Adam looked around. "It's very nice. I like your eye for color." He told her. "Mine is even smaller, so this actually looks spacious to me. You haven't crammed it too full of furniture like some people do with small apartments." He sat down on the couch that faced the TV. "Just a half glass for me, please." He would have to force himself to drink the wine, he thought with distaste. It would have been odd to refuse in these circumstances. She'd seen him drink what seemed to be vodka, so he could not claim a dislike to alcohol.

Lenore nodded a little to herself, pouring the red wine into the clear, glittery glasses. Of course Adam would want half a glass. She was sure that he didn't like the feeling of having to choke down alcohol or food. Lenore wasn't particularly fond of the feeling either, but she was willing to put up with that discomfort if only to remind herself that she was still a little human somewhere in her. Eating a little food and drinking a little reminded her that she could still function as a human, even though she certainly wasn't a full one. Lenore smiled faintly as she put the wine back on a shelf. The alcohol Adam was probably drinking was probably water. How could she have fallen for that? Lenore played with her fringe, standing there as she laughed to herself a little.
Turning back around, Lenore grabbed the two glasses and walked to the couches. She handed one to Adam. "I'll take the compliment." Lenore put her own glass down on the coffee table and the proceeded to fiddle with the dvd player, putting on one of the two movies into the thing before figuring out how to play it. The television made a small noise and turned on. Lenore grabbed a remote and hopped onto the couch besides Adam, cradling her glass with her hand. "I've been to the college apartments. I was scared I would get some loud neighbors, so I took this apartment closer to town. My neighbors are relatively quiet. One of them is overseas quite a lot and the other tends to go out a lot at night." Lenore sipped her wine. As a human, she would've enjoyed it. It went down her throat burning with a bitter taste. Lenore guessed she could only go a couple more sips before it started to taste worse. The movie started to play its before-movie ads, creating a noise to the background.

Adam wondered about the sound of Lenore laughing to herself. She probably hadn't meant him to heard, but as a vampire his senses were keener than those of a human. "You've been lucky with your neighbors. At my place, the people upstairs seem to be having dance parties at 3 am, and the people next door sell drugs." Adam took the glass and thanked her, but didn't taste the wine. "So, which one did you decide we would watch?" He asked her.

[ I've watched both movies, but it's been such a long time since I've watched Watchmen. I should rewatch it sometime this week. ] Lenore laughed a little at Adam's story about his neighbors. "I wouldn't have put up with it for so long. I would've given both a good scare," she murmured, glancing to the flashing screen. With her newfound abilities, she wasn't scared of dying as much as she did when she was human. She was stronger and keener than them. Her transformation definitely gave her a lot of confidence; she figured a little commotion wouldn't be much of a problem for her. "I chose Hunger Games. I've heard a lot about it but haven't gotten around to watch it, even though I watch a lot of movies. I'm busy, but I seem to have enough free time to watch them." Lenore sunk into the couch, watching the movie mindlessly. After a moment, she started up again to fill the weird silence that had settled. "So what were you doing these past few days?"

"How would you go about scaring a potentially dangerous neighbor?" Adam asked, out of curiosity. As a vampire, he of course had any number of scary things to do, but he had chosen not to, on the basis that while the annoying neighbors remained, no one would pay attention to the fact that he stayed in all day and went out for the whole night. "I've been doing school work. A project on Shakespeare's comedies, to be precise. People often concentrate on his more serious work, but the comedies give an excellent idea of what humor was like in his day." He explained.

Lenore smiled, looking down at the pool of dark reddish-purplish liquid in her glass. "I'd probably threaten them with having family in the mafia or yakuza. Something crazy, so they wouldn't think twice with messing with me," she joked, being playfully tough so Adam wouldn't think much of it. In reality, she probably would've just punched the wall or broke some furniture if she were to threaten anyone. She probably wouldn't hurt anyone; she already felt guilty for using them as meals.
Lenore liked listening to Adam's daily life. It convinced her that Adam still had a human side. "I've read Hamlet. My feelings on it were partial," she said. Shakespeare wasn't all too interesting, but that was mainly because she didn't grow up loving to read. It wasn't until she was older did she pick up the hobby of reading. "Do you really laugh at Shakespearian comedies?" Lenore asked skeptically.

"Hmmm... that kind of thing could backfire, if the neighbors happened to be connected with real mafia..." Adam replied. He sipped the wine, and had to force himself not to spit it out in disgust. "And yes, I admit I do, sometimes. 'The Bard' had a clever way with words."

Lenore tugged on a piece of hair that had fallen from her bun, tilting her head towards Adam. "I was kidding. I don't think they would be scared of someone like me." She gave a smile, sipping her wine again. She was, after all, a weak human in Adam's eyes. The movie added noise to the background, but Lenore had to admit she wasn't all that interested in the movie compared to her interest in Adam. "Old english is hard for me to read. It's too complicated. It's like playing Nancarrow on the piano. But I guess one man's noise is another man's music," Lenore supposed, leaning over to place her glass on the table in front of them.

"I suppose you're right. Each to their own and all that." Adam smiled. "Are you liking the movie so far?" he asked, more to make conversation than actual interest in the film. After all, he'd read the book, he knew how it went.

Lenore looked at him as he spoke before turning her head to look at the television. A deep conversation had ensued between what she supposed was the main character and some other minor character. Though her attention was lacking, despite her attempt to look at least semi-interested. "The movie," she commented, waiting a second more as her eyes lingered on the screen. "I can see its appeal, but I don't find the girl relatable at all," she said, even though she didn't pay much attention to the movie. "I would want a main character to relate to myself, I find that much more interesting, personal and emotional. But then again, I don't think I relate myself much with female leads, but rather male ones. I don't see myself really feminine."

"That's interesting. I never would have guessed by the look of you", Adam replied. "So, can you mention a male character you relate to?" He asked her, intrigued. [Sorry I was gone. Stuff happened. sweatdrop ]

[ That's okay. I was on spring break so I was too busy going out anyways cat_xd ]
Lenore smiled a little, looking at her glass on the table before looking back at Adam. She was never the girly sort except when she was in grade school before she moved. It was intriguing to hear Adam say he didn't expect that from her. Lenore took well into her appearance and made efforts to look well-groomed, but it was never an attempt to look womanly. She surely wanted to look nice for Adam, but her intentions were to look clean and simple, rather than pretty. Lenore sat up, so that she sat with her legs under her. She leaned her side into the back of the couch, so that she could face Adam and turn her head to watch the movie as well.
"I don't know. I really like characters that have psychological depth. xOnes that have secrets. Ones that aren't what they appear and it takes the whole movie to really understand a character rather than watching a girl fight her way through Hunger Games because we all know she's this independent and stubborn hero. I prefer the guy lead. From what I've seen so far, he's useless. But you can tell he really loves this girl, even though they are pretending and he has to hide his feelings from her," Lenore paused. She herself had a few secrets, and she knew Adam did too. Maybe all this talk about secrets would make him uncomfortable. "This guy in the movie likes this girl and keeps it to himself, having to pretend he doesn't in front of her, but pretend he does in front of the cameras. He has depth that I don't think the female doesn't. I don't really relate to female leads often, but that's because I think they're really easy to read." Lenore looked back at the movie, though vacantly. "You probably have a few secrets of your own," she commented, glancing back at Adam with a smile.

Adam listened intently to Lenore's explanation. "I agree with you, Peeta as a character has more depth than Katniss. Personally, when I watch a movie, I may end up liking some of the minor role characters, rather than the leads. The lead characters are so extroverted and dynamic, and, well, I can't identify with that." He pretended to watch the screen intently after she had mentioned secrets. "Ah yes... I think we both have secrets." Was his only response. He was thinking about what he'd found in her bag, the drugs. Who had they been intended for? He couldn't ask, because then he'd have to admit he'd looked in her bag when she was away.

Lenore watched the movie as Katniss seemed to run through what looked like a forest. She smiled as she did, especially at Adam's comment about having secrets herself. Of course she did, as did everyone else. Although, she didn't know that he knew something of her that she didn't know. And because he knew of the drugs in her purse, he probably thought of her as a rapist or a black market dealer or something. Little did he know, she used it for other purposes. Lenore didn't think she could even use drugs on him; they would probably be ineffective. Lenore didn't have a chance to try the effects of drugs on herself to see if they worked on vampires.
After a pause, she leaned forward, taking her glass from the table and sipping it. She glanced to Adam, who had seemingly only took one sip from his glass. "What kind of movies do you like then? Characters?" She asked. "Do you have a favorite?"

Adam put the wineglass away, feeling relieved just not to be holding it anymore. "Well... I like the Lord of the Rings movies... I like the character of Faramir in those movies. How he was torn between doing what his dad wanted and doing the right thing. Another type of movie I like is Tim Burton's animations. Especially the 'Corpse Bride'. It was so mad and macabre and ingenious, I didn't know if I should laugh or cry."
