*salute Dragain* Sure thing! In that case if there's any harpies looking to get knocked down a peg by failure, or just some younger, more inexperienced ones looking to flub a capture, let me know!

Dixie Uta Forgive Azshara's questioning 'chirrup' . . I can change it if you wish. As I was writing I got hit with a little inspiration. I figured with Harpies being so musical (and mutants) they might be able to mimic various bird call which could be useful when communicating back and forth. . . especially in case enemies appear or things need to be discussed/decided in 'code'. So while they're hidden in trees or bushes or whatever, they can still communicate command without others knowing what's going on. I . . . I dunno. <<; Could be fun or useful. Just an idea. And I forgot to add, OMG I -LOVE- this idea!! 2nds that 3nodding

Its unlikely for them to make an alliance actually, because think of it this way - Aviania is a rather amiable Queen, wise and mellowed out due to age, is able to hear the spirits and has a power level over 9000 is still rather strong for an old lady. However, compare her to the more "hardcore" Harpies who might take over her position one day, like Bee's and Lee's girls, and you know that if she agrees on an alliance, those two will cause a war sooner or later by breaking the rules. =x You can only control yourself for so long, even if you're under direct orders from the Queen... And I really do not want internal conflict at the start of the Flock.
Anyway, to this herd, slavery is normal. Can those peaceful, friendly herds stand it? Epine's herd is going to come in and whack havoc for a cause your herds probably stand for, and the two Gryphons from Mouse's trivia will be doing the same... Will the warriors of those two herds stand with the females who take males as lowly slaves and pets?
Anyway, as a Queen, she must consider everything, and this includes how accepting an alliance will affect the Flock in the future. Morals will be corrupted for sure - first its "Do not take pets out of this and that herd's males", but what's next? Some of the younger Harpies are already soft and "corrupted", and some will certainly take it further than others. If there are more "abominations/freaks" than normals, then who is the real abomination/freak?
I dunno... I didn't want a warring herd since then RP will become complicated, but I wanted a herd where they are proud and aggressive when provoked. Of course, their customs, festivals and beliefs make the herd unique, but the most important thing is to stay true to the Flock's general character.
Well, I guess I can't give you a definite 'yes' or 'no' until I have the opinion of the majority of the owners here. I appreciate you giving the option, but for the Queen, its a no... Her muse is screaming in my mind, saying that her darlings are corrupted enough. However, I need to know how the rest of the Flock will react to the prospect of a merger. >.<; So...

Zahraa': *Stares blankly* What is this alliance concept you speak of? I'm not familiar with this term.
Lol, I don't see an alliance going over well. As you already said, Raa' and Cel would so not be able to keep the peace, no matter how much they may want to stick to the queen's orders. If they ran into someone from the other herd, specifically a male, and they were disrespectful to them, said the wrong thing, did the wrong thing, it'd probably be mighty difficult for them to simply walk away rather then demand respect or take it by force. I will go with what the Queen decides is best for the Flock.
I was just trying to give a way out 'claiming' lands so that you wouldn't have to go herd by herd to determine what has been 'claimed' by color so there could be access to different parts of the kawanii lands.

*nods* And I really appreciate it. I wish I can accept your offer because an alliance can be fun too, but I do not want it to end up in war. >.<; I also do not wish to compromise the herd's ways.
I do like your idea of just stating a more unspecific territory, so maybe we can do that instead...

icy baby black and blues Well i f that doesn't through one for a loop... Hmmmm... -looks at the map and ponders- What about this area? -snip- It's still near the mountains, has river access, and is still in the forest...??? Thanks for the suggestion, but I think I might go with Dixie's idea of having a "general" area rather than claiming land using the map. >.< I'm used to claiming land due to SoA RP, but I guess herds aren't as big a thing in Soq.

This be the official mule - once 3 days are over, I'll buy a trading pass and send an outfit over. <3 By then, I want to have things finalized so that this thread can be recycled and the new, permanent Flock thread is made. If you have more suggestions, please toss them out now or forever hold your tongue!
If you have a better, more impressive herd name, please toss it out! :'D Unless everyone is really good with "The Flock"... Mm, makes it sound like a movie! xD
THE FLOCK - Coming to theaters near you this coming 7 June! *shot*

Those fancy names always seemed very pretentious to me. The Flock alludes to a familial feel and a rather accepting group. It just seems more Homey.
