"That one's size hampers his agility," Sentinel points at the largest of their opposition as Toranis's winds raise him and his ball and chain over his allies. Leaning forward he sails over Soveliss to land next to the warlord, "Use attacks it must avoid and it will fail."

Sentinel's shield bashes into the canine, killing the beast and sending it tumbling backwards until its' corpse skids to a halt some distance away. Meanwhile - Toranis' lightning daggers hammer into the huge creature, further singing its' fur.

The huge beast rears back, then rushes forward with its' shoulder low - smashing hard into Soveliss, throwing the poor Warlord back and to the ground. The large blue/fat creatures reach into their flesh once more, tearing out rather large chunks of themselves this time which both promptly hurl toward your group - it explodes it a wide burst (3), harming everyone a great deal with both fire and necrotic energies. The creatures then shuffle away, slipping behind some pillars to be out of view of your party.

[ Unfortunately, I don't believe Red Herring's fire resist helps at all here. >.<

Immediate interrupt: Interposing shield.

Sentinel sees the giant approaching, and steps forward as it bears down. Bringing his shield up he meets its bull rush with his shield and braces himself behind it. The whirling disk and his locked joints cancel out the beast's momentum and prevents it from striking the eladrin.


((I'm assuming the attack vs. soveliss is vs. AC. if not, ignore this, and could you state which defense you're attacking in the future please? Soveliss gets +4 power bonus to AC and Reflex vs the giant shoving attack.))

[ Sorry - Yes, it was vs. AC.
The others were vs. Reflex.

The +4 bonus (even a +1 bonus >.>) is enough to negate the attack/damage/knockback/prone. I'll edit and re-adjust the map for after Xavier's turn.]

Flinching once more as he's struck by bits of those creatures flesh, Xavier watches the massive beast knock the warlock backwards. That display helps him to decide that it is the bigger threat. Not to mention that it's the one closest to his allies so they can attack it more readily. Both his staves begin to glow again as he channels more magic from them.

"Icy powers from the cold heart of darkness, ensnare those that defy your will....ICE TOMB!"

Slamming the ends of his staves into the ground, the magic surges along the ground before erupting around the beast, attempting to encage it within a prison of ice.

The creature is unable to move out of the way and in an instant the entire beast is encased in a thick block of ice which takes up a chunk of the area before you. The two creatures who have been advancing on your flanks rush in at this event, throwing out two fiery hands toward Toranis and Red Herring - though only the former is successful, taking hold of the poor Dwarf and dragging him into the vicinity of the creature. Its' body suddenly flares out as Toranis reaches it, intense heat and flames flickering into the area around it and burning those near.

[ I1/I2 activate Flaming Aura as a minor action. I've marked this on the map with their red auras.

Toranis is grabbed.

@Soveliss: I'm not entirely sure on this point, but I believe Red Herring's fire resistance protects you from the ongoing 5 fire damage for this round so you take no additional damage.
