The Demon King's Contest 1: Finished!

The blade pierced Cullingblade's body, sapping a considerable amount of spiritual power as the wound regenerated. She gave a roar of rage, and her spiritual pressure rose immensely, causing physical pain to anyone within her range. She broke into a run, utilizing her incredible speed to gather momentum, and attack with one final punch at the end of a great many speed-gathering laps.

((Last defense!))

MIKA cried out as Cullingblade's final attack knocked her to the ground. She rolled and slid on the ground, eventually falling right out of the arena.

Cullingblade chased after the Youkai, intending to finish her off. She prepared a powerful slash with one of the blades in her heels. Her spiritual pressure was still very high, so she augmented the killing blow with it. Instants before the attack would connect, a voice rang out across the arena.
"Bankai!" An instant later, Daisuke's Shunpo brought him between the Yukai and the Hollow to stop the attack. Cullingblade felt a sizable portion of her strength leave her as the Shinigami's Bankai did its work.
"Enough! Stand aside, Shinigami! How dare you stop the champion from completing the match!" screamed the trollish referee.
"Match's over. There is no need to kill this girl." Daisuke replied coolly.
"Step aside!" repeated the ref. "You're already facing disqualification. Do you want to be executed, as well!?"
"It's fine." Cullingblade said softly. She cast a glowing eye over to her small companion, remembering what it felt like to spare his life. Perhaps it would be no harm to spare the Youkai, as well. Daisuke resealed his Zanpakuto and helped MIKA up as the Hollow walked quietly away, her companion in tow.

Haruka approached the ring, skipping slightly. She had been looking forward to this match. It would be her first time facing off against a Quincy. She stretched her arms high above her head and loosened up for the fight.
Before the match started, she ran up to her opponent with a smile.
"I've really been looking forward to our match! Good luck!" she beamed.
She went back to her start position and awaited the signal.

Gabriele smiled happily.
"I'm flattered! This'll be fun." She loosened her Quincy's cross and summoned her bow. She prepared to use her Hirenkyaku to counter the young Youkai girl's wind powers. The trollish referee lumbered back into the ring and separated the two combatants. He lifted his hand, and brought it down swiftly.
"Fight!"

I shouldn't take this lightly, Haruka thought, dashing forward. Gotta start out strong.
She drew her hand back, filling her palm with a miniature whirlwind. With a quick thrust, she launched the wind attack at Gabriele, the whirlwind growing quickly in size at it traveled across the arena.

Gabriele focused her spiritual pressure, but was unable to maintain her position. The violent wind slammed her into the nearest wall. She coughed for a moment and recovered in time to fire only a single arrow.

Haruka waved her hand lazily in front of her, conjuring a breeze that blew the arrow completely off course. It missed her by several feet.
She then focused her energy into her foot, surrounding her ankle in air currents. Rushing at her opponent, she performed a butterfly twist, throwing the air off her ankle in a powerful, concentrated wave.

Again the air caught Gabriele and carried her into the unforgiving embrace of a solid wall. She growled with frustration and brought her bow to bear on her opponent. Gabriele aimed for the heavens.
"Licht Regen!" She unleashed a salvo of vertically launched spirit arrows.

Haruka sent a strong current of wind up into the air, slowing and knocking many of the arrows aside. She dodged and weaved, trying to escape from as many of the arrows as possible, hands over her head to protect her vital areas. Several arrows pierced the flesh of her forearms and shoulders however.
Haruka fell to her knees as blood sprayed from her wounds and more arrows met their mark.
As soon as the barrage finished, she rolled forward and gained her feet once more. She drew out both of her sai and leaped forward, slashing at her opponent and slashing with her sai in an X shape.

The sai left their mark on Gabriele's arm as she protected her face. Drawing a Seele Schneider, she slashed in retaliation.

Haruka groaned in pain as the blade ripped open the skin of her shoulder. The energy traveled through her body causing major pain, but she shook it off as best she could. She backed quickly away from Gabriele. In a swift motion, she swept her arms down, slamming a strong current of air on top of her opponent.

The Quincy gasped as she saw how deep the inflicted wounds were. She had not meant to main. While she was distracted, the wind caught Gabriele off guard , sending her own weapon tumbling across her torso, severely wounding her. She bent her bow once more and release another powerful shot.

Despite Haruka's best effort to dodge, the arrow pierced her shoulder. She groaned, covering the wound with her hand. Blood leaked through her fingers, staining her skin. In a final attack, she ran forward, concentrating the last of her energy into her hand. She thrust her charged open palm, at Gabriele.
