Elsewhere, the Rainbow Egg had finally made some progress. Now that the fight between Mihrath and Sathanaseth had been finished, the situation was a little bit less pressing, but Rainbow felt that it had already wasted enough time as it was. For a long moment, the egg froze, all signs of movement abruptly stopping as the hatchling pondered its next course of action. There was no warning for what happened next--the dragonet simply headbutted through one of the weakened sections of its egg, revealing the head and neck of a somewhat perturbed-looking Green. She made short work of the rest of the egg from there, picking apart the shell with deliberate, measured movements; it had held her back for long enough, and she had things to be doing.
Apologies for the wait. She didn't pause to look at the Candidates when she spoke at them, still shaking off a bit of her shell from around her shoulders. Let's get to it, then. Rainbow did, however, turn towards Elzebuth and Anakumath once she'd been properly de-shelled, eyes whirling a steady purple. Words weren't necessary for them--she made certain they could feel the wave of love she'd sent them, straightening herself up to let them see her better. It was all she could do to hope they'd be proud of her; and if not, she'd work until they were.

Finnisa - HR - She/Her For just a moment Finnisa thought to hold Haveli back when she began to move towards the raging brown... but then she let go. Her friend's voice, firm as it hadn't been in all the time she knew her... and the way the brown stopped at the same moment. Oh. OH. She let her hand fall slack, and even managed a smile—she really, truly was happy for Haveli. "Not so alone now, huh? That's wonderful. Go kick all their teeth in..." She wished her quietly, as she went.
Although... well, now Finnisa was alone. Again.
Zelaya - HR - She/Her/They/Them Here came the little blue, right up to her and the rest of her little throng, and Zelaya was cautious not to get in the way, but neither did she step back. If the blue wanted a look, far be it from her to stop him. "Yes, quite," she agreed patiently, reaching out a hand not to touch, but to be sniffed or nosed at if the blue wished it. "Just let us know if you'd like us to move, alright? We don't want to be in your way, but we're also happy to stay here with you for as long as you'd like." It was a balancing act, giving the little dragons what they wanted but also being ready for sudden mood swings. Still, it was wonderful to have the chance to admire him up close. So finely formed, even at that young age... dragons really were marvelous, weren't they? "It looks like two of your brothers are settled now too, so you've got all the time you need. Thank you for your composure also."

Lojze -- HR, he/him
A voice suddenly penetrated Lojze's thoughts, and from the way the other male Candidates reacted, they heard it too. It was the regal-seeming bronze hatchling, bidding them to attend him. Well, who was he to deny such a command? Straightening, he pulled his shoulders back and with a slight smile on his face strode forward toward the bronze, trying his best not to limp as the pain from the wound on his leg was lessening some.
"I'm here," he said softly but confidently to the hatchling, radiating thoughts of respect and regard toward him. He knew how to behave in the presence of nobility -- he'd had lots of practice at High Reaches Hold. Behave not like a lesser, but as a peer. That was the way to earn notice.

The little, white-eyed 90s Picture Day Green gave an anxious creel as Anakumath gave her a nuzzle and wave of love. She half-reared up, wanting to paw tenderly at her mother's face for a longer cuddle--but alas, her mother had moved on.
Still wobbly on her legs, the little green one tumbled back unsteadily on the sand.
Something wasn't right...
She peeked over at her sister, who looked absolutely fine. With Anakumath's attention elsewhere, she creeled softly again, looking about. Some Candidates were stained with red blood (or in some cases, green ichor), there were emotions all over between the Candidates and her clutchmates, the boys were being summoned elsewhere, and, to top it all off, she was very much alone.
Would her sister stay? Shaking off the sand, the little green reached out her neck to her twin, her eyes still white with anxiety and fear.
Today was a very hard day, indeed.

Wa’ren of Brown Caironairth
Maybe something should have clued him in that something was happening around him; but the days leading up to the hatching, Wa’ren had soaked himself in the excitement of the upcoming hatching. Getting a seat for himself and J’er as soon as the humming had begun, his arm around his weyrmate, he was thrilled to see the new dragons that would be gracing the Weyr, and helping to beef up their wings.
He almost misses the voice over his shoulder, glancing back quickly but not quite registering. “A fight between a bronze and a brown, an’ looks like they both--”
Wait.
Wait--!
“Shaffit, B’jor!” Wa’ren outright laughed, jumping to his feet and almost half climbing his seat to drag his son into a hug. He took note of the meek little greenrider at his elbow watching, but he can only grin, letting go of B’jor and sliding back into his seat. “I didn’t know you were coming.”

Kahbrohm - He/Him
Kahbrohm considered it, really. It pulled his attention from Blue Moon green for a moment as he looked at the bronze who told them all to step up. Perhaps it was even a briefly covetous look, because if there was a boy at High Reaches (or anywhere else) who didn't even briefly dream of a bronze for themselves, they were a liar.
But his pride was too strong to simply line up. If he wanted to look at him, he could come to him - even if that meant he came with claws.
-----
Midrymear - He/Him
Midrymear, however, had no such reservations if it meant he got more than a passing glance from a fine dragon of High Reaches, moved up to join the little group that Lisa Frank Bronze was making for himself. It was efficient, after all, and it wasn't as though once he was done the other dragons wouldn't come over and have their own looks upon them all.
----- Juhvek - He/Him
Lisa Frank bronze, no matter how strong of a call it was, no matter how compelling it was, Juhvek didn't budge for it. The bronze had made his opinion on the man known when he'd touched his egg. Juhvek would not give him honor that he'd already said he didn't want. It was a waste of both of their time....but mostly of Juhvek's.
----
Beelim - He/Him
Beelim couldn't help but frown a bit at the command, but he didn't have much of a strong ego that told him it was particularly insulting to simply do as the bronze asked. So he joined the group, not much minding if it was the right thing for him in particular to do at that time or not. The baby was just lookin'. Why not?
