The Bast was mildly surprised to see Sebastian back after his extended absence. She glanced over the scroll before rolling it back up and placing it on the desk before her.
"We don't take kindly to party crashers; they're always such pests," she commented calmly. "Giman, you say? They're still around? I thought they would've turned themselves inside out by now and self-destructed. Do you have anything else to report, or should I brief you on the domestic situation?"

Kumiko sprinted towards the leader's office, completely forgetting about visiting her after achieving her new Genin rank. She hoped that her recently met friends would not hate her for taking off so abruptly, but she did forget about her headband, which was crucial to any shinobi! After finally reaching the office, she had to lean on her knees for a short while to catch her breath before entering the village leader's room. "H-Hello?" The young genin asked while feeling very anxious about what would happen once inside this room. That hole in the wall seemed kind of awkward for anyone to enter, really. "I-I'm here for my h-headband and your orders. I'm one of the new Genin..."

"Very well," Bast said to Sebastian, racking her brain for available missions. Her thought process was interrupted by the tiny girl in the doorway, who bright clothes surprised the woman somewhat. Her expression remained as serious as ever, though, as she tossed the girl a headband from the pile. "You're Kumiko, correct? I'd suggest that you first do some training and get to know your fellow Shinobi. The hot springs need a good scrubbing-down and Granny Boom-Boom needs her garden weeded, if you want missions. Anything sound good?"
Kumiko gazed up to the figure sitting down as she too a headband towards the small genin. She jumped up a little and caught it before looking at the village symbol for a few seconds, happy that she was finally a shinobi. Kumiko then secured the headband around her waist for the time being. After making sure it was good and comfortable without falling off, the child considered her options. "I'll help Granny with her weeding first. Can I come back after I finish and see if the hot tub scrubbing is still open?"

Raikou made his way towards the Kazekage's office, his head buried within a book. Akita followed closely behind, her pure white coat shining brightly after receiving a bath shortly before they ventured off to the office. Up the stairs and into the doorway of the office, he continued reading, while remaining highly aware of his surroundings. As he arrived, he could hear a feminine voice talking about missions, and another voice sounding much younger respond. Genin were receiving missions upon promotion? Great. He was looking forward to that, as well as finding his sister Ayame, who he hasn't seen in twelve years. Although, the missions he heard didn't sound very interesting, they were still a start. He was looking forward to taking on risky missions, but he'd have to train before that. Silently standing behind the smaller Genin, with Akita at his side, he patiently waited for the Kazekage to address him. Until then, he continued reading.

"Indeed you can. I could hold it for you, if you so desire, so that you and the fellow behind you could work together," Bast told the girl, giving a reassuring nod. This new girl seemed a bit small compared to the other recruits Bast had dealt with recently--and truthfully reminded the woman of Shiro, another kunoichi in the Village--though her perspective might have been skewed by the person standing behind Kumiko. Given how polite he was being, the Kazekage guessed that he was a Hatake, since they always seemed to be more sober-minded than many of their colleagues. The white hair and wolf helped too.
The woman stretched with a grunt and then rested her hands in her lap, just out of sight of the new recruits. As usual, she was going to use Kagura Shingan to assess their abilities, mostly out of a paranoid fear of being infiltrated by spies. That was, after all, always a potential problem. Besides, it was always interesting to see how Chakra manifested itself in different people.

"Huh?" Kumiko blinked as the village leader informed her of someone being directly behind her. The man that was behind her was tall and seemed pretty calm with waiting his turn to speak with the woman like Kumiko had done. One thing she noticed was the same color of white hair the one girl had earlier. "Oh! Sorry! I didn't see you. Your hair is white like that one girl's! It's pretty." The small genin smiled before facing the village leader again. "Okay! I'll go do Granny's stuff and then help this guy with scrubbing! Do you know where Granny Boom-Boom lives anyway?"

Raikou had gotten too involved with his book at this moment, so much in fact, that it took a light swipe of the tail against his leg to bring him back into reality. He looked down at the little girl facing him, his expression lacking enthusiasm of any kind. Akita on the other hand, was cheerfully wagging her tail, anxious to pounce on and lick the cute little doll before her. An eyebrow raised in curiosity as she said something about that one girl who had the same hair color as he did, and called it pretty. As much as that may be true, since white hair is both quite rare and interesting -- wait, back to that girl. "Oh, do you happen to know her na-..." Before he could finish, she turned away, talking with the Kazekage once again. With a simple twitch of his right eye, he held his tongue, burying his head back into the book. Akita rubbed her head gently against his leg, assuring him that they would find his sister eventually. He still listened in on the conversation as he read, the girl agreeing to join him and start scrubbing something. He wasn't sure what, but he had no problem with cleaning. Akita sat at his side, as they continued waiting to speak with Kazekage.

"She lives two blocks to the south of that big apartment building in the Residential District," Bast told the girl, getting a few silent chuckles out of the childish enthusiasm. The Hatake did not seem amused, but that was just as well.
Kagura Shingan came into effect at last, and Bast found her suspicions confirmed: the Hatake's Chakra signature looked just like the manifestation of the clan's Jutsu. The girl glowed a soft blue-green that went well with her outfit and reminded Bast of youthful malleability. She had slightly more Chakra than he did, but her body was much more fragile, as would be expected from someone of her size and age. Fairly satisfied with her investigation, Bast released the hand seal and poured herself a cup of tea from a kettle that floated over from the kitchen across the hallway.
"Two blocks south from the apartment building. Got it!" Kumiko repeated to herself and nodded to the village leader. "I'll complete this mission like a true Genin! Thank you again!" After briefly waving, the small genin rushed outside, reaching for the door before answering the white haired male's question. "Sorry for making you wait! I don't know the girl's name, but she was back in the academy when I saw her last. She has a cute dog too. Tell her I said hi!" The new shinobi then left in office with aste, rushing to complete her new assignment.

His head rose from the book as he saw a kettle float over within the corner of his vision, following it with his eyes until it reached the Kazekage's desk, pouring tea for her. He found it a little odd, while interesting at the same time, but would say nothing about it. Shortly afterwards, the little girl was off without a second thought, only stopping at the door to answer Raikou's question. He nodded, silently thanking her for the information, a small smile rising on his face. He'd have to go look for her later, and he was sure that the Kazekage could give him more information. Closing the book, while using the index finger of his left hand as the book mark, both Raikou and Akita proceeded forward until they were in front of the desk. Bowing respectfully, he looked the Kazekage in her eyes before speaking. "Greetings, Lady Kazekage. I am Raikou Hatake, and this here is Akita, my companion. I've recently graduated from the academy, and have come to you today for a headband and perhaps a mission or two to keep me busy until the little girl and I cross paths again to complete this... scrubbing assignment." He was barely listening in when she explained it the first time, but he assumed they'd be doing some heavy duty cleaning to help the community and earn a little pocket change. "Also, I was wondering if you knew of someone named Ayame Hatake. She's my sister, and I haven't seen her in many, many years. I'm sure she's still... alive, correct?" Although it was not plainly expressed on his face, his eyes were a dead giveaway of his worry. He would hate for something unfortunate like that to become of her, but he prepared himself for the worst.

Bast tossed the new recruit a headband without a second thought while she listened to him talk. It seemed he was not aware of all that Ayame had done recently, but that would be fairly normal for someone who was, until recently, essentially a normal citizen.
"She's alive, yes," Bast stated plainly while shuffling through papers, setting aside the ones the little girl was doing. "Somehow, I knew you were a Hatake. Nice to meet you. For someone fresh out of the Academy, we have pet walking, trash collection, and helping an elderly man chase down his deadbeat grandson. Anything sound good?"

Doc would walk up to the office door, with a dead shark tied to his back, and notice that it was wide open as if someone was in a hurry. "So that old man is still trying to chase after his grandson, is he?" Doc would say just being able to hear that one mission the Kage said, "We're done, but I'll wait to tell you more once you're finished." Doc walked over and stood to the side of the room, making sure he was clear from the doorway. Just in case Mafread made another hole. Doc was already tired of working, even after coming back from a vacation, he still is tired. But that's what you get for being a lazy Nara.
