History: Kiij was once the much beloved daughter of a kirin stallion and a regular mare. She was raised in a large, loving herd in the tip of the mountains that brush the northern badlands. With water and food scarce cooperation became key to survival in the herd leading them to be quite peaceful. Kiij had three younger siblings, two sisters and a brother, that she would die for and in a way, she did just that.
When illness spread through the herd all three of Kiij's siblings were struck down along with several healers. Fearful for their well being Kiij set out to find help, what she found was Oyohusa. He promised her great power and strength enough to save her family. What he gave her was corpse powder. The curse blazed through her like wildfire but even as she gutted the large feline that would become her pelt she remembered her family, though not as she once did. She staggered around in a haze for several days making her way home drawn by instinct alone. She made it to the outskirts at sunset and as she looked upon her old friends and family she knew exactly why they were still in her thoughts.
She was meant to slay them and claim this land as her own.
Enduring her first, painful transformation, Kiij sneaked back to her siblings. She found them, still ill, still dying, and began her massacre there. She killed them silently and then moved on to every other victim of the illness she could reach putting them out of their misery as quietly as she had her sisters and brother. She was not noticed for the better part of an hour and once she was panic gripped the herd. Most ran and only a few stayed to try and stop the beast.
By dawn none of Kiij's old herd remained in the area. They had either fallen to her claws or fled for their lives. She did not escape uninjured but in time she healed and built herself a large bone pile from the remains of her herd mates' bodies. She has made that structure the center of her territory and none have yet found the worth in trekking across the barren landscape to face the beast and reclaim their home.
Personality: Kiij is not a mindless beast but she is extraordinarily territorial. Those that wander into her home risk their lives doing so. On a good day she will give warning and give a person a chance to leave. On a bad day she'll say nothing, she will simply attack. On her best days, if she is well fed, she might even chat for a while before chasing a person off. While she spends most of her time in feline form lounging in the shade of her pillar of bones she will also occasionally wander the borders of her land. A soquili is least likely to meet her claws if it encounters her so far away from her pillar.
