S.M. still stood there, shaking. The bad memories of the fear he had realizing he was alone in that forest for days crept back onto him. His teeth gritted together and his fists clenched and shaking.

Dust decided to follow the group. Although his apathy in the subject was growing and he was weary with these emotionally crippled people. But something always pulled him to these kinds of people. In his mind, he always pictured the reason in two ways: Where he believed that he had the power to fix them and fix everything in their world and everything will be good because of him... Or the other extreme, where h saw them as good subjects for his head games, leaving them even more ******** than they were before meeting him, and he wouldn't care. But, he digressed. Maybe he was harsh, maybe he was rash and childish at times. But he had nothing better to do, and he clung to whatever friends he could call friends.

He pictured Midnight sitting in a dark alley, sobbing uncontrollably while Swifty was trying to comfort her in the factual by-the-book way he thought worked, and Frost with her gentle console, which didn't work. He believed that the true answer to Midnight's problem lay with him, like every other problem he's had with people. He walked up to the group with SWIFTY crying uncontrollably, Midnight on the verge of tears, and Frost really pissed.

Dust rolled his eyes and sighed. "Frost, let me handle this." He said, with a blank expression carrying with it the shadow of intent.

Midnight felt tears sting her eyes, still rubbing the now red hand print on her face.

Frost didn't hear a word, extending and retracting her claws. Her heart pounded, her blood surged in her ears. "SINCE TALKING WON'T GET THE MESSAGE THROUGH, MAYBE THIS WILL!" Frost shouted, clenching her hand into a fist and punching Midnight in the stomach, causing Midnight to cough up blood and fall to her knees. "OR THIS!" Frost screamed, tears streaming down her cheeks as she raised her fist for another blow.

Midnight's emotions watched in silence, stunned.

Dust rolled his eyes and drew his hand back in a haymaker backhand to Frost's cheek. "Calm. The ********. DOWN." He said, shaking off his hand.

Frost put her hand over her cheek. "YOU try getting her to listen, then!"

Midnight, on her hands and knees, bowed her head. Her hair covered her face from view as tears streamed down her muzzle, dripping off her chin and falling onto the ground. Up to her knees was nothing but air because she was still vanishing.

Dust yelled at the top of his lungs. "WELL MAYBE IF YOU WOULD HAVE SHUT THE ******** UP AND STOP INTERFERING THEN MAYBE THIS WOULD ALL BE OVER BY NOW!!"He ran a hand through his hair and lifted Midnight's chin gently to look up at him. "Midnight..."

Midnight jerked her head away. "D-Don't touch me..."

Dust gently lifted Midnight's head back up to his. "Even with that look on your face and the blood dripping from your chin, you're beautiful..." He said, a warm disarming smile on his face, his eyes gentle, yet firm.

Midnight looked away from Dust. "I thought you hated cats." She said to him, her voice heated with anger.

Dust brought Midnight to look at him a third time. "I do, doesn't mean I don't have additional feelings for them..." He wiped a bit of blood from Midnight's lips and crouched down to her level. "We want to help you... For more reasons than you'll ever know..." He said softly, kissing her, grabbing her gently yet firmly by the arms.

Midnight, with a soft mental sigh, gave in, closing her eyes. She knew this was only to calm her, but it was nice to pretend, no? To pretend that someone actually cared and wasn't just using her for once. She knew after all this was over he'd blow her off and simply laugh, but for the moment it was nice to feel like someone would truly care... Care for her, and care about her feelings... Slowly, she returned the kiss, a light blush coloring her pale muzzle and her ears ducking back.

Dust's tense grip began to fade away. Everything that was firm in his actions began to melt away. He tilted his head slightly to the side, beginning to french kiss Midnight. His arms weren't on hers but were now holding her close to him. In between kisses, he began to whisper. "This is why I need you to be here... So I can get the opportunity to do this more often."

Midnight felt her blush deepen. She continued to tell herself this wasn't real, but that barrier slipped through her fingers and she untensed, relaxing more and more. She felt her heart melt deep down inside. Her tail picked itself off of the ground and curled over her head as happiness flooded her, making her release her doubts. "This...can't be real..." She whispered. "You...You don't..."

Dust smiled. "Feelings aren't faked..." He backed his head away from Midnight ans smiled before embracing her in another kiss.

S.M., who had now started to calm down, was on his knees, wiping away his tears.
