[Methodless Madness]

Maria mentally kicked herself. Stupid...why did you say that? she thought angrily, but another, quieter voice countered with You couldn't have known. Maria argued with herself as she walked up to her apartment. She rummaged through her dresser, trying to find a pair of acceptable pants. Sighing with relief, she finally found a relatively un-wrinkled pair of black skinny jeans, then pulled them on under her skirt before slipping the skirt off. She then made her way back downstairs, plopping down on the sofa next to William. "Then, maybe watch bad reality TV?" she asked.

"Sure." He said with a slight chuckle, "What did you have in mind?"

Maria grinned wickedly. Hm, which really crappy ones are on? she thought. "Fear Factor would be good, but I don't know if they show it anymore." she said, scrunching up her face at the memories of the various tasks in that show. Then, remembering something, she looked at William before saying, "Oh, sorry about before. I didn't mean to bring up the subject of your family." Maria sighed, as if she'd been holding in a breath.

"Nah, it's okey." William said chuckling. "I almost was on Fear Factor, I turned them down." He said as he leaned back a bit.

"Eh?" Maria leaned closer to him. "Seriously? Why'd you turn them down? Too gross for you?" she asked, teasing him.

"Nope, too boring." He said with a chuckle. "They couldn't find anything to gross me out of scare me."

Maria pulled her knees to her chest, thinking. "You stink." she proclaimed, sticking her tongue out at him childishly. "The Bourne trilogy is on tonight...what time was it?" she muttered to herself. She got up, disappeared briefly, and reappeared, a magazine in her hand. Sitting back on the couch, she began to flip through it, searching for something.

William had wet hair and new cloths on. "Do I smell any better?" He asked her as he cracked his neck.

She gave him a sidelong glance. "You went back to your apartment and took a shower?"

"Not really, just for cloths. I went to the lake." He said with a chuckle.

Maria couldn't help but laugh. "Actually, now you smell like...well, to be honest, like Spork after he went swimming in the pond by our house." she added, wrinkling her nose and smiling. She grabbed something off one of the tables, aiming it at William. "Hold still." Maria said, then sprayed him with whatever it was. She set it down, then sniffed. "There. Now you don't smell like a lake anymore." she sat back, then resumed her search through the magazine.

William just glared at her a little. He flipped his hair behind his head and leaned back. "So, what now?"

Maria only smiled angelically at him in response to his glare. "You know, you never answered my question." she remarked.

"What do you mean?" He asked confused as he looked at her.

"Um, never mind." she said, blushing. "Have you seen the Bourne Identity?" Maria asked.
