And what a slow day it was. The Bast in the Office hadn't seen anyone in hours outside of the infrequent visits by the person who made her tea, and even that was rare at best. Her pale white hand would pluck a headband from the pile by the woman's desk, but would not hand it over just yet. It wasn't that he wasn't polite--in fact, he was one of the politest people she had met in a while--it was that there was something off about him. A quick assessment of recent profiles she had received from the Academy revealed that he was a member of the main branch of the Hyuuga family. She briefly wondered if he knew Manfread, but let the thought pass.

"You have no idea," she responded as she looked over his information. "You're Kisuke, yes? I want to make something very clear about your familial situation: as a Shinobi of Sunagakure, your loyalties will be to the Village first and to your family second. You will need to rely on yourself and yourself alone; your family will not be allowed to contact you while you're on missions, and any guards you may have received as a child due to your status will be turned away at the door. That said, you are free to use any and all resources at your disposal to help you grow the most. We'll help you if you need help and leave you be if you don't. Are these acceptable conditions?"

XXXXXKisuke stood head still bowed as the Kazekage spoke of his family. He understood most of this already but listened none the less. "Yes my lady." Kisuke smiled, he couldn't help it being a shinobi of the sand village and speaking to the kazekage was a priviliage. "My family will come second." Kisuke did have guards but they did not follow everywhere he went, as they didn't follow him to the Kazekage's office. As the Kazekage finished her speach to Kisuke, Kisuke stood looking at Bast for a moment, "Thank you," With that Kisuke turned and exited the Kazekage to do as she pleased closing the door behind him.

XXXXXKisuke followed the winding staircase down to the lobby passing the girl who had greeted him offering her a wave as he passed. "Later, got some training to do." He fashioned his biggest smile for her and walked out the door into the glaring sunlight. Kisuke replaced his ricehat and walked toward the Academy to begin his training as a true shinobi of the village hidden in the sand.

"Ah," the Bast gasped aloud, "he forgot his headband. What is it with kids these days? They're so fixated on things they forget important details and go from polite to rude in half a second!"

The woman sipped some tea, swished it around in her mouth, and pondered the situation while she enjoyed the warmth of the drink. She figured he would be back sooner or later, so she tossed the headband back onto the pile. She would spend the next few minutes muttering to herself about the fate of this newest generation before lapsing into silence once more.

XXXXXAs Kisuke made it half way down the street he stopped dead in his tracks. "Oops." his face flushed with color as he spun around and started back toward the Kazekage's office. How could he forget something so fundemental. Kisuke grumbled under his breath about having to return but he had to. As kisuke reached the door once more he removed his rice hat tucking it under his arm again waving to the young woman in the entrance of the Kazekage's office building. Quickly he made his way back up the stairs taking them two at a time in large steps.

XXXXX Once back to the office door he squeezed inside again. "Seems I have forgotten something Lady Kazekage." Kisuke bowed his head once more standing at attention as he spoke feeling rather dumb for forgetting to retrieve his headband, the entire reason he had come here in the first place.

Ukitiko zipped as fast as he could to the office and up the stairs screaming "2, 2 where are you, where's 5's steak!" Uki zipped into the Kazekage's office and screamed once more "Twoooooooooooooooooooo! I neeed STEAK!!!" Uki was being timed by 5, one of Mamorou's thingy mer bobs.. but Uki was determined not to let the muscly brute down!

The Bast chuckled and tossed the lad his headband as soon as he returned, not wanting to hold him up any longer than was absolutely necessary.

"No worries. Have fun!" she chimed, lifting her skull teacup to her lips. She took a long, deep breath and felt the steam from the drink fill her nostrils. Her head was full of its warm, bittersweet scent.

Oh how many food deliveries had Ukitiko done in his lifetime... 706 and this would be the 707. Uki took the order and smiled, bowed, and then zipped out just like a flash. Gone almost as soon as he had come in! One minute left, full sprint to the client, tch, so easy! To the Citadel!

XXXXXKisuke stood from his bow in time to catch the headband nodding to the Kazekage as he pivoted on his heels and left this office for real this time.

As soon as Kisuke left the Office, the Bast clone would disperse, leaving behind a pile of clothes and some weaponry. Insect-like pens would skitter out from the corners of the room and fold the pile of clothing before stacking it neatly on her chair, Kazekage hat on top. Her weapons would be leaned in a corner of the room and bound with steel thread, and afterward her pens would settle down on her desk. They would fold their spindly legs in to form a clip and would sit, perfectly in line with each other, like a new gift set of fancy writing utensils, all the while keeping a vigilant watch over her things.

Bast strolled up to her Office, opened the door hard enough to knock a few of the door guard's teeth loose, and waved at her secretary before heading upstairs. As soon as she got to the top of the stairs, she thought better and went back down. She used Tensha Fuuin to transfer her pertinent memories of the day to her secretary, requested a written report when possible, and then ascended once more to finally sit down in her Office. The pens that had lined up on her desk skittered excitedly away when she approached, the sound of their feet like so many crabs running across the floor. She slipped into the Kage robes and hat, sat down in her chair, swung her feet up onto her desk with a thud, and tilted her hat down slightly. Within a few minutes she would begin to snooze lightly.

Ukitiko ran to the Kazekage's office looking around for that number 2 person who gave him the food for 5. Uki felt bad for ditching 5 like that, but he was taking forever. "Ooooiiii, Twooooo sama." Uki yelled throughout the halls of the Kazekage's building. He also had word that an old friend from the academy graduated and had to be coming here soon anyway. So he just kept searching for two in the mean time to ask him about sealing jutsu.

Ren left home with sweaty palms and a knotted tongue. Today, she had to push past her foolish jitters and walk into the Kazekage's office, with courage and pride, to request her headband. She stopped amidst a group of townspeople to adjust her knapsack and take a deep breath. « It's the first day of the rest of your life, Ren. You always tell everybody to take risks to be strong but where is your strength now ? » Ren focused her eyes on the ground and began her walk.
With clentched fists, Ren ambled up to the Kazekage's office door. Emotional strength was something she did not possess in great amounts; finding courage to do something good for herself was never an easy feat. So Ren did the only thing she could when she got into a stressful situation. She put a smile on her face by reminding herself that she wouldn't be in front of this door if she hadn't put her heart and soul into her training. Ren rose her clenched fist and knocked confidently.

"Come in," Bast called out.

She exasperatedly shoved aside a few sheets of paper she had been reading and let her army of pens catch the sheets before they hit the floor. If Ren noticed any of them as she came in, chances were good that she would mistake them for stick bugs or some other kind of animal, since it wasn't every day that writing utensils would just get up and walk around on their own.
