Jackie’s glare faltered as the man sat cross-legged on the floor, her eyebrows raised as he passed a comment on her anger, was it not normal to be angry with someone who invaded your personal space, twice? Frowning Jackie made her way back down the corridor, stopping a few feet away from his position, her body tensed and ready to make a dash for the door at the slightest sign of him moving from his spot on the floor.
“so lurking around a corridor is ‘fine’ then but not wishing to be here isn’t…..and people think I am strange…” crossing her arms the brown haired woman sighed, she had only ever encounter a few people stubborn enough to force her to talk for longer than one sentence. scowling Jackie held up her right hand, all five digits splayed as she eyed the door, she had no idea why but she had a feeling that is she didn’t humour the aggravating man that she wouldn’t get a moments piece even if she returned to the actual party, “5 minutes, then you can go back to lurking around your corridor and I can go back to my corner that way you have whatever scrap of convocation you’re looking for and I don’t have to set eyes on you after this encounter, got it?!”pulling her hand back Jackie crossed her arms, the latter half of her sentence coming out as more of an order then a suggestion as she waited for him to start whatever he wanted to talk about.(( >.< is he sat in front of the door? or across from it...))

Marie took her phone back from Kael. She glanced at his newly programmed address briefly before she placed the small device back into her purse. She nodded, listing to his lack of set plan. Going with the feeling of the work it seems, ballsy but it usually produced the best pieces. "Okay. Well...I'm looking forward to it nonetheless." She said with ample excitement in her voice. It was at that moment that there was a change in the music. Marie set her half nursed glass of wine down, no longer feeling like just standing at the edges of the room and chatting. She wanted to dance, wanted to join the elegantly swirling couples out in the middle of the marble floor. As the tango infused Beethoven filled her veins, she lightly pulled on Kael's hand. "Care to dance with me?"

Looking down as she gripped his hand lightly and pulled at him towards the dance floor. Getting this one to become a host didn't seem that difficult currently his own preferences leaned towards people who were artistic. Tho those with poor lives and wallowing in despair was a taste he quite enjoyed as well but this girl to his best thoughts was not the second type. "I don't see how I would be able to refuse an offer with you being so eager." Moving with her as they got to the dance floor he moved his hand spinning her in a circle before pulling her close with a smirk before beginning to dance. Each step he made perfectly in time with the music and seemingly effortlessly executed

Valen shrugged at the girl's commentary without giving it much thought, tilting his gaze upwards to take in her full figure against the lesser lighting of the corridor. "Five minutes? That's hardly enough time. And even if it was, you're worth the effort of cornering for at least an hour," he laughed softly, folding his arms back underneath his head comfortably. He had to admit she was quite determined to be rid of his presence, almost a match for his own drive to bother her. Of course, there was never any doubt he was the more stubborn of the two, and he raised himself back onto his feet in preparation to defend that point. "And lurking around a corridor isn't fine if you're alone. But with a pretty girl as company, it's a hell of a lot more fun," he smirked before adding onto his statement. "Even if she's currently looking as though she's a cute deer in headlines determined to fight to the death with me. Then again what do I know. I'm strange right?" Leaning back against the wall now giving her a clear exit back to the main party he settled on three questions he would like to ask immediately. "As for what to talk about...First, who believes you're strange? You're the most normal girl I know. Second, why are you so concerned with your left side? And third, why don't you want to be here at this party in spite of your current presence?"
((In front of the door. Sorry for being unclear.))

Jackie’s face once again flared a vibrant red, her cheeks puffed out in embarrassment towards his comment “…I…I’m not a deer I’m a human!.....and after 5 minutes I’m leaving, consider yourself lucky I’m still here!” turning her head Jackie glared down the corridor, determined not to look at the man in front of her “besides saying things like that after you’ve been lurking in a dark corridor only makes you sound creepy!” releasing an aggravated sigh the brown haired woman turned back to face him, her eyes fastened on a spot just next to his head.
Subconsciously Jackie raised her hand, once again covering her left eye as her face fell from an aggravated scowl into a bitter smile “you are strange” although his comment wasn’t one of the three questions she wasn’t going to miss an opportunity to make a personal dig towards him “…My parents and most other middle aged adults think that I’m strange due to my dislike of interaction with large crowds or people in general, they think it’s odd that a 20 year old woman would prefer to sit in her room for a week then mingle outside with her peers, that’s also the reason for not wanting to be here” snorting Jackie finally levelled her glare with the man, her blush not as viciously red as previous. “also you don’t know me so don’t assume I’m normal!” Her avoidance of the second question almost as obvious as her annoyance towards having to interact with another (supposed) human.

((It's long, bear with me. Introductions are always this way so it should come down with the next post. The top of the post is the Now, the rest of the post leads up to it. Yes my character has gone and disturbed Mr Paendragon and the shy one eyed kid, as long as Snuggle and Zerix don't mind.))
The door to the hallway opened and the jovial noises of the party echoed down both ways of the path. An impeccably well dressed man, with a wide smile on his face, entered and disturbed the privacy of Valen's and Jacqueline's edgy meeting. He wore a shirt, vest and tie combination underneath a black tuxedo jacket which was buttoned up over his front. His white hair was the most surreal feature out of his otherwise above-human standard of good looks.
The man stopped smiling and looked more in surprise at the two figures. "Oh, my apologies." Nicholas spoke quietly. "I don't suppose this is the way to the bathroom..." His voice trailed off as his eyes went over the two figures.
By smell he already knew the man was a vampire. By being as resourceful as he was, he already knew it was Valen Paendragon of the Immortui. Even though it was unlikely the Immortui would be barbaric enough to start a fight in such a public place, Nicholas was not keen on starting any kind of squabble with this man, even though the hint of lipstick on Valen's lips did tick him off badly. No gentle affection would have rubbed it off so firmly on the vampire's own mouth, and the color fit the color of the human's lips. 'Pervert.' Nicholas insulted the vampire in his mind instantly. It was high time to break this up.
The girl was a far harder puzzle to solve, yet she had very clear hints about her person. A figure showing lack of strenuous physical activity, one eye clearly lacking the ability of sight, and unless that broken accessory on the floor belonged to the male then she had certain personal issues which made her avoid the party. A big clue about her personality. There were many important, in the farthest sense of that word, people at this party, but which family of humans could this one belong to?
Nicholas began going over his memories, like records in a filing cabinet, about the people attending this party. Wayan had no living blood relatives, mostly due to the work his father had participated in on his free time. None of the Johnson's daughters were this young. The child of the De Maisse was blind in both eyes, not one... This girl... was a mystery. Did she belong to the Immortui? Nicholas instantly felt he was losing his touch. If she was here, how did he not know her? The vampire would never have guessed she was the daughter of the O'Conner's. This was most likely due to the fact she shied away from public occasions such as this party. Oh it would be a surprise, no doubt, if he ever found out.
"Are you quite alright?" Nicholas asked calmly, fixing his posture and standing up straight. The girl was very obviously distraught whereas the vampire seemed more than ready to jump her and bleed her dry. The doorway leading to the party was clear as Nick had opened the door wide and was standing enough to the side to allow others to pass.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Several hours ago... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Nicholas was dressing up in his fancier clothes in front of a tall mirror. His attention was not on the buttons his fingers were closing up though, but on the female vampire offering him a curious looking pastry. For some reason, there was a hint of green and blue in it. "Anna, we have to get ready. I'm sure they'll serve food there."
But nothing could stop the Origin from making him eat the results of her newest experiments in cooking. He would have felt a little safer if she had taken up medicine, specifically surgical practice. That was because one of the humans was still in the hospital after eating one of Anastasie's first attempts at cooking, poor man. Oh it was not her fault, they just should not have kept a certain ingredient in the kitchen - of course she would end up trying it. Maybe he was being too concerned, some of her food was excellent. Nicholas smiled, rolled his eyes, and took the pastry off of his Origin's fingers with his lips, like a hungry duckling. He nipped affectionately at the tips of her fingers in the process. And his fears were quite justified... Nicholas kept on a brave face as he swallowed the food. "Alright darling, would you like to get ready now? We do not wish to be late." Her dedication to her work was truly admirable but he had to keep her on track in these situations.
~~~~~~~~~ The Party... ~~~~~~~~~
For the next half an hour the Consort and Origin prepared together for the party being held at the Wayan manor. When ready, they took a ride from the Cognitio home over to the site of the ball. There was little worry for being late of course - They arrived early at the time when the party was just starting to fill up with attendees. While Anastasie's time was most likely spent in discussion with friends of the clan, mostly about her newest interests, Nicholas had business partners he had to meet. These were mainly heads of local universities and the like. He did concentrate on staying with her during the majority of their time there of course, a hundred more years would not in the slightest diminish his affection for her.
When the Immortui arrived, as did the host of the party, Nicholas' mood was brought down - even if just slightly. Their mannerisms really brought a bad name to vampire kind, no matter what a kind face they could pull on. It was because of the cruelty of the Immortui that there were Vampire Hunters. It was unlikely anyone would hunt a group of eternally young scholars that at least respected human life Silly humans of course put all vampires in the same basket, murderous hunters of man...
They continued their socializing, while Nicholas felt compelled to keep an eye on the other Vampires at the party. This was when he noticed the Immortui consort slip away from the rest of the party.
'My, what a bother.' Nicholas thought. He squeezed Anastasie's hand and pecked her cheek. It was so pleasantly soft under his lips. He pushed his hair away from his face and whispered, "I'll be back soon."
((Ugh I feel like something is missing, but I don't wanna look at it again now that it's done.))

A soft giggle escaped her lips as Kael agreed to her request. Heading out to the dance floor, she half expected that they would be a sort of fumbling pair in comparison to the others one the dace floor (some of which she suspected were hired in order to keep the guests entertained when no one else was dancing.) But as it turned out, much to her surprise, Kael was quite fluent in his movements, and she was fairly graceful in following his lead. The skirt of her dress fanned out around her as she spun around, and lead into the next steps, following the music's sensual rhythm.
((Bah...need to....not get writers block...>.<)

((No problem to me at all. Also, I appreciate your character already so you have my utmost thanks.))
How had he failed to register a presence creeping up on him so close before his senses reacted in time? The Consort of the Immortui tilted his head at the interrupting intruder, his expression of playful mirth still plastered onto his features as the equivalent of a mask. Vampire. His nostrils flared immediately at the new scent of the third man, his own reaction one of distaste. How was there a vampire here? I would have thought only the Immortui, save Syren of course, had bothered responding to Wayan's invitation. Valen was soon being abused of his notion for assumption-he should have known never to expect that life, at least his life, wouldn't bring in a few sudden surprises to keep him vigiliant in case of the worst. The first thought on his mind gazing upwards towards the standing Nicholas was a singular phrase both insulting and seemingly apt in his mind. Annoyance. Even had the man been part of his Clan he would not have taken to him as well as he had to say, Kael'thas. No, it was an immediate dislike bordering on the cusp of a more deep-rooted resentment. He was an outsider, a third party from one of the few Clans left in the world, and as such he was a threat. That he had intruded upon his time spent with the girl was merely additional fuel to fan the flames so to speak.
His reaction to the girl irked him however; it appeared to Paendragon that the newcomer was posturing as though he were some sort of hero come to whisk her away from him. Again, Annoyance echoed within the recesses of his thoughts, his expression betraying nothing of his sentiment although he could not say the same of his scent. He could already feel his appetite fading away as though being drained out of his body via a physical funnel; the man's mere presence was enough to redirect his thoughts to one of aggression. Saying nothing, merely giving him a glance and a shrug to keep him out of any further concern, Valen turned back to address Jackie in response to her last statements. "I would never assume you were normal. You're far too...intriguing, yes that's the word, intriguing, to be deemed as mundane as the term 'normal'. But you neglected to speak about my second question my dear "I...I'm not a deer I'm a human!" companion." Ignoring Nicholas would seem to be the best approach to the situation, as he had no immediate reason (beyond general instinct) to attack. Yet.

Jackie jumped the hand that was clamped over her left eye tightening as she turned towards the door, visibly flitching when she noticed another male had now entered the already tense atmosphere of the hall.
Turning her head the brown haired woman looked towards her first problem, the man that had cornered her into convocation, then back towards the new comer who seemed to be analysing her like a piece of paper. A thick feeling of dread settling in her stomach as she refocused her attention towards Paendragon, Just as Jackie was about to help valen cut across her, his immatation of her voice causing her face to flare a vibrant red once more. Growling in frustration Jackie yanked up her fringe, her glazed over eye now fully visible to both males “I was a part of the high school bus crash, I lost the site in my left eye…” Frustrated by the almost rude imitation of her embarrassment Jackie turned towards the new male, an almost pleading look in her right eye. “that’s why I was frightened when you repeatedly approached my left side!”

((^,...,^ woo post. Don't say crappy :3 It's very good, nothing else you needed to add.))
Nicholas had turned to look at the vampire, expecting Valen's reaction first. The man just shrugged and continued his chat with the girl. Well, his body may not lie about his desires nor that expression of amusement, but the Immortui could at least behave, apparently.
Nicholas looked to the girl then. As she moved her hand it allowed perfect sight of the dull grey orb that was her injured eye. He did not have to wonder how it may have happened when she mentioned the accident outright. He knew quickly what she meant, and who she was...
That school bus belonged to an institution that was financially supported by the Cognitio. It was the last clue he needed. He felt relieved that the mystery was dispelled. The incident had been quite a shock, though thankfully most of the humans survived with minimal injuries. Then there were cases like hers, Jacqueline O'Conner, who did not do so well. He could only make the assumption he had not recognized her because she had been at the hospital for an awful long time, and as such her parents would not have mentioned her.
A very hopeful student the Cognitio had been seeking to adopt to the clan did not survive the injuries suffered from that crash. Nicholas wondered how successful this young girl could have become since.
The look of recognition disappeared off his features and Nicholas smiled apologetically. "I'm so sorry, I did not mean to alarm you." He spoke softly. Nick moved his hand and gestured out the door, back toward the party. "There's an awful tension in here, why don't we all go back to the party and try to relax." The girl seemed more than just frustrated, especially concerning the bit of chat he had just heard exchanged between the Immortui and the human. It was best to break this up.
