History: Thorin was born an heir to the throne of Erebor, a kingdom of caves inhabited by dwarven horses for many generations while his grandfather still reigned. It was a beautiful kingdom with veins of gold and gem deposits littering the walls and floors worn smooth over the years. The people were happy but happiness is a thing that cannot be caught and caged. It fled.
A herd of fire ulun'suti forced their way into the mountain, wishing to claim it for their own purpose, and left the dwarves to flee. The elf king Thranduil offered no assistance to the dwarven soquili not wanting to risk his own people. Many died that day and those that survived were made to leave their home behind to try and find somewhere safe to live.
The road was littered with dangers and Thorin lost his grandfather in a skinwalker attack. Barely a day later his father disappeared having gone mad. Many more died on the road before they eventually found a place in the western mountains to settle though it is not their home. For Thorin it never will be. He still seeks a way to reclaim his homeland from the Ulun'suti threat (no matter how difficult it may be) while still trying to protect his people.
