But I don't know howHearing her words helped loosen a bit of the tightness as he realized there was a way he could talk with her, as long as she was still awake, that was. He just had to find a way to get to his copy of the journal he sent her to do it. He knew she had written in hers, since the words were sent to him afterward, but he hadn't read them. He didn't have the right, yet. All he needed to do was flip to the back and write back, and send his note to her. He knew her though. She would probably think it a cruel joke, but he knew his sister well enough that she would figure it out. He swallowed, hoping that she would be awake when he got back to the Shack. Suddenly he realized why Eretria was constantly telling him her most secret of secrets. She hid a lot too, and she never wanted any of it to come out, especially when a lot of it could get her in serious hot water, and possibly outcast from her own house for her views. She may be very vocal about a lot, but even she wasn't immune to insecurities. He hugged Ada tighter, mindful of his own strength. He honestly didn't know how he'd lucked into someone like her. She didn't bat an eye about hearing what he was, and didn't run, To him, that was probably a good indicator that no matter what he had become, someone didn't think he was a monster. He then considered his options. "I... have a way to talk to her, if she's still awake. Otherwise I'd have to wait until she wakes up, and hope I don't have to sleep then. And thanks. I know I said it before, but I do appreciate hearing that." He then thought about his position. It wasn't long after dusk, so he still had a bit of time before he had to go back. Besides, he new Eretria. She'd still be awake doing schoolwork at this time of night, so hopefully she wouldn't mind getting a midnight call. Because maybe

Adalaide nodded against his chest. It was good that he could contact her. At least it would be partly on his terms, then, as opposed to some stupid meeting that Ronyo micro-managed them into. That was better than anything else, she thought. She pulled back a bit a nd looked up at him. "Do you have any idea what her schedule is like, what time she goes to bed?" Ada didn't want him to leave yet, but she understood if he had to. She'd just... probably pout. A lot. But not to him. She didn't want him worrying about keeping her happy when he had more important things on his mind. She supposed she shouldn't be selling herself so short, but given the situation, she was more than happy to step aside.
But... his arms around her felt so nice. She sighed and leaned her head back against his chest, her arms squeezing a bit tighter. He smelled really nice, too. Ada flushed a bit at that thought. Why was it that literally everything about him was so... she didn't even know what it was, she just couldn't resist him. Even that little flash of fang she got sometimes when he smiled was attractive to her, a fact she hadn't told him or anyone else, because she thought it might make her sound crazy. Or like she was only attracted to him because of that. She wasn't sure which of those options would be worse for him to think. She sort of wondered if it would make him happy that she liked his fangs, but given how he felt about himself... she sort of worried that it was weird him out that she liked them so much. Possibly too much, really. She felt warm almost every time she got a flash of them. Of course, it was also because of the fact that his smile was incredibly sexy and the look in his eyes when he looked at her like that.
She realized she'd just been standing there holding him, and hoped she hadn't been sniffing him that whole time, because seriously, how awkward would that be? She flushed again. Okay, silence over now. "If you've got time, it'd be nice to catch up a bit. We haven't seen each other in ages." She'd meant what she'd said when he'd first arrived; she missed him. A lot. It'd be easier if she didn't have to borrow owls to talk to him, but she didn't know about having a cat and an owl, and she loved Dracula way too much to leave him at home next term. He was that little piece of home she brought with her each year, cuddling up to her in bed at night and following her all over the castle... but she did need to figure something out. They needed to keep in touch better.

Michelle waited quietly for about 30 seconds before she assumed the stupid fox wasn't going to answer. He really though he could just ignore her and go on his merry way. She wasn't going to let him lie there in the snow and eavesdrop on her best friend! No way in hell! She growled under her breath and slammed her foot into his ribs again.
"You will listen to me right now you blazing idiot!" She screamed. She didn't care if Ada heard her. It was better Ada knew she was here and watching over her than let this creep eavesdrop on them. Some things were meant to be private, and anything having to do with her best friend (especially when Chris was involved) was going to be kept private if Michelle had any say in it. (which she was about to prove she did).
Silver eyes flickered to her best friend but the girl seemed completely oblivious to them, which could only mean one thing. The white fox had put up silencing wards. That was fine by her. It had honestly given her an idea. She pointed her wand to her neck. "Sonorus." She growled. As her best friend and Chris started talking, Michelle started babbling, yelling, and screaming at the White Fox. Her voice was amplified multiple times by her own spell. With all the racket she was making, Michelle was almost positive he wouldn't be able to hear a single thing Ada or Chris said.
Slowly she stopped speaking. Silver watched the vampire and the badger. It seemed their conversation had slowed down and they were just standing there hugging each other. Good. It was at least a moment's rest for her voice where the fox would hear nothing of value. As she removed her own spell from herself, the idiot finally spoke up. "A deal? Really?" She asked in a low growl.
"You really don't know me at all do you?" She twirled her wand and pointed it at him. "I don't make deals unless they benefit me, so here is my offer. You will consider me and my 'badger friend' off limits now, and you will never dare show your mask around me again."
She knew very well that he probably wouldn't accept the offer, so she thought quickly. There was only one thing she could do. It would jeopardize her position of secrecy to Ada, but it would be worth it. It was better than Chris and Ada know about both of them being there than neither knowing the White Fox was there.
"Incendio." She hissed. Her wand was still pointed directly at him, but she didn't care if she hit him or not... mostly. The only way he could effectively dodge it was by moving though, which would reveal him to at least Chris if not Ada too.

 For a brief moment the White Fox thought the girl was thinking it over, until she kicked his ribs again. That was going to need to be healed up after he left. So far the two had not really said much but right about the time things looked to be getting interesting is when it seemed like the world caved in. The White Fox heard the spell being cast and it was like things went down in slow motion. The girl opened her mouth and the only thing the white robed hero could do was bring his hands up to try and keep the sound out. The girl yelled and screamed just about anything she could think of and proved to be a truly interesting counter to a silencing ward. The White Fox tried to read the two's lips but he was too far away and without any magnifying device to help. As the girl stopped the White Fox found his ears ringing a bit but he had done moderately well at keeping them safe. The next things he heard about from the two love birds was all about each other and nothing to do with any hard facts. A heavy sigh escaped the mask and he turned to see the fire snake yell at him in a normal voice now. Turning his mask to look at the angry young snake the White Fox was trying to think of what he could say to help calm her down. Some people were just way to over protective. That small fact was made even more true when the pale haired girl blasted the White Fox with her favorite fire spell. Had he been kneeling or standing maybe he could have moved. The spell hit his mask, thankfully warded against breaking but the spell really wasn't designed to break anything. His hood caught fire but thankfully he was able to quickly roll over in the snow to put it out but the roll had forced him out of his small burrow. He placed a hand to his mask to check for cracks and was thankful there were none, the charred bits could be repaired. " Are you psychotic girl!? Being protective is one thing but you need to get a handle on yourself. Maybe you need to think if there are other things going on beyond you, that you are not supposed to know about." The mission was obviously a bust and he had little time to exfil himself before things got dynamic. His hands moved to his small pocket and grabbed the end of his staff. With one fluid motion he pulled it free and slammed it hard into the ground. the pushing spell went off and sent the White Fox hurtling into the sky and back towards the castle. He would land well out of sight but would still require one more solid jump to reach the school and find a safe haven to regroup.

But I don't know howChris was going to say something when he was suddenly blinded by a flash of light. Blinking against the glare, he saw a figure vault away from Michelle, and his own eyesight caught a glance of the mask on the figure's face. He grit his teeth. They had someone watching them? The mask nearly cemented in his mind who the person actually was, and he felt an urge to go after the man for invading their privacy. Which was odd, since Michelle always followed Ada, but she was her best friend. He knew nothing of the other individual, and he didn't care to. He only cared as much as he had to get the guy to leave him alone and never come back. Briefly he wondered at what his sister would say to that little revelation, but he decided he would ask later. Chris looked back at Ada, certain she had seen the man as well, though what she had seen as opposed to his own sensitive eyes he wasn't sure about. He looked back at Michelle though, and gave a bit of an eyeroll in the general direction of the fleeing form before returning his attention to Ada. "I swear, that guy is as persistent as a cockroach. I mean, following people and spying on them? That's low, really low." Shaking his head, he returned his thoughts to Ada, since he would deal with Dante or whatever he called himself later, even if he had to threaten to bleed the guy dry. He'd never do that, but Dante or Ronyo or whatever he called himself didn't need to know that. "Actually, not much, besides the usual work and such. It gets infuriating when I'd rather be doing something else. What about you, well, besides getting stalked by annoying detectives? Need help with OWLs and such?" He may not be a wizard, but he'd read his entire life on wizard subjects, so he was probably the most non-magical expert on wizard subjects he could get. Made for an interesting thought, anyway. Because maybe

Adalaide saw the flash reflected in Chris' eyes, her head turning in time to see... something. She had no idea what on Earth it'd been. She froze, her expression worried. His words made her stiffen. That guy? What guy? She would've assumed Michelle had been following them and that the flash was a flame, but then again, Michelle wouldn't just randomly cast some fire spell, right? Unless... ugh! Some guy had been creeping on their meeting and Michelle had chased him away! She ground her teeth. It could only be Ronyo, right? He was the one investigating this case, of course he'd bloody spy on their meeting so he could figure out whatever it was she wouldn't tell him earlier. She could only hope that he hadn't managed to hear anything important, that Michelle had distracted him well enough that he'd walk away with nothing. Ada would die if it were her fault that Chris' secret got out. She fought to keep from biting her lip, the cut from earlier throbbing as if it were a reminder, and her fists were clenched to keep from grabbing at her hair again. She needed to stay calm... she took a couple deep breathes, leaning into Chris. Maybe it was creepy or weird or whatever, but his scent calmed her a bit, and she desperately needed it. "Creep," she murmured, expression annoyed but no longer worried or angry.
She glanced up at Chris, smiling, her jaw still clenched a bit too tight. She gave her head a light shake. "I've not been up to much. Studying mostly. Dhylan, one of the boys in my house, offered to help me with Transfiguration if I'd help him with Potions, so we'll see how that goes. He's really smart but I'm a bit worried he'll pass out mid-potion and his face'll fall into it or something. He's been staying up for days on end trying to study. Hopefully it'll end without a trip to the hospital wing." Honestly, Ada had no idea how Dhyl had managed to stay on his broom last game. He was tired, all the time, leading her to wonder just how much sleep he was bothering to get on the nights he did sleep. She flushed a bit, talk of the last game and Hospital Wing reminding her... she felt like she should probably tell him. She didn't know why, but it'd been something pretty big that'd happened. Her hip still had a bit of a twinge in it when she walked. She didn't feel it right now; the cold was making it pretty numb. But it did still hurt a bit most of the time. "I, um... I also sort of... well, we played Slytherin last week and uh, one of the Beaters got a really good hit... he sort of... broke my hip. They mended it up in the Hospital Wing but it still hurts a bit. I kept playing, though. I actually sort of... got better. After I got hit. So, I mean... I found out I can really take a hit. I was always sort of scared of getting hit but I mean... He broke my hip and I didn't even stop. I had to be carried to the Hospital Wing after but I didn't even really cry or anything." Ada hadn't meant to share so much about it, but she realized she was sort of... proud of herself. She always had to deal with people thinking she was so tiny and delicate and needed to be protected... and she'd sort of started to believe it herself. But Dom hitting her in the game had put an end to all that. She'd handled it well, had barely cried and had pushed through the injury to finish the game... honestly she would've ridden her broom to the Hospital Wing if Dhyl hadn't offered to carry her, although she was sure there was some sort of rule against that. But, the fact was, she'd gotten a very serious injury and taken it like a boss. She smiled at that. She was sort of awesome, really.

 A lone figured appeared from the forest, stalking out of the forest and walking toward the castle with clear purpose. She was not here to check the runes she inscribed into the ground those many months ago, but was instead on the train of someone that had escaped her grasp. Her eyes, blood red and sparking with violence, looked about. The little mudblood had to be here. She couldn't have gone that far. And it was all because of that man, the one that had decided to investigate the shack of their work and took her with him. The woman's lips curled into a sneer. She had to get her back, or all of their careful plans would go up in smoke. She glared across the grounds, scanning the area for signs of their missing pawn, and set off, casting a disillusionment charm upon herself to disguise her entrance.

Instead of approaching a possibly angry and snarky Bradley he was now waiting on his adorably awkward boyfriend to exchange gifts for their first anniversary. In his pockets were two gifts, both were rather sentimental but for his surprise gift he had worked his butt on. Seriously, his hand was cramped from all the writing! It was a miracle he could even hold a quill to do all his end of year exams. Bradley smiled as he strolled down to the lake, a slight bounce in his step. He was excited. Very excited. He had spent the last 3 weeks putting together his surprise for his badger boyfriend. He chuckled at the thought of calling Tobi that. Well Tobi called him his raven. It really should be returned. At least that's what the Ravenclaw thought. Ignoring the fact that he wanted to point out he would actually be an eagle since that was the mascot of his house, he saw the boy waiting by the lake and paused. Adjusting his suddenly sweaty grip on the wrapped parcel, the wrapping of light yellow with a dark blue bow - one would think the combination of the two colors wouldn't go so well, bug it had a unique beauty to it. The ravenclaw smiled and steppe down to the lake edge and smiled. Was it just him or had Tobi gotten taller this past week? They were almost the same height now. It certainly was not as big a difference as earlier in the year. "Hey." he said as he smiled at the Hufflepuff boy.
Nervousness overflowed the boy and his mouth suddenly went dry as horrifying thoughts suddenly filled his head. What if Tobi hates his gift? After all the work and time he ha put into it. No he had to like it. If not he didn't know what would happen. His hands clung to the wrapped parcel. The memory book inside filled with photos of the two, drawings of events Bradley could remember, and a sketch of the two holding hands by the lake snogging was on the cover. He had worked so hard on everything in it. Finding the right picture of Tobi at the masquerade, drawing a sketch of the brave and fierce expression he had when dueling, the sketches of his many goofy faces, and the memory of how they got together in a pastel picture. Bradley still had pastel smeared on some of his fingers. Not to mention the glob of ink on his elbow from when he spilled the ink well while writing the note inside for the ten thousandths time. Now if only Tobi would like if.

He felt his heart flutter inside his chest and thought for only a brief moment whether or not it was normal to care so greatly for another person after knowing, and dating, them for a short amount of time. But then he squashed said thought beneath the heel of his shoe saying that two years was definitely long enough. "Hey." he copied back to him before eyeing the colorful package in his hand. "Soo...how do ya wanna do this? One at a time or jus' switch and hope for the best? Personally, I like option B." Tobi chuckled and grinned to hide his anxiety. Gods what if Bradley thought it was too much too soon? What if he got spooked and ran off? Gah! Bradley smiled nervously back at Tobi as he spoke. "Well neither of us know how these things usually happen.. So I guess so." he said as he looked at the boy. He held out the parcel to Tobi. He really did hope the other boy liked it. He had worked so hard on it. Smile still nervously plastered on his face he must have looked a bit odd, his eyes showing worry and nervousness but a huge smile on his face. Even the best actor would have trouble keeping their true emotions from showing in their eyes, especially to one who knew them well. Like Tobi did with Bradley. The ravenclaw felt like his stomach was jumping around in his abdomen if Tobi didn't like it, what would happen? He wasn't sure, but he didn't want to think about it.

It had taken him months to scrimp together savings, borrowings, findings, and even winnings to buy his gift. When he saw it in a small catalog over winter break he knew he had to get it for Bradley. It was a promise ring in the shape of a bow, like the one you would tie around a finger to not forget something, with both boys birthstones, names, and an engraving saying "Never Forgotten". He had thought of it when thinking back to the summer when he'd had his meltdown. Tobi knew that if anyone could lay with someone who had been crying, snivling, and ranting about how the world hated them only to tell them that they in fact loved them deserved everything that person could offer. However, being the poor student he was he decided to improvise. Taking the orange and blue gift he unwrapped it gently, afraid he might actually hurt the gift, and gasped as he looked on the cover of the two of them (or he hoped it was them!) kissing by this very lake. He gingerly opened the album and felt his smile widen as he took in the pictures and drawings of either him or both him and Bradley hugging, walking, flying, singing,..it was like his very own time capsule. "It's perfect Bradley. It's wonderfully, beautifully perfect." Tobi replied happily before kissing him and bouncing like an excited puppy. Bradley smiled as he saw Tobi unwrap the parcel he seemed overjoyed and to love the present and that made the boy smile. He took to is gift, feeling a lot less nervous now. It was smaller, a tiny box. The ravenclaw had no idea what was in it so he untied the little ribbon and pulled it open. A small gasp escaped him at the sight of the ring. It was beautiful. Bradley looked up at his boyfriend in shock. He then threw his arms around the Hufflepuff and lost his footing. But still managing to plant a kiss on him before falling to the ground.
Smiling Bradley looked at Tobi. "I love it." he said with a smile. He looked at the bow shaped band. 'Never Forgotten' was engraved on it. They were the sweetest words ever. The two boys names were on it. Which made him smile. "But what's the other surprise?" he asked curiously. If a promise ring wasn't all then he wondered what more could the boy give?

Well I woke up to the sound of silence And cries were cutting like knives in a fist fight And I found you with a bottle of wine Your head in the curtains And heart like the Fourth of July Unwanted Origins ►Taken by Bradley♥ ►♪ Musical Magician♫ ►Hufflepuff ☠ Beater ►Lionel ╔ ╗ Tobi eagerly watched Bradley open up his promise ring before he fell to the ground with an "oof!" having his Raven land on top of him with a kiss. "I'm guessin' ya like it?" he teased. When he was asked about the second gift he sat up and began pulling what looked to be a bunch of multicolored crumpled paper with writing on it. Actually they were all paper hearts with different dates or different expressions like "I love the way you hum when you eat chocolate" or "The only thing I remember from studying with you is the way the light shines on your hair", each hand-written and made by the Hufflepuff and when he had pulled them all out they littered both of the boys laps. Bradley smiled and nodded as Tobi joked about him liking it. He smiled and kissed the boy in response. The Ravenclaw smiled and picked up the hearts from the second gift. He smiled as he read heart after heart. "I love you too." he said as he read the golden one.
He smiled at Tobi. The trouble maker boy who had forced him out of his shell. And the ravenclaw was happy about it. Not only had Bradley been to shy to talk to people and he was unable to express himself. Now he was in two clubs, a soon reporter, and on his way to becoming an amazing photographer and artist.
