((Sorry, had to wake Lina up first.))

Lina slipped into the Lower Caverns and caught sight of a woman she hadn't seen before. She had to be the transfer. She walked forward and smiled.

"Greetings," she said. "You must the transfer. I am Lina, rider of gold Mith and Weyrwoman of Ieirne Weyr."

Greetings, rider. My rider, Lina, and I welcome you and yours to Ieirne Weyr. I am Mith.

T'thia paused as she was aproached by the weyrwoman. She nodded her head in a slight bow with a warm smile

"the pleasure is all mine Weyrwoman Lina. I am T'thia rider of bronze Arizath."

T'thia's expression grew shocked as the gold entered her mind. It was a rare occasion in deed when another's dragon chose to speak to someone other then their rider. Arizath touched Mith's mind in greeting as did T'thia. she did not press her conciousness too much so as to respect the great gold. T'thia braught herself back to reality as she realised how bumbfounded she must have looked. Shaking herself back into focus she looked at Lina

"I suppose it is you I report to for assingment of a den?"

T'thia's packs were begining to grow heavy slung over her shoulders and Oneth was begining to shift as he usually did before screaching a deman for food.

M'gor moved to stand next to Lina and grinned as Cadeth warbled warmly at the new rider.

Cadeth gently nudged Mith. Was your nap interupted?

---

T'gal came up next to the bronzerider suddenly and relieved her of two of her bags. "I believe you were going to bring these to your new den, eh T'thia?" He grinned broadly.

Barith made a tsking sound at his rider. Be nice, T'gal.

The bluerider grinned wider. 'I am being nice, my dear blue.'

T'thia was about to object to T'gal taking her bags but he had already snatched two of them off her shoulder. Giving a shrug and shifting the last bag in the proces she smiled warmley at T'gal.

"Thank you T'gal"

T'thia tilted her head jokingly at the weyr leaders

"Now if I only knew where my new den was"

Mith looked fondly at the bronze. No, although I had a time waking Lina. I knew she wished to be awake to greet the transfer.

Lina glanced at M'gor. She wondered idly whether he had been as surprised as she was to hear of a female bronze rider.

"Well, I'm sure that we have somewhere to spare," she said to T'thia, smiling. Mith's silent laughter seeped into Lina through their link; the Weyr was too new to have very many riders yet. Most of the weyrs were empty.

"Normally you'd be assigned near your wing," she went on, "but unless M'gor here has given you one, and there are only a few, then I'm a bit at a loss. I suppose any weyr that is empty and that fits. What do you say, M'gor?"

She looked to her Weyrleader. Assigning new riders to weyrs wasn't exactly her thing. She preferred someplace high up, but not all riders did.

T'thia nodded at the weyrwomen and then looked to M'gor. She had forgotten that a change in den menat a complete change in wing riders. She typically flew right hand wing second at benden but here she could be placed completely differently. T'thia's heart jumped for a second, perhaps she would have to go through some kidn of testing before M'gor would place her in a wing, and who knew how long that could take. T'thia steadied herself, no matter what his decision was it would be for the best. she had to have confidence in the new weyrleaders she was assigned under. T'thia waited patiently to hear the verdict from M'gor.

M'gor grinned at the nervous bronzerider. "You have caught us during a strange period I'm afraid. Being so new we have only one wing right now. As for your placement, give me time and I'll find a place for you. Until then, as Lina said, just find an empty place for you and your dragon."

---

T'gal grinned. "Don't worry about it. I'm not securely placed in a wing yet either."

T'thia smiled brightly. Perhaps she could find one closeley resembeling her old den. The bronze rider nodded and then turned to T'gal

"Arizath and I can take the bags from here"

She recovered her packs from T'gal's shoulders and just to make sure she hadn't stung his pride she smiled

"Can I meet you at the lake once i'm settled?"

she had a sent a mental call for Arizath who was now alighting next to his rider. T'thia threw the sacks over Arizath's back as she waited for T'gal to reply

T'gal grinned, not in the least bothered that she'd taken the bags back. "Sure why not, Barith needs a good swim anyways. Oh and don't worry about hurting my feelings, bronzerider, I learned the day I Impressed Barith not to let things get to me." He smiled brighter.

The blue nudged T'gal gently and the bluerider lifted his hand to stroke the blue affectionetely.

Lina smiled at M'gor. "You handled that quite well," she said. "I hope we get a few more wings before Thread starts. Otherwise we'll have a bit of trouble."

Mith crooned gently at her rider before greeting Arizath and Barith as they landed. Lina turned to T'thia and T'gal.

"You'll be placed soon, don't worry," she said. "We'll look at where you were before, so we'll know where you'll do the most good. Until then, I hope you both settle in nicely."

She smiled at the both as Mith chuckled through their mental link.

T'thia gave a small bow before she hoisted herself up to Arizath's sadle with practiced ease. Arizath took off and hovered for a moment before he and T'thia began to make a small circle around the weyr. When she found a decent den, one of the higher dens so Arizath could glide down to the bowl when needed or make an easy take off when desired. Arizath landed on the ledge and T'thia began to detatch the bags. She unpacked her gear and clothing. changing into some more comfertable clothing she unhooked Arizath's straps and hung them on the peg near the den opening. leaping astride Arizath the two glided down to the lake. T'thia jumped off as Arizath slid into the water.

T'gal grinned at the departing bronzerider and moved to mount his own dragon with ease. 'C'mon then Barith, let's go for a dip, shall we?'

The blue launched himself into the air off of the nearest ledge before answering. That is where I am heading, T'gal. It's been a while since I've had a good swim.

The bluerider smiled affectionetely as the pair desended and he pulled off the blues riding straps and watched the large dragon drop blissfully into the water.

Arizath slid into the water and promptly created a tidal wave with his massive wingssoaking the smaller blue. Arizath gave a hissing chuckle at his game. T'thia strode over and took up a spot next to T'gal

"rising age and he still acts like a hatchling some times"

T'thia grinned and shook her head at the playful dragon in the water. she then turned to T'gal

"so how long have you been bonded to Barith? did you bond here? or are you a transfer? how many members of this weyr are there?"

T'thia's eyes grew wide for a moment as she realised how incredibly rude she was being and she pressed a hand over her mouth

"sorry"

she smiled apologetically and stayed quiet to allow T'gal to answer her questions.

Jovia stopped on her way to her weyr. She heard people talking. She didn't recognise on of the voices, so she followed the sounds untill she reached where the two new dragons had landed. She nodded a greating and walked to Lina. She bowed and looked to her superior, Lina, under whom she was training for when she would become the weyrwoman, once her dragon was mature and Lina had stepped down. " When they are ready, would you like me to show them to the guest's quarters?" she asked. She always tried to be helpful, and she loved doing such things as escorting newcomers, because it kept her wise to the news and happenings of the world. Most other people her age in the Ieirne Weyr were oblivious to the outside world.
