Dai looked up at Haki and KIn as the young boy spoke of her helping him getting down from the tree. Her memories brought the image of her mother, Yoko. How she use to hug Dai like that. She snapped out of her stare and nodded. "Haki will make a fine student, ma'am." She told her village leader. "He listened and performed to the T. He'll do the village proud." She gave a small smile as she watched Kinpaku and Haki. wishing she had more time with her parents before their untimely deaths. She sighed under her breath and continued to gave a small smile.

Hakkin seemed to be so hesitant, but soon enough, he was back and throwing all he had into his embrace with his mother. She hardly paid any attention, as she stood a little more, raising the boy off the ground as if he weren't even five years old. "Well, Dai's a helpful person, only the best in mind! Sounds like you did quite well for yourself, too. Maybe we'll go to the academy together, to practice and learn. Never too old for that," the raikage smiled, "Well, Demetri... I'm going to need you to go to Suna, and ask after Bast. We're going to need her expertise to fix this little... mess."

Dai was quick to make mention, but she didn't approach as Kin had motioned her too. Well, it was fortunate that she handled Hakkin as she did, back on her feet. Toward the Hatake, the woman stepped, leaning forward and planting a kiss upon his cheek. She turned and moved to repeat the process with Dai. Both were young, and had mistakes to be made in the future, and in all, it was her duty to shelter and protect them. In a way, few were adults before the Shadow of the Clouds. All were vulnerable, at some point or another, and that left it to the Oni woman to protect them. "I know he will, Dai. Just as all of you do each day," the raikage laughed.

Without thinking, Hakki wrapped his legs around his mother's waist as she lifted him up, still holding tightly. He didn't hear what Dai or Demetri said, focused as he was on hiding his tears in his mom's shoulder Stupid eyes... he glanced up only barely to look at Daitomi and mumbled "She's an....ok teacher." he then ducked his head back into his mom's shoulder. His mother would know that, while it wasn't much of a compliment, it said something about Dai. Hakki didn't tend to like people...in fact he rarely made friends. So saying that Dai was an ok teacher was like saying she had saved his life. It was a huge compliment.

Dai looked at Kinpaku as she had stated that Dai is a helpful person and the best in mind. True enough, but maybe she cares a little much for those around her. That the thought of losing them could kill her over dying on a mission. She had lived the life without any help from people around her. Until she came to Kumo. Her life was simple and filled to the brim with many happy faces. But sometimes, Dai couldn't help but to feel alone. She gave a soft smile at Kinpaku and blushed a little. Dai turned her head as Kinpaku addressed Demetri. As Raikage she wasn't going to waist time in getting her office back in order. Dai stiffened a little as Kinpaku came closer to her. She gave a small laugh. with Kein off gathering his composure over what had happened befallen Fuyu. Dai was left teacherless but very close to ONIN rank. She smiled at the thought. Dai looked at Haki as he mentions she was ok at teaching. "I hadn't had much time in teaching, Haki. I have yet to get the right rhythm of it, yet." She mentioned to the young Oni. She looked at Kinpaku and smiled. she had a wonderful son but being a mother and the Raikage had to be stressful of the poor women. Though she wasn't much older than Dai, but still.

Demetri nodded."Ok Raikage-sama I'll head to Suna Immediately." Demetri stayed where he was waiting for everyone to speak. But then the Raikage came up to him and kissed him on the cheek. He kind of froze in response to this. It was just not used to getting kissed on the cheek by the kage of the village. When she went over and did it the Dai as well he felt a bit better he unfroze and suppressed any embarrassment that might be shown. He squatted over by Haki and ruffled his hair."Hey when I get back from Suna, you'll show me what you've learned and I'll treat you to some ramen k?"He heard the Raikage's praise to them. He stood and waited for her to dismiss them, in case she needed anything else to tell him.

The mother listened kindly to what the boy spoke of Dai. It made sense that she knew what to do... After all, she'd seen it done by a couple of different people. It was all so simple in the grand scheme of things. She simple stroked his hair, nodding gently. "Hear that? Clumsy, but working on it," the woman joked, as she moved to set the boy down for the time being. They would all have to be off to learn soon, as she had plenty to learn just yet. They all did, actually.

"May you move ever so quickly, Demetri, we hope to hear the good news, make sure to mention I'll be in the academy, should she arrive," Kin clarified ever so simply. Demetri seemed to like Hakkin all the while. There was no greater relief, when the boy had been isolated for so long at home. There was little to think of at this moment. All was sorted out for the time being.

Demetri bowed to the raikage and waved goodbye to Hakkin and nodded to Dai as he vanished via shushin to the gates of the village. As he did a bird that was perched on top of the Raikage's office took off into the sky.

As always, it was a lovely thing to be inside the Raikage's Office building. It made her feel small, but she enjoyed the architecture and that pretty much solved the problem. Demetri had not told her to go to the Academy, nor had the ANBU who was escorting her, so she made her way up to the Office and knocked on the door. Her escort remained at her side like a professional and Mononoke followed diligently, showing all the personality of a rock.

Hakki released his mom as she set him down, standing near her desk and leaning back against it. He waved as Demetri left, his gaze falling to the ground. He was slowly getting sleepy now and really wished he could ask his mom where he could live...and when he would get his own headband. Her office was still in shambles, it appeared but maybe she'd found one....?

It was a blessing that Bast had arrived at this point, everything was busy and even more so. Hakkin was growing tired, a shame. "Over here, Bast," Kin called simply, she stepped between the visitor and the boy nodding off gently. The door to the office opened, blackened and in pieces, it was a shame of a sight to see each time now over. The charred remains of the desk, which she kicked open. It had been hopelessly jammed before. In it remained some smudged plates, the warped to disappointment.
"Hakkin, I'll get a better one soon, but it will do," the raikage called to her boy, "And Bast... I'm sorry that the office looks as it does, but I was hoping for your assistance."

Hakki accepted the headband without a word but mostly because he was yawning madly and not because he was disappointed. The warped and scorched headband made him happy actually....he wasn't sure why. He looked at his mom sleepily and then at the woman she was speaking to "Where...should I go to sleep...?" he almost said 'mom' but in the presence of this new woman....he wasn't sure if he should. He wanted his mom to tell him that she had a place for him to go to...a place for him to rest. Hakki wasn't sure if he wanted to sleep but he did need to rest....he wasn't used to the craziness of the village yet.

Bast adjusted the tinting of her goggles ever so slightly just as Kin called over to her. Something had sounded strange about the door, and at first the woman had thought they had simply gotten a new one with darker wood; the weak sound that it gave off, however, confused her slightly. Seeing the charred and black remains of the Office before her, she realized that things had gotten more than just a little bit redesigned.

"As always, Raikage, ma'am, you have my assistance." She tipped a fake hat to the Village's leader, trying her best not to do anything that might aggravate the situation. Mononoke--the fake girl clad all in white fur--vanished in a puff of smoke now that Bast was more certain of her surroundings, but she neglected to send her armaments away as well. "What, exactly, would you have me do? Forgive me if I seem a bit cautious, but it isn't every day that an escort to a construction job gets killed."

Hakkin was wondering just exactly where to go next. There was an apartment leased in her name in the complex, not that she got to rest there often. "I'm sorry, I completely forgot to give this to you," Kin spoke up in a flash of remembrance, "Since you don't have a home in the village, there's an apartment for you to stay in." She tossed the key to the sleeping boy. It read the apartment number on the key chain. Whether or not he looked at the mailbox on the way in, it would simply read the last name. It was well enough, until she could build a new place closer to the village.

"I'm glad you'll oblige, Bast. I just wanted the blueprints redesigned, feel a little more like... me," the woman explained, "The base design is simple enough to work off of but-" Escort? Killed? "Was this the boy I sent to Suna?" She worked hard to maintain her composure at this point. A simple errand had turned faulty... Come to think of it, the Hojo girl hadn't come back yet either. There was some major problems going on. "I'm glad you're safe, to say the least."

Bast turned her head upward and appeared to be staring at the ceiling as the Raikage spoke, not out of disrespect, but because she was tracing the flowing lines of the building while listening. Old memories were resurfacing behind her unchanging expression.

"Demetri Hatake, I believe he was called. His clone found me at the Festival, but by the time I made it to the crossroads where he was waiting for me, he was dead. One last stick of Pocky in his mouth, too. The gate guards and medics took the corpse off of my hands when I entered the Village." She paused to mull something over, and when she spoke again, her tone was very formal and businesslike. "When I designed this tower, I set the Office atop the spiral stairs to symbolize the long journey to the heavens. The building was designed to be one solid structure that emphasized how small each person is, and at the top was a marble of the sky. You can probably see how this reflects who I am as a person, so let me ask you: Who are you? What is your role?"

Dai looked up at Haki as Kin took to business with Bast. He was tired and she could see it, how well his face wore such tired eyes. Dai stood very stood as kin and Bast talked back and forth but her eyes stayed on Haki. Dai looked at Bast as she spoke of how she had designed the Raikage's office. She never had thought of it like the way that Bast had mentioned it. The Sensor looked at Haki and then to Kin. "Um...Kin-sama?" She asked quietly. "Pardon the interruption. But Haki looks like he won't last another standing moment. Perhaps, I could take him back to your home and let him sleep there?" She asked with care. The small boy was tried and his chakra signature showed the small fluxes of sleep. Dai was worried, which was odd, but he was still so very small and his body needed its rest.
