It was instantaneous as the kick made contact with Spikes undefended skull. there was a loud 'smack' as the kick made contact with Spikes Body. The force of the kick sent Spike hurtling towards the earth unconsciously.
though just before impact Spike regained consciousness from his momentary laps. pushing his claws and body into an Arrowhead form he stuck the earth but disappeared under it using 'Dig'
"Nice going spike..." Takamaru whispered after a sigh of relief 'Wayne's alot whole lot tougher than i first thought.... but were not out of tricks just yet' he thought watching the ground.
After watching Hitmonlee Rate of descent and predicting the point on which it would land Takamaru Yelled his command, "Spike, 9 degrees north then 'rapid spin' while your under ground!" if all goes correctly then just as Hitmonlee's lands the ground under him will collapse thus removing his footing at which time Spike will proceed to use 'metal claw'

"Be on guard," Wayne shouted. He'd seen Dig attacks before. The pokémon using the technique had an uncanny knack of knowing where the one on the surface was. Even with Iron Defense, getting kicked in the head by Hitmonlee was going to do its damage. A couple more hits should take Spike out. Providing, that is, that Hitmonlee makes them before Spike takes him out.
Hitmonlee landed, ready, just as the ground began to give way. "Catch it!" Wayne commanded and Hitmonlee turned just as Spike came at him with the Metal Claw attack. Hitmonlee's health and defenses were poor, so he couldn't afford to get hit. Luckily, his reaction speed and raw power meant that he didn't have to.
His fingers grabbed Spike's blades as they tore at him, clamping down on the flat sides and keeping the sharp edge away from slicing into his palm. His feet had already left the ground and this meant that Hitmonlee was lifted into the air. He was carried through on the swing, using Spike's strength to throw him over to the side, letting go once he was clear of the Drilbur's slashes.
"Double Kick!" Wayne yelled and Hitmonlee began his attack. As he was thrown to the side, he twisted around so that his legs were facing the opponent then shot out with his foot, aiming for the head while Spike's swing was still extended, while he was still open.
If his attack on Spike's weak spot was parried, then he'd continue to drive down with his kick and force another opening, which his second kick would take advantage of with another kick to the head. If his first kick succeeded, then Hitmonlee would abandon the second and push off, putting distance between himself and his foe, landing back on the ground. If his second kick was also parried, then he'd do his best to make this same maneuver and put distance between Spike and him.

As Henrietta turned to look back at Robby and Eunmi she found herself staring at a trainer, their eyes met. Henrietta looked away quickly.
"Hah! Too late!" the youngster shouted, "we gotta battle! It's the law!"
"H-hum! I-i.. I'm not that good." Henrietta said as she looked away.
"Scared of my awesome might?" The youngster said as he placed his hands on his hips.
"N-no, j-just surprised. Can you back up a little?"
The youngster looked at the foot space between them and shrugged, taking a step back. "Girls are weird."
"S-so we battle, h-hum?"
"Right! Go, Patrat!"
"H-hum, Socant, you're up."
And the raging battle began!
Socant vs. Patrap, Socant would move into the tall grass.
And after some time searching, Patrap looked around.
"Can't find it, huh?" the youngster said.
"H-hum, good Socant," Socant said.
"Good?" The youngster cocked a brow.
"Thunder Wave and Leech Life!"
And after the Patrat struggled and failed to make it, he fainted.
"Alright!" Henrietta said and Socant returned to her via walking, climbing up her shoe, stocking, skirt and finally reaching her fingers.
"Hey! What the hell!?"
"H-hum?" Henrietta turned toward the youngster and he advanced forward angrily.
"Have you ever thought of taking it easy?"
"N-no, I th-

As the two backed up they'd pass some trees.
"You stupid trainer! Using that powerful Pokemon against my poor Patty!"

And Henrietta lost her footing, falling down the ledge head first.
The youngster stared, freaked out and climbed down after her.
The youngster cursed several times. "I didn't mean it, sorry! Crap, please don't be dead!" he shouted. Having no idea about pulses, he opted to carry her.
The long way.
***
And 'soon' they arrived in Striaton, by this time Henrietta's hair was caked with blood and the right half of her face and part of her neck was covered in it.
"s**t! Someone, help, please, oh god!" shouted the youngster.

Even though he was on the very outskirts of town, the youngster's voice didn't have to travel very far to reach someone. He was fortunate that the closest person was also the most willing: a red-haired man wearing a waiter's uniform rushed over as soon as he heard the child's cries.
"What happe-Yeeeeooow! That does not look good!" he yelled and screeched to a halt. He knelt down, peering in close to inspect Henrietta's wounds, lifting the hair that wasn't plastered with blood away from her face, "should probably get her to a doctor, but the pokémon center ain't too far away either. I can get her there in no time at all."
The young man stood up, putting a thumb to his chest proudly, "the name's Chili, there's nothing to worry about once I'm on the case. Give the girl to me and I'll blaze a trail to the pokémon center!"
((Yo, Attention: NPC characters such as Gym Leaders, N and others canon to the games will be played by either Artemis Wolfe, Jump Einatz, Troperopius or myself. Minor NPCs such as Pokémon Center nurses and random trainers can be played by anybody.
We'll also be conducting Gym Battles, so try to make your challenge around a time where you'll be online for an extended period of time))

"When she wakes up tell her I'm sorry!"

"No problem! I'm all fired up for this!" Chili said quickly, slinging Henrietta's unconscious body over his shoulders in a fireman's lift, "You know what all the girls say: I'm the fastest Gym Leader in Striaton!"
With that, Chili raced off to the pokémon center. He knew where it was, just like he knew where the back of his hand was. As he ran, he delved into thicker masses of people; more heads turned but he didn't so much as glance at them. He wasted no time and burned through the city streets, finally arriving at the red roofed pokémon hospital.
--
While you'd think that the Pokémon Centers would be strict about only healing pokémon, they recognised an emergency when they saw them and weren't so heartless as to turn it away. The Center's Audino was able to tend to Henrietta's wounds, curling bandages over them after they were disinfected. Then it found a free bed for Henrietta to rest in until she woke up.
She was set up in her own small room with an open window where light streamed through, the curtains lifting and flowing in the pleasant breeze. To pass the time, Chili inspected her pokémon by peering through the red lids of their balls. He was reasonably famous around Striaton, especially in the pokémon circles. When he was asked what had happened and he said he didn't know, the matter wasn't pressed.
Chili paused when he found Darumi. Grinning at the fire type, he decided to let it out.

((Artemis' internet is down, she asked me to post for her, so...))
Roast went up and, while Dali didn't catch it, Eunmi did.
"Stab upward!" Eunmi shouted and Dali complied, raising the Shell Blade upward as Roast went over. Now, Dali took the water gun to the face but, due to the difference in base damage, it was more likely that the Ducklett walked away with more injury.
***
((Back to Henrietta.))
Darumi was out with a yawn. He looked up at Chilli and his brows burned slightly more passionately(where as before they were waning.)
"Maka!" he shouted and then he saw his trainer. Now, he didn't freak out. Instead he pointed, cause she was awake.
"Maka!"
"H-hum?" Henrietta said as she sat up with a groggy expression. And then the pain set in and she winced and touched the bandaged area of her head and winced again.
"W-what happened?" she asked no one in particular and then she looked over to see Chilli, now despite likely painstakingly making his hair look like fire everyday, he was kinda cute.
"H-hum, w--who are you?" Henrietta asked as she looked out the window.

"Yeeeeooow!" Chili leapt up in surprise when Henrietta regained consciousness. He stood in front of her, hand on his hip, "You're awake! I'm a hero. Hi, I'm Chili, pleased to meet you, Henrietta. Hope you don't mind, but I took a peek at your trainer card. New kid, huh? Didn't take you long to get into trouble, did it?"
He spoke quickly, running his mouth off with the same fire that he'd dedicated himself to. Only a lot more metaphorical. Chili had dedicated himself to actual fire. It was weird but that weirdness was one of the apparent requirements for being a Gym Leader.
"Nurse says you'll be okay soon. Lost a lot of blood, head's probably in pain. Some painkillers next to your bed, so take them, err," he folded his arms and frowned to the ceiling, "oh yeah. You should leave as soon as you're feeling better, she said. And that 'this is a hospital for pokémon, not every damn kid that cracks her skull open'."

Roast did come out more injured, and that sword thing wasn't working out very well. Not for him. Beginner or no, if someone hit you with a sword, you weren't going to laugh it off. Unless you were a steel type, but those guys were just, like, unfair level in that sort of thing...
"Roast!" The obese lad's voice called as the ducklett stumbled in mid-turn to get to facing Dali before it could swing again. "Make it a sword fight! Hit 'im with yours!" It took the ducklett a moment to figure out what that meant. In ducklett's terms, that meant he should use wing attack.
Like a sword. The duck moved forward, wishing to be able to fly properly in battle since it would be able to fight more evasively. But it couldn't. It did, however, understand something about the way that 'sword' was used. Where to hit to not get hurt? Well, the wing attacks were to be aimed at the sides of the shell, to make a proper parry in the event that this did turn into a sword fight. And, well, until an opening was found, that would be where most of the attacks were aimed.

This guy was as hard to follow as Eunmi was. Henrietta replayed the words in head head.
"Trainer card.. Hum, no, it's fine."
Next, the pain killers.
She looked over to the side of her bed and took the small white cup with two pills and the other small white cup with water. Once they were both gone down her throat she looked back to the right of Chili's head.
"I'm sorry to burden you. Hum... Are you the one that brought me here?"
Had he said he had already? She couldn't remember.
"Thank you, I mean."
"Sorry."

"That's me! Your world-class hero, Chili!" he grinned proudly and pumped his fist when he said his own name, "hey, you're a trainer so you should be taking on the Gyms. Get tough and blaze a trail right up through to the Pokémon League!"

Pokedex in hand, Avan made his way back through Route 1 up to Accumula. The white Pokemon encyclopedia was sleeker than he had imagined and was impressed by the piece of technology he held in his hand. Personally though, he did not fancy the look of it. It looked like something from a show he once watched as a kid, digi-something or other. Oh well, it didn't matter as long as it worked; however, Avan was aready grim toward the new aquired Pokedex. Not being the best with technology left him behind most people; and that didn't help his next conundrum.
Another piece of technology that only baffled him more. Something the Professor had called an Xtranceiver. She called it "cross-tranceiver", much to the contrary of it's spelling and that, to Avan, was just ridiculous. He decided to pronounce the "x" as an "x". Juniper had also told him it was a sort of phone, and that the white-colored device could be used like a video-phone like the ones in the Pokemon Center. It seemed convinient, but as of that moment he had no use for it since he had no numbers other than Professor Juniper's.
It'd probably just end up in his backpack along with things he had no use for. It wasn't the cutest accessory, but it would do the job if he were to ever use it. So Avan reluctantly attached the watch-like device to his wrist. His covered wrist that is; the one under the long sleeve that adorned his left arm. If he had to wear it, at least he didn't have to look at it.
Passing through Accumula, Avan wondered what became of the two people he had met in Route 1. Robby and...that one girl. Too bad she was too nervous to tell him her name.
Upon entering Route 2, he was almost immediately assaulted by a wild Patrat; and it was then he remembered his words to Baku. It was time to feed. Avan took both Pokeballs off his belt and pressed both their buttons. In a flash of white light Kali and Baku appeared. The Yamask immediately turned around and rubbed against Avan's leg. "Kali...please." The boy laughed uncomfortably and lifted the ghost type by the mask, its meta-physical body following. The Patrat growled because it was ignored, taking a step back. Avan looked past Kali unamused. "Oh yeah...I apologize Patrat, but we aren't playing fair here. You weren't expecting 2 on 1. However, it doesn't matter. Kali, please use Astonish."
The Yamask hopped out of Avan's hands and floated quickly up to the Patrat and used Astonish. The Patrat looked at Kali confused and retaliated with a tackle which proved to be just as useless. Although the opponent's attack had no effect, Avan was still surprised their scare tactic did not work. Little to his knowledge it was due to the ghost typing of the attack that caused it to have no effect on the normal typed Patrat. Avan was never good at Pokemon types. The obvious were just that, but others he never bothered to learn.
The Patrat went into a Bite attack, but was caught off gaurd when Baku swooped in, eyes glowing, with a Hypnosis. The Munna then turned to Avan as the Patrat fell into a slumber and shot him a glance that screamed that the boy was a complete idiot. Kali rushed to Avan's side as Baku began to feast. That short lived conflict passed by in flash; but as long Baku appetite for dreams was met, all was fine and dandy.
"Sorry Kali. I don't know what went wrong there...our plan usually works."
*
After Baku finished his meal, Avan woke up the Patrat and tried to explain what had just happened; all the while using a Potion on the Scout Pokemon. He wasn't sure if his words got through, but the boy liked to think that they did as the Patrat scurried off.
*
With both Pokemon returned to their respective balls, Avan reached Striaton.
((Won't be around 3-24 for the most part. Just thought I'd catch up with the rest of y'all.))

Takamaru's frustration grew as he watched his attack be evaded again! 'can he even be beaten by us?' where his thoughts as he Began to usher his next command but it was Far too late as the attack Landed with another startling smack sending Spike hurdling to the ground, just barely clinging to consciousness. Hitmonlee pushing off and landing on the ground no doubt reading for its next attack.
Spike, after standing up and steadying himself raised his claws to continue the battle. "Spike stop! we cant win, there's no need to continue if we already know this!" Takamaru yelled Taking a few hurried step towards Spike but stopped as the small mole like pokemon turned its head ever so slightly to him, a Fire burning in its eyes, "Drill drill driiiiiil Bur~!"
At that moment Takamaru knew exactly what his pokemon was saying and thinking, 'It doesn't matter whether nor not we win or loose but how much we grow closer thought the experience'
closing his eyes and taking a deep breath Takamaru steadied himself, "your right Spike, I'm sorry for doubting you" he finished with a hint of a grin, "and besides, it was our idea to battle so guess we gotta See it through to the end right?" he asked, the question being directed towards wyane. "Now Spike, Use Dig once more! but this time don't surface but continue Making Pit falls under Hitmonlee as it lands and wait for an opening, at the first sign use your rapid spin iron defense combo!" he yelled as Spike tore its way into the earth.

The gym challenge? She'd won a single trainer battle, and lost another one. Was she ready to face a Gym?
No, she didn't feel confident in her ability to get a badge. So, she shook her head. "H-hum.. No, I don't think I could defeat the gym leader. I barely know what my own Pokemon can do," she said.
Socant, hide on the enemy and leech life until you win. Worked the second time, first time it cost her the match.
Darumi, roll out. Can't stop using it once its started, but it increases in damage.
Melty, unknown.
These were hardly gym winning strategies.
"I... need more training, I think. A lot more.."

"Are you done yet?" Wayne called over, just as Takamaru finished his commands. He met the other trainer's eyes, looking intent for a few seconds before breaking into a silly grin. At this point, if Takamaru looked over at Hitmonlee, he'd notice that the pokémon was stood holding his leg up vertical, his foot extending skyward of his own accord.
"I gave my orders too," he said as the Drilbur vanished from sight and began burrowing. Hitmonlee's stretched out leg snapped down to the ground at high speed; he brought his foot down like an axe kick, slamming it into the ground while Spike was tunneling.
The resulting shockwave would make the earth quake and collapse whatever tunnels Spike had dug out, burying it in dirt and rocks. The shockwave itself would likely do its own form of damage as Spike would be shaken and bashed against the insides of his own tunnels as they collapsed around him. Any weak points in the earth that Spike had managed to create would crumble inward, making it obvious where they were.
***
"Knowing what to do, not knowing what to do - if you care so much about that all the time you'll never light up on the battlefield!" Chili curled his fists up and held them out to the side, "Live by the seat of your pants. Your pokémon can go beyond the impossible if you believe in them!"
Chili grinned, proud of himself for what he saw as a very motivational speech.
"I light up the battlefield with fire types," he grinned, beating his chest with one fist, "if you need advice on training a fire type then I'm your guy!"
