Atsuko looked to the scientist and considered the plea. He had been hoping for a quick exit but if what he said was true then Houou might have died for nothing. After some consideration he made his decision. "We are the Shishin. And we will bring peace, no matter the cost" was his reply to the scientist.
"Asumo, have two of your clones follow the scientists and escort them to the surface. Shishin, we are to finish off the head if you are still able to fight"
Atsuko stood in front of the bone barricade they had formed that was being cracked slowly and two of Asumo's clone moved next to him. Both of the Asumo's used Violent Whirlwind [B Rank] on the barrier, shattering it to splintering shards of bone that would be exploded forwards into the faces of those attempting to break in in a blender like attack, as Atsuko added into it an inferno of flames that thrived off of the air and chaos. All those on the otherside if unprepared were likely about to meet a grim fate as Atsuko bought the volunteer some time. [ A rank]

Taketori could feel the impacts through his layers of bones, baring his teeth as he felt an earthshaking boom. There were still many layers of bones they would have to go through but that they were willing to throw so much at it showed the tenacity of the foes they were facing. As one of the scientists asked Shishin to take out the leader of the mine, Taketori was prepared to stare down the impotent scientist when Atsuko accepted his request. Taketori shot a glance at him. There was a lot he could say. Reckless revenge was not the answer. Houou still needed to be sent off to the Other Side. Artemis needed to be looked after.
"Atsuko. You looked tired." Taketori said gently.
As Atsuko launched a mighty attack to blast through the bones sealing off the tunnel, Taketori decided to take the lead in a frontal assault. He would [ Body Flicker ] forward in the wake of the shrapnel-filled explosion. His body moved towards the left tunnel through the blindingly bright mining area he had scouted out. If any soldiers were still standing there, he would appear in the middle of them and spin, slashing at them as he activated the [ Dance of the Larch ] again. By forcing them into close-quarters combat, Taketori should have the advantage as well as cover from any explosive attacks. Unless the UHV was far more dishonorable than he suspected. Growing one of his hands into the heavy, lance-like spear of the [ Dance of the Clematis: Flower], he would aim piercing blows with incredibly dense right arm he had now. Atsuko would burn himself out if he continued firing off jutsus left and right, Taketori could take that off of him.

The researcher would offer words of thanks before joining the others in being evacuated.
Atsuko's attack would catch a pair of guards unawares and send them to the ground in bloody, burned heaps, their armor sizzling against the cool rocks. Their armor gave off a few sparks as they fell. Taketori would similarly catch the group he appeared in unawares, but one of them managed to jump out of the way of his initial attack.
"The hell are those bones?!" that survivor would shout. "Everyone, use--!"
His warning would be cut short as the bone lance pierced through him, but not before he undid a pouch on his waist. Several small paper balls bounced down into the tunnel and started spewing different colored gases. Farther up the tunnel, another squad would start raining ammunition on Atsuko and Taketori, their two greatest threats. At the same time, the third member of their group shed their backpack and dumped it into a minecart, which began glowing and sparking green. They kicked out the brakes and let the cart start rolling downhill, not aimed at anyone in particular.
The rumors Zetsu had heard were correct. The room with the white floor indeed had explosives in it, though they were rigged up at the edges of the room and ready to blow. If he looked closely, he might be able to make out the ineffectual scorch marks where previous bombings had failed. There was enough munition in there to cause a cave-in if he wasn't careful. On top of that, some multicolored smoke was rolling in...
Techniques used: Ammo rain x2 (B), smoke bomb bouquet (???).
Taketori was fortunate that he donned a gas mask earlier as the latest guard he impaled fell to the ground. He did not like the look of it or how prevalent these were. Especially in a tunnel. It made sense, there was very little wind to disperse it and explosives were much more dangerous, but of the ways to die it was one of the worst. Unfortunately for them, Taketori was finding his [ Dance of the Seedling Fern ] exceedingly effective in tunnel conditions as well. The battle had gone on for a while cumulatively and he felt hints of exhaustion tease his system as the Invigorating Armor technique sparked and faded out from around his body.
As more projectiles came in, he raised one arm, the one without the lance, to protect his face and breathing apparatus, the projectiles bouncing off loudly in a rain of sparks. He raised one foot and stomped it back down, sending more Chakra through the ground to sprout into another forest of bones. This forest would go up the hill and forcefully flip the minecart that was coming downhill as a focused group of shards sent it flying sideways away from the people behind him while not sending it back the way it came either. While focusing on sending the bone spikes towards the squad, he would leave enough space for one guard to not be impaled. The guard would not have much room to maneuver but there would be a small clearing.
Taketori would then merge with the forest of bones yet again, becoming one. He was going to first see what the minecart filled with material was going to do. Was it explosive? Was it chemical-based? More smoke? Then he would reappear in front of the surviving guards member from the bones, lance first, to come into contact with the survivor's chest without penetrating it.
"Tell me where your leader is. I shall grant you mercy. If you deign move anything but your mouth..." Taketori was going to add a little twist of the lance to make a point. And he was serious, if the guard reached for anything or even just tried to raise his hand, he would apply full pressure. He had seen how loyal the guards were earlier, this was almost a matter of desperation for Taketori now. His chakra levels were being rapidly depleted and soon he'd have to resort to pure taijutsu if it went on much longer.

Atsuko snapped his fingers and Asumo canceled her clones, chakra coming back into her. He picked up a couple of gas masks and put one on himself and made sure Asumo was breathing easy. Watching the mass of bone shards that flew about he made his way through it carefully in response, keeping his eyes out for survivors before he spoke clearly to all those left.
"As he said. You are getting crushed down here, and we will not stop until we have your leader. A leader who doesn't value your lives more then the dirt you stand on. So if you want to walk out of this alive, show him to us and we will spare you, otherwise you will join your brethren in the after life"

As Zetsu entered the room, plastered with explosives. He realized that he had made a foolish decision that come here. These explosives weren’t just laying around like he thought. Zetsu could only think the he should have never listened to those guards. Now as he examined the room for any kind of switch or trigger for these explosives, unbeknownst to Zetsu, there was toxic gas drifting down into the room he was now trapped in. If Zetsu happened to find nothing, he would walk out into the main corridor to see the smoke slowly closing in on him. Ripping off the end of his lab coat, Zetsu would double wrap his mouth and nose with fabric and place a thin layer over his eyes. Zipping up what remained of his coat Zetsu begin sprinting through the gas, holding his breath and slowly exhaling, praying to see the other side. He couldn’t let his freedom be taken away so easily after newly being liberated.

The minecart skidded into a wall and started sparking brightly. There were no gases or explosives in it, at least not of t he conventional sort; no, it looked like the man's backpack was melting from the heat of whatever was in it and sending off a shower of sparks at the same time.
The guard who was left alive was clearly scared out of his wits, much different from the fearless stoics earlier. He'd just seen everyone around him die and now a man was sticking halfway out of a bone and threatening his life. When Atsuko showed up, that was just the icing on the cake. He looked between the two of them, then very pointedly glanced up toward the storage area at the top of the mine.
"Y-Y-You'll n-never get anything o-out of me!" he said, feigning defiance while clearly terrified. Once again, he gave a pointed look up toward the storage area, then tilted his head ever so slightly toward the side of that area with the steel door rather than the shutter. Tears streamed down his face. "I-I'll never give up the b-b-b-b-boss! She'll be o-out of here in n-n-no time to get h-help!"
Zetsu would find it extremely difficult to breathe as he passed through the fog. Rather, he would find it very easy to breathe, but it would be like the air didn't have any, well, air in it. Thanks to his particular strategy, he would make it out on the other side relatively fine, though probably a bit breathless. Some of his exposed skin would be itchy and a bit red, but nothing that would require immediate medical attention.
Description of the storage area:
Rows of crates filled with minerals of many different kinds lined the walls of that tiled stone room. Straight ahead would be a metal shutter that stank of the tunnels, but the unfocused sounds of a large crowd some unknown distance beyond it could be heard. To the right was a steel door much the same as the one leading into the research area, though this one was unguarded perhaps due to all the commotion. Beyond it were the sounds of papers flying and frantic packing.

Atsuko got his answer, in a sense. He noticed immediately however and quickly would snatch one of the gas masks off of the bodies, he would place it in the boys hand as he caught his breath. "It's alright. We are going to go deal with this final person then we will escort you to the surface. Asumo will stay with you, she will keep you safe. This will not take long" Atsuko said to the boy with a kind tone, or at least more controlled. His eyes were tired, but still determined to finish this.
Signalling to Taketori towards the door that the soldier had given up, he'd now ignore the soldier that had given up this information, Asumo hopping off of his shoulder and scurrying over to Zetsu giving the soldier a quick glare as she did so.
Once at the metal door when Taketori was ready Atsuko would push it open, intent on knowing who or what was inside.

Beyond the door was what looked to be a standard office environment, complete with carpeted flooring and filing cabinets. There was enough room for four desks, each of which was occupied by someone frantically stuffing the contents of their desk into bags or boxes or whatever else they could get their hands on. Their clothes were nice, but not exceedingly so.
At the other end of the area was a separate office, set behind a wall with a window. In it was a woman in a dark purple kimono. Her hair was done up in a braid that encircled her head and she had a sharp seriousness in her eyes that made it seem like she was constantly on edge. Her desk was black stained wood, and on it were strewn myriad papers, some personal effects including a nameplate that read "Disha", and a number of very expensive decorations ranging from small statues to paintings and carvings. Rather than the workers outside, it was Disha who would first notice and respond to Atsuko's entrance. Calmly, she stood, adjusted a wrinkle out of her kimono, and drew a decorative sword from its scabbard on the wall. Without leaving her office, she assumed a combat stance and leveled the blade toward him, as if inviting him to attack.
There was a loud boom as the pack in the minecart exploded, sending out a wave of green sparks that danced harmlessly across everything in the area. No one would take any damage from it, but the group would find it extremely difficult to use Chakra for a few seconds. The workers in the office would recoil a bit at the sight of the green lights, but wouldn't stop what they were doing when they saw no fires were starting.

Atsuko saw her and wasnt to surprised she kept her ground. He met her heavy stare with his own steady gaze. His wrist flexed a few times in practice attempts in chakra usage that of course failed as he moved towards her swiftly. When he drew within blades reach however, and only if she kept her gaze on him, he would put her under the Demonic Illusion: Shackling Stakes Technique, even if for a moment. She would at least feel the pure torture and pain of the technique radiate through her body as hopefully Taketori would follow through.

The bone lance around Taketori's right hand retracted and re-assimilated back into his body. He jerked his own head back towards the tunnels, where Shalamoana had his snow evacuation set-up. "Disarm yourself and depart. As long as you cooperate, no harm shall befall you. I care not where you deign to go afterwards." Taketori was a man of both word and intent. The guard would have to make his way through and over the bone growth in the way but as far as Taketori was concerned, the guard had been granted leniency. He did not feel as though he had been particularly merciful in offering the exit, rather if he did not he would not be maintaining his obligation. The threat if the guard tried to attack the others was, of course, unneeded.
He joined Atsuko at the steel door as the minecart finally exploded, releasing waves of green sparks that did not seem as though they had any effect. There was another office beyond these doors... Though these people seemed better off than the scientists had been. A woman in a kimono drew an ornate sword from the wall and pointed it at Atsuko. A bladed weapon? That would be her downfall against Taketori. He attempted to channel some Chakra for a [ Dance of the Larch ] and was disconcerted when he found his body would not respond. Atsuko too seemed to have some issues starting a technique or two but was staring intently at the woman, Disha according to her desk's nameplate.
It didn't really take long for Taketori to put two and two together. These guards with this UHV, they were clearly not Chakra-users. They had reacted with surprise to some of the group's assaults and had been armed with mechanisms to counteract some of the activated jutsus. And now he was unable to utilize his chakra for further bone growth. No matter, he could still feel the previous layer of bone beneath his skin. As long as the sword in front of him was not reinforced with Chakra, it would not harm him. He would resort to taijutsu then. That was of no concern to the massive man. Perhaps Atsuko could figure out a way around the chakra-blocker, but Taketori would not even bother.
Taketori would launch a [ Breaking Lariat ] at Disha and attempt to slam her onto the ground if she was hit. He would follow this up by using his body weight to keep her down.

Zetsu watched his liberators as they tore through the UHV troops he had loathed since childhood. As he gathered his breath through the gas mask that he was given, Zetsu would notice a strange sensation overcoming him. Those nearest Zetsu like the blond woman, would notice a large smile creep across the face of Zetsu as he basked in the soldiers suffering. And now, even the leader of the operation had fallen to the hands of this mysterious group. Then Zetsu’s smile would disappear as he though of how he would never get revenge on these people himself. Zetsu was weak and knew nothing of combat to assist the selfless people fighting to save his life. He cold only sit and watch these amazing fighters throw their lives away for complete strangers.
When Zetsu though again of Houou and how kind he had been to all the researchers, he knew that he had to carry on that legacy somehow. Zetsu had spent his life underground, surrounded by darkness and evil deeds. Finally, someone had shed some light into his dark world. Zetsu had, from that moment forward, had decided to put aside his violent plans of revenge and do everything in his power to liberate captives of the UHV. The struggle would be hard but Zetsu was entirely too moved by the actions of these men and women. Maybe his hate for the UHV and his new found sense of duty will make for a potent combination..... or perhaps it will blow up in Zetsu’s face.

The guard, quaking in his boots, stood very still until long after Taketori and Atsuko left, looking between the bones and Zetsu as though either were about to come for his life. Eventually something inside him snapped; he dropped his gear and fled toward the shutter at the top of the mine. He wrenched it upward and escaped down a disgusting hallway into an area thick with people. Within moments he'd vanish into the crowd.
Disha was a woman of elegance, grace, and pride. The poise with which she handled her blade was breathtaking; it flashed through the air at Taketori's arm as he swung it at her. She was not, however, a woman of battle. Her attention was split between the two assailants and she fell readily under Atsuko's Genjutsu. Her grip slackened and her blade--ornamental as it was--first bent, then snapped as it collided with Taketori. Both halves clattered to the ground at very different parts of her office shortly after she, herself, hit the floor. There would be no resistance from her due to the Genjutsu, but the lack of muscle on her figure suggested she wouldn't have been able to put up much of a fight anyway. A small ceramic sculpture would fall off the wall and crack on the ground from the impact.
As though on a delay, the handful of workers ran for the door well after the duo took down their leader, leaving behind a storm of papers. There wasn't much in Disha's office aside from the decorations and a waste bin with a few crumpled up letters inside, but outside it was a veritable treasure trove of information now ripe for the taking.

Atsuko was glad she didn't put up much of a fight. All of this underground mess was making him annoyed that they couldn't fight so freely but he'd take it as a learning experience. Once she was taken care of he signaled to the boy who was still nearby. If he had wanted to leave he could have done so already, so the fact that he stuck around either meant he wanted to watch or he had other motives.
"You there. If you want to help us, gather some of this paperwork. Taketori you are going to carry the woman back to the surface and we will deliver her to Magnus" he stated, tossing a large brown bag he had found. It was large enough that it would hold her a bit uncomfortably but not suffocatingly. With all that being stated Atsuko himself gathered up files that he tried to pick out to be important before moving back over to the snow pillar, ready to leave quickly.

Being a researcher himself, Zetsu figured he knew what these individuals were looking for. At least, he New the most valuable research documents to take with him. Without speaking a word, Zetsu rushed over to the nearest empty desk and began to to shuffle through the papers, picking up everything of value, rolling it into scrolls and stuffing them in his lab coat. Then Zetsu would move to Disha’s office, scanning the room for what he deemed useful. The only things there, were a few crumpled up letters that Zetsu quickly snatched up and stuffed away.
Exiting back into the main part of the mine Zetsu then began looting the bodies of the UHV guards that lay on the floor. Looking for any useful combat items that were still functioning. So far, all Zetsu managed to confiscate from the guards was a well made gas mask. Surely there must have been something useful on these guards person.
