Seichiro's chuckling didn't seem to help her much, as she put the cup down quickly and covered her face with her hands, hiding from the Lion's view.

"Ohmykamithat'snotwhatImeantandyouknowityou'retakingitoutofcontexthonest!" She would shake her head several times, yet she did not find the power to rewind time hidden within her palms. "Please don't tell Koan-kun I said that. Or... or SOSUKE! He'd cut me down if he heard me talking like that! Ooooh..."

Jiro would think about the best possible strategy, and decided to advance his knights to get past Kagae's pawns. Surely, he wouldn't see that coming! {1 raise, 14 vs TN 20}

"I bet Osano-wo didn't warn you THIS was coming, eh, Kagae-san?"

Closing her eyes, Kaori would sit down on the opposite side of the table, silent as well. She would wait a couple seconds, before finally speaking up herself. "Well? Tell me about your day, or something!"

He sat there a moment, gathering himself before replying. "It didn't exactly go well. After the first part, there was a long distance run. Raicho-sama put in a distraction as well with having an assistant pose as a peasant come up asking for water. It's Crane land, so I felt compelled to help, lest we look bad. Somehow I wasn't last despite this."

Taking a drink to help calm his nerves, he continued. "Then the horse competition, which I believe I adequately described earlier. My only luck was that Susumu-san was his usual drunken self and blundered through most of it. Of course, the rocks after that were my end, though I still think I could have done better if everything wasn't still slightly blurred."

"Fine. Do what you want." Naizen would say, getting up and leaving the tent.

Maru would smile, pulling Kojiro's arm against her chest with both hands. "Don't worry about Naizen-san. He's never been a people person. Duty is everything to him. He'll find some way to keep himself entertained. Come, let us see about those horses. As lovely as such glades are, I don't think a married man should be bringing me to such a place, after all... It's hardly becoming of a husband's behavior..." She would smile sincerely up at the Bayushi, eager for him to lead the way.

With that said he took the knight with a rook before continuing the hedgehogs formation's advance readying them to assault.

Kaori seemed to settle, her muscles untensing as she began to relax. "Huh. Sounds to be like I would have been in for a rough time if I hadn't gotten eliminated as early as I had..." She would pause to sip her tea, before placing her cup down.

"I'm... sorry. I'm used to dealing with other Crab," she would explain suddenly, without warning.

Jiro would pause, and scratch his temple with his index finger. "Well, I'll be damned." However, humorously, he was in position to take the rook with a pawn, of all things.

See, Jiro? Shogi's not that hard! He began to move his other knight forward. Kagae couldn't pull the same trick twice! Jiro was too smart for that. {1 raise, 9 vs TN 20}

He would nod. "It is alright. I suspect that dealing with someone like Hida-san would be much different than others. He took on Sayoko-san of the Unicorn in the Juijutsu tournament fairly easily for the first two matches, despite his lacking hand. He must have made an impression, for she felt compelled to go a 3rd round and dislocate his leg. Though I don't think a soul didn't wince when Raicho-sama responded to that."

"Are you sure you are the master as you claim?"

Kojiro would guide the beautiful Soshi gently to the Magistrate's tent, talking quietly along the way. "If my behavior is found lacking, please forgive me! You underestimate the power you hold over me. As I told you upon meeting you, Maru, you resemble Lady Kachiko greatly....and if Lady Kachiko held the place of Lady Shosuro amongst the second Thunders, then what Bayushi could refuse such a woman?"

The Samurai let out a breath before continuing. "You can see how the pull is so strong, can you not? I do wonder though if my antics have come between another partnership and have done damage to the ties that bind that one together."

Jiro would pout - yes, pout - as his other knight was escorted off the table. "Well, I would be of someone didn't stop taking all my pieces. KAGAE." He would begin moving his lancers forward, to see if the two of them could cut bloody swathes through the Crab's line. {1 raise, 13 vs 25}

The line would surge back at the lancers initiating a counter assault of the previously prepared assault in an attempt to catch his lancers off guard and begin the attack.

"I thought me taking your pieces was part of your strategy?"

"Aaah, I can only hope," the Hare replied, continuing to walk on. That was a bit of a dead fall for the conversation, as the two strolled along, the mud not the most pleasant walking, but not terrible. As he watched the tents they passed, the Hare realized he could do something of use again.

"So Bayushi-san, how fares that battle for the duelists you mentioned yesterday?" the Hare would lead, pointedly aiming his question while trying to make it come off casual, still a part of the natural conversation. But he was hunting for information now.

"I'm curious who the popular picks for finalists and desired duelists are."
