*The black hunter gave a chocked screech as it was decapitated. The creature had been in mid-leap again after Cian when Veni's shadow attack went into effect. It's body twisted through the air, claws flailing as it collapsed against the dirt, bleeding black ichor, it's head tumbling away.
*Though one was rather quickly dispatched, the several others that scrambled through the trees would be tougher targets. They weaved in and out of the paths of the daggers, blocking them with their armor and claws, being also wary of any shadows they could see.
Immediately Cian began to experience sharp headaches. Also, sudden mental images of his signifcant other in horrible torture situtations began to flood his mind, from being picked apart by vampire hating crowds, to being tormented by demons in hell for all eternity. It was obvious the black hunters were trying to use mental attacks to weaken his defenses, as a pair rushed up to Cian and swiped at him. Others tried to attack the bats that Veni was using, sensing that they were linked to something, but unsure of what.*
*Rosemary's gunshots only seemed to inflict minor damage to the demon, despite the rapid shots she fired and the deadly caliber of bullets she used. Though it's black blood poured, it seemed to shrug off the attacks.
When she went to slice off his arm, his other claw caught the blade roughly, drawing blood as it cut into his palm. The demon growled at the pain, narrowing it's eyesockets as it muttered something, closing it's fist around the weapon as it.... more of his blood oozing out. The liquid suddenly burst into life, and wrapped around Rosemary's arm. Once there, the fluid shifted into poison-tipped fine needles, and drove themselves through, creating thousands of tiny holesas they penetrated to the bone. The demon didn't waste any time forming a black sphere into one of it's claws, trying to thrust it into Rosemary's chest as it muttered another odd word... the sphere would have the effect of weakning her and making her physically ill to the extreme. The demon wanted to try to capture her alive for the soul draining flesh pillar in the grave yard.*

*So far, the mages failed to notice Cian's blade freeing Daphne.*

Snarling, the abyss glanced around trying to see where that barrier had come from. Muttering a dark healing spell, it's current wounds sealed up, and the demon vanished in a thick plume of dark smoke. Out of this smoke came the black skinned, red eyed niearcim mage, twin tendrils of black magical energy shooting out of his hands, attempting to impale Rosemary through the stomach, to fill her with a powerful, draining essence. A second set shot out at the same time to either knock the guns out of her hands, or tear off her appendages to remove the weapons.
Mage: "It looks like I'll have to take a more active role in this matter...."

As Sephiroth tried to hurry to his friends' location, the abyss demon appeared behind him and tried to strike him down with his fiery claws, a spell already on his lips that would enable him to use his dark magic to force his way through any protective barrier.

Some of Cian's knives managed to stab into the sides of one of the black hunters, but this only seemed to piss off the deadly creature. He found himself having to dodge a pounce and a swipe that took off a good chunk of a tree next to him.
The black hunters that were trying to ambush Cian instead scattered, having heard Veni's swear. The vampire's sword only managed to slice deep into one of the demon's shoulders and grow wedged against one of it's carapace plates. Growling, the creature yanked out the blade and pulled on it, tugging Veni toward it as he tried to stab it's claws into his face.
After some fierce fightings, the black hunters regrouped and cloaked from sight again, taking to the tree tops. They then began to use realistic but brief hallucinations to make the vampires think an assault was coming from one direction, while they attempted to strike from another.

At this point in time, the two other mages glanced over at the soul draining structure, and noticed a floating knife cutting at the last of Daphne's binds, making progress despite the binds attempting to grow back and tie her back down. The possessed soldier immediately grabbed the handle of the telekinetically controlled blade, while the demon-form mage went after the now freed Daphne (Both Black and Daphne began to rapidly recover their strength once no longer attached to that strange flesh thing)
The soldier chanted over the blade, causing it to glow with dark energy, before hurling it against a gravestone and shattering it. This would cause a surge of painful energy to trace back to it's owner, giving him a nasty painful shock of magical lightning. The soldier niearcim then went to assist his demonic-brethren with recapturing Daphne and finding the missing kitsune.

(Oh yeah..btw: In an actual church unlike them? With your weird vampires that can eat food and have no penalties for being out in the daylight?)
BlackMN tried her luck with blending in with her surroundings thinking that she'd be spotted for sure if she ran.
---
A moment before the abyss appeared, Sephiroth thought he heard someone say, "behind you." He tried to quickly turn around, but wasn't fast enough. His right arm was slashed instead of his back. He grimaced at the pain in his arm. Lucky for him he was left handed and that the blow hadn't left his arm totally useless. The blow also had a toll on his strength he realized. That fire was worrisome. He slashed at the thing with his long sword and tried to touch the demon in turn with his bad arm, at the risk of further injury to it, to try to freeze the appendage to a useless heavy frozen mass.
---
Rosemary would have preferred the scary mystery demon over the mage any day. She moved out of the way of the whips as they shot past her, but they twisted around to try to take her from behind. When they made contact they went through as if going through smoke, but to her dismay they still drained her. She quickly got out of the way.
After a while of dodging and shooting at the mage she was caught, having one wrap around her ankle and tug her down. When she could recover from the sudden jerk, she grabbed onto it and dispelled the magic tentacle only to have the other one stab her. She put her hands around this one and focused on shattering the spell again. This took much longer since her strength was rapidly being taken away from her. When she succeeded, she couldn't hold herself up in the air and started to sink to the ground.
---
The blade went through a black shapeless mass. Veni yanked the sword out of the hunter's claws and thrust it into the demon with the precision that someone who normally used fencing type weapons had.
The demons regrouped and Cian fell. Not good as four or five of the deadly creatures were about to pounce on them. The man looked to where Daphne was. Veni grew angry at him, very close to screaming and kicking the guy while he's down for his frustrations. He knew that he cared for the girl and he knew what that was like, but if he didn't focus more on the fight they three would be dead. Why couldn't he forget about her and concentrate on the fight at hand? He can't help her if he's out of commission! Not to mention Veni knew he couldn't take on that many by himself.
Should he ditch the man to avoid the attack? He had no real attachment to him and Daphne would be a sorry loss. "Get up you sentimental idiot."
Something didn't seem right about their attack. While the rest of the bats seemed to tell him that they were coming from one way, another said they were coming from the other way. He threw some daggers along with cookies in the direction they had him believe they weren't coming from.

The demon Veni stabbed hissed, the sword having stabbed through some of it's vitals. The creature stumbled, but the vampire wasn't done.. he swished the blade side to side in the opening he created, shredding the demon's organs, causing the thing to howl and fall over backwards, writhing as it bled to death.
Veni's test worked, revealing several hunters as some of his daggers bounced off their carapace armor, or struck flesh. The majority of the hunters attacked Cian at this point, while two preoccupied Veni. Cian's attackers swiped and bite at his limbs, trying to tear them off and make him helpess. The claws of one tried to pierce through his legs, with the intent of quickly and harshly dragging him back to the graveyard.
The black hunters that Veni faced clashed their claws with his sword, one trying to block his weapons, while the other attempted to use it's mouth to take large chunks out of the vampire.

The mage snarled, waving a hand as a shield of flesh grew out of his forearm, deflecting or absorbing the bullets Rosemary fired at him. He grunted, more tendril whips bursting out from his back, still trying to knock away the pesky firearms she wielded, and bind her limbs. In his other hand, he made a gesture, and sharp teeth began to push their way out of his palm. He flung these at Rosemary's face with incredible speed while his tendrils tried to bind and draw her in.

The abyss demon zipped back from Sephiroth's sword swipe, his wings somehow propelling him quickly away. The demon tried moved away once again when Sephiroth reached for him, but wasn't as lucky... his arm was frozen solid. Ignoring the pain, the demon took this opprotunity to have his spine-tail swish from overhead, it's bladed end piercing and digging deep into the man's arm. He the quickly threw Sephiroth into the air, and breathed a huge cloud of the unholy flame at him.

Niearcim Demon: "Where are you hiding, child?!"
The larger brute fiercely knocked over several tombstones, sending stone debris flying. One of the statues was toppled in frustration, crashing to bits on the ground.
Soldier: "...go help the hunter demons. I'll handle this myself."
Niearcim Demon: "Are you certain?"
Soldier: "Yes, they're taking too long to capture those creatures anyway. I'll simply have to use a little more precious energy in my search, it's no big deal."
Grunting, the larger niearcim stomped off towards the trees, intent on helping the black hunters subdue their prey. The soldier studied the area for a moment in silence.
Soldier: "I know you two can hear me. Surrender yourselves now, while you still have that option. Otherwise you'll be made to suffer worse fates once I capture you again..."
Upon not getting a response, the soldier took out a knife and began to mutter to himself. He then sliced off his own hand, and tossed the bleeding appendage into the air. The thing burst apart in a shower of blood, forming small simple creatures made of claws and eyes. They hissed as they flew about, zipping here and there, looking for the missing vampire and kitsune.
