The TN was 15. Naizen was doing so well because Kagae had done so well. Every single move seemed to be made as if it was what Kagae would do in that situation. The only way he could pull this off was if he had been studying Kagae for some time. As such, no cheating has occurred, just a mind f**k.

It was as if Naizen was expecting such a counter offensive, and began to put pressure on the offending pieces. Kagae had lost so many, and Naizen was braced to take away even more critical pieces of Kagae pushed the matter!

Kagae decided put the last few of his captured pieces down to help support this last stand generally placing them in defensive positions.

Naizen would begin moving pieces up - both generals, a lancer, a knight, and several pawns - in preparation for this final assault! {1 raise, 16 vs TN 15, Naizen gains a banked raise!}

Now that his only pieces were on the board he begun forming them up to make taking them as difficult as possible for Naizen.

Suddenly, Naizen's focus would shift, to one preparing to brace for the counter-attack. The sudden shift to defense would ease up on the pressure he had been applying to Kagae. {1 raise, 15 vs TN 20}

Kagae gains a free banked raise!

Kagae would only move some of his pieces into a hedgehog formation many little spear heads which could help breech Naizen's line but he did not initiate the attack just yet.

The tables seemed to be turning (almost literally!), as the assault that Naizen was preparing for was suddenly faced with much more resistance than expected; for every piece he could take, he would lose at least two in accomplishing it. Not a noteworthy accomplishment.

Spending his first void, he would attempt to bring things back to his side, trying to exploit any weakness he could find. {void spent for free raise, raising once, 26 vs TN 25; Naizen's TN is reduced by 5, Kagae's TN is increased by 5!}

Kagae maintained the pressure in his assault not being too hasty in pressing forward.

Naizen would go on damage control, trying to minimize any casualties that might occur, re-arranging his assaulting ranks accordingly! {1 raise, 32 vs TN 25, Naizen's TN is decreased by 5!}

Kagae seeing that Naizen was rearranging his troops and decided apply a slight bit more pressure while he could hoping to break the line before he could rearrange it.

@ Crane Shenanigans:

Kaori would seem to think about it, but for even less time than before. "Crane tent," she would respond, offering a slight smirk before shooing him with her hands, and disappearing within her own tent.

A while later...

When Zanzen would return, Kaori would be ready finally... in full battle gear? In addition to her heavy robes and Kuni facepaint, she even had her no-dachi and her scrolls. Anti-social much, Kaori? "I am ready for tea with the Crane," she would tell Zanzen as he approached. She didn't sound belligerent, but rather, quite sincere!

Naizen seemed to be getting nowhere, and instead, focused back on offense. Maybe the sudden shift would get Kagae to lighten up! {1 raise, 21 vs TN 25} Little did he realize, the Kaiu had set one of their traps.

Kagae gains a free banked raise!

The scorpion forgot one famous saying 'never anger the crab' and he begun paying dearly for it. Kagae was angry with Naizen and now let loose his wrath as he pushed through the breech caused by the trap.

Naizen's plan seemed to be backfiring on him, as he lost his silver general and knight in the ploy. Not good, not good at all! He would attempt to salvage this as best he can without surrendering his advantage! {last void spent on a free raise, raising once, 30 vs TN 30, Naizen's TN decreased by 5, Kagae's increased by 5!}

Though Naizen was salvaging what pieces he could Kagae would let his assault die down a bit and take a more safer style trying to make sure Naizen couldn't grab an advantage.
