down at him. The last one had taken all his strength to counter. He'd even needed to utilise Aura, which was a huge hit to his willpower.
But he wasn't going to go down just yet.
Not a chance.
Fire Blast brimmed his mouth and he shot it out, arms up to prepa--
"Pansear!" Chili yelled in genuine shock, his monkey overwhelmed, engulfed by the attack, vanishing amidst the light that Chili had to shield his eyes from. No. No way, "Rargh!" He threw his pokéball forward, sending the recall beam directly into the heart of the blast and pulling Pansear back.
He breathed heavily, waiting for the attack to clear. They'd lost.
