((I was waiting for a post from Feral, but I can move things along a little to bring Sam to talk to Cider. Meandering off mid-conversation is something Sam is already stated to do. ^^" ))

ADD Guardian of Fire

As Regina had seemed to fall into her own private reverie, Samantha gave the water guardian one more hug before proceeding towards the kitchen, moving slowly with the combined stiffness of an uncomfortable night, the frostbite over her chest and arms, and just generally not being much of one to move fast after waking up.

Shuffling into the kitchen, still looking very bedraggled and wearing her monstrosity of a fuzzy bathrobe, Samantha covered her mouth with a hand as she stopped to yawn, not noticing Cider right away as she made her way to the freezer, digging around for a moment before coming out with a package of off-brand square toaster waffles, sticking one in her mouth, still frozen, as she proceeded to put another two in the toaster. Turning slowly, she came to notice Cider for the first time, giving the guardian of earth a wide smile around her waffle. "Mmmn mmmph mnnngh."

Regina

Regina didn't protest Sam wandering off like usual, instead she simply walked into the kitchen in a sort of contemplative silence. She knew she had to eat, that was a must, so she grabbed an orange and brgan to peel it in utter silence, thinking over the exchange from herself and Samantha. Hey, Mom? she asked Cider silently, using her play name for the Earth Guardian, as Daytona was 'Dad'. Do you love someone? What is love really like? She brushed back a lock of hair. I know being the Water Guardian means I should be in tune with my emotions, but I have no idea what they mean.

Cider shook her head good-naturedly as Sam
appropriated the, from her perspective, dubious
snack-food. "Don't talk with your mouth full,
Pixie-nyxie," she teased with the name she
sometimes used for the Guardian of Fire,
because of her flitting nature, her concentrated
giddiness."You'll mess up the floor, and I don't
think Regina feels like cleaning up after you,"
she continued, with a wink and a smile at
the third girl present. She had heard Regina's
distant plea, but chose to let her sort out this
conundrum for herself; no woman's definition
would ever be perfect for another's ears.

She watched the soup simmering, little bubbles
pushing through the thickness. It put her in mind
of Zoe for a moment: a little bubbly thing trying so
hard to push up and out.

It was beginning to smell very good, sending out
a sense of nutritous well-being into the room.

Sam couldn't help but giggle whenever Cider used her pet name for the fire guardian, still around a mouthful of frozen waffle. Ripping off a good bite as she remains standing next to the toaster, Samantha took her time to chew and swallow, even though the bite was probably a little larger than table manners would call for. "Okay, Cider..." She put on her best caught-in-the-cookie-jar expression with her smile as she went about finishing her waffle-cicle, this time holding a plate under her face as she does.

At some point, Sam had wandered close to Cider and the soup, leaning in closer than someone not attuned to fire should as she smelled it, giving Cider a big smile. "It smells really good! But... hey..." She stood back up, looking around as a thought manages to occur to her, lazily counting out herself... Cider... and Regina on her fingers, before looking at three fingers sticking out on her hand in concentration. "Where did everyone else go?"

Cider lightly pat-stroked the soft crown
of auburn hair. "Daytona took them to
town. She's very anxious right now,
though I can't exactly tell why. It seems
as though a storm-cloud is sitting in
her belly."

She poked at some floating vegetables
with her wooden spoon, moved some
against the edge of the pot to test its
softness; it was getting there, but could
quite safely stew for the next couple of
hours until the others made it home,
cooking the combined tastes into a fuller
experience.

Regina mentally grumbled and sighed before asking out loud, "Mom, ya got any tea?" Watching Sam with a bemused smile on her lips. She didn't care of the fire guardian never grew any feelings for her, he was just glad she could be near her.

٭CIDER٭

As usual, Cider flinched slightly at being
called 'mom' by Regina; after all, the Water
Guardian was a good few years older than
Cider! And sometimes... being looked to
for all this emotional assurance felt like an
awful lot of responsibility. Could she really
always make the right suggestions, say
the most helpful things? One day, she was
sure some of her much-sought-after advice
would lead to someone getting damaged,
one way or another.

"I do," she replied at length, with a certain
amount of neutrality. "What are you wanting
to get from the tea?"

Samantha's face showed a hint of apathetic irritation at her head being patted, though she gave Cider a smile as she turned back to the earth guardian, waffle back in her mouth for a moment. Her head turned quickly with the mechanical 'pop' of the toaster, slipping away and letting her robe flare out as she turns, blissfully oblivious to being in the buff under her robe as she takes the waffles and drops them in a bowl... before turning and using the same bowl to scoop some of Cider's soup up into it with her waffles, giggling as she ducks under the earth guardian's arm as she does so, making her way to the table as she blows Cider a teasing kiss. "Thanks for the soup, Cider!"

Regina

Regina looked inwardly then sighed. "Serentiy and wisdom. Ya got something for that?" She asked. Though she was an older guradian, she felt so much younger at times. Her element was both a liquid which could flow and aaptand a solid which made her rational and often stubborn. She felt that it was a tug-of-war of her own internal age at times, like she was either so young, or so old that she was ancient. She sighed and put her head in her hands, feeling the emotions aging her. "And headaches..."

٭CIDER٭

Cider scowled at Samantha over her
shoulder, annoyed that she had been
surprised and ambushed that way,
while in her contemplation. "Don't blame
me if you crack a tooth on something
raw, then!"

She turned to look at Regina, sighing
and rolling her eyes for sympathy. She
then huffed once more, attempting to
focus on the other girl's request.

"Well... I don't know about wisdom..."
She had moved to one of the wooden
cabinets and was searching through
the ready-to-strain sachets of herb
mixtures she had dried and packed
herself. "But I can help you with the
headache and some calm too, so long
as you don't try too hard to counter-act
its properties." She gave Regina a
sweetly scolding look as she
retrieved the pouch she had been after.

She came over and took Regina's hand
from her side, then cupped it in both of
hers after inserting the tea-infusion for
her to prepare. Cider's hands were hot
and dry, like the desert. "Licorice root
and lavender. Can you find somewhere
peaceful to sit once its made?" The
concern in her voice was heartfelt,
but calm.

Regina sighed and shrugged, wincing as even that sent a sharp pain down her spine. She feared words word hurt so she once again spoke with her mind. Cider, I just have a wicked migrane. Do you know of a dark place? I can make it cold, but geez, my head hurts...

٭CIDER٭

Although she did feel on some level
that Regina was, at this point, being
a little petulant, Cider made herself
sympathise and thought on the
question she had been posed.

Go outside... out back, behind the
second bedroom... there's a dug-out
there... the Earth is cool there... and
in the time it takes you to walk there...
a thorny thicket, will have grown, a
spinney that lets in only the barest
rays of light. It will be peaceful there.

She turned on the kettle and chose
a deep coffee mug with the Japanese
kanji for "water" written in attractive
calligraphy.

You can have this in there once it's
ready.

ADD Guardian of Fire

Sam had ended up watching the exchange between Cider and Regina with a sort of passive interest, idly using her toasted waffles to scoop up soup she had nabbed from the pot and eating them, soggy and covered in what would likely be dinner. The guardian of fire didn't find many solid bits, as she had slid the bowl in sideways, letting mostly only the fluids of the soup into her bowl. She didn't want to really say anything, certain they were talking through psychic means... something that Sam had never mastered, each attempt just throwing odd images of kittens into the minds of the other girls... like she was unintentionally doing now as she slurped soup.
