Migel
"Sorry." he said again, with a small grin this time, jumping back a step when she swung around, ready to dodge if she swung at him. He, too, kept a hand on Marinel's arm, fearing the brother might do something rash that could put them all at risk. As the dragonet moved on, however, and Saimwen and Jarah arrived, he felt confident enough to let go, retreating back to where Cesare was standing. It was clear that whoever got in the bronze's way was dead meat. And he had no intention of letting that
He shot a look towards Shahera as well. 'Be careful', it said. He'd seen that murderous look in her eye when she'd first turned around and knew what she'd been thinking about. Depending on how things went, he'd be thinking it to. But that was easily death for either of them.

He had found himself unintentionally holding his breath several times already, but that had been due to excitement and this was to keep from smelling the blood. Oerlen had always been one to try and coax a smile out of those who were upset, but, as a rule, he didn't jump into a fight he knew he couldn't win and he was definitely no healer. Someone had to interfere who could actually get something done, and it wasn't going to be one of his fellow candidates. Oer looked to Vimiath, Blundarth, the little green, the orange and purple egg as it lurched. Still, he didn't move as he answered Kambri, his eyes finding the bronze once more.
"I don't know."
Even though his body was still, one treacherous thought flashed through his mind. Maybe it would be better if this one went Between.

Rylyrr
The hatching had moved away now to attack some other poor unlikely sod. Rylyrr moved slowly, not to attract the hatchlings attention, coming over to the mauled young man and that… that was bad looking. Head injuries usually just looked worse then they were, but his breathing was a bit worrying. “Can I move you to the healers?” He questioned, Dolmar, looking over the candidate. It would be a tad awkward, but he could manage carrying the other to the healers.

~Haukai and blue Corymth~
First it was a normal Hatching, and then it wasn't. Haukai bounced up and down on the balls of her feet, waiting for the bronze dragonet to grow tired of mauling the Candidate. She knew enough not to go racing out there to treat him -- that was suicide. But that was her first instinct as a Trauma Healer: get to the patient as quickly as possible, triage him, get him to the Infirmary. It was so hard for her to fight that instinct.
Then she saw that the bronze had shifted its anger to someone else. "GET HIM OFF THE SANDS!" she bellowed as loudly as she could amidst the screaming and shrieking and horrible laughter of the dragonet. "OVER HERE, TO THE HEALERS!" Adrenaline began to course through her veins as she dug through her crash kit for bandages and numbweed salve. She hoped they could get him away from that beast before it attacked again.

Miach (HR)
To say Miach was shocked to see the dragon leap from the boy to one next to him would have been an understatement, but at least that one had gotten into a ball to protect himself. The boy who had been helping her with Dolmar moved over to the other boy to try and help, telling her to stay with him. Like she was going to do anything else. Miach knew that Dolmar was in a worse state then whatever the boy next to him was currently facing--for one most of his vital parts were covered--unlike Dolmar's had been. When she looked back at the boy who had collapsed, her hands still around one of his arms and likely not making him feel any better--there was a fellow candidate-healer hovering over him.
"H-Here, I'lllll d---dragggg him ovvv--er th-e---ere." Miach said to the healer and those now surrounding the boy. Miach turned her eyes to the boy being mauled and sent him a look as if to say: I wish I could help you too but you're probably okay for now. Then, she quickly began to drag the boy over to the healers as quickly as she could all while trying to be careful with his wounds and the healer who was trying to keep him from bleeding out all over. This was going to be interesting. At least some of the other eggs were starting to move about. One of which she noticed to be the Angel egg. That had been one of her favorites that she had met during the touching and she hoped it would help. Or maybe the Hellhound would put a stop to the bronze? One could only hope.

His head was still swimming, clogged by the haze of pain. Why were they asking to move him? Shouldn’t they just do it? He was clearly a mess...he had to get cleaned up. A new robe, his dazed mind demanded. His bronze was coming, and he looked a mess. Still, he managed another nod. “Make...Marinel. Don’t leave him...near that.” He hissed the word, a fine spray of blood flecking from his lips—though thankfully only from where it had dripped down, not been breathed up from inside.

Rylyrr "I'm sure they will keep them safe, and girl, don't drag him." Rylyrr sigh and knelt down, carefully picking up Dolmar, shifting so he was supported as well as he could be and started to walk over to the healer. "I'm sure your brother will be well protected," he said as he walked swiftly and quickly to Haukai. "Where do you want him." Rylyrr asked when he finally got close.

The bronze was more than disappointing now, it was pathetic, and Dezerac regarded it with disdain as it leapt to savage a second Candidate. He'd shed his fair share of blood, and sometimes he even enjoyed it, but never just because. Dragons were supposed to be more than this, shardit! This one was less a dragon and more a beast, a wher with more intelligence than it deserved, using its physical power to maim and terrify for no reason other than that it could. But no matter how disgusted he was, the man made no move to interfere. Others had already tried, and it had only redirected its attentions onto another bystander, and besides that, they were all strangers to him. What became of them was no concern of his, particularly when he knew there was not a thing he could do. All anyone could do was wait for the Demon to tire of its violence and find its rider, but the way things were going, that could be a very long wait. He was peripherally aware that the Siren had emerged a green, and other eggs had finally begun to move, but he couldn't spare them any attention. His focus stayed on the bronze, where it would buy him precious seconds if the creature came his way. ------ So much for that conversation. Everything he might have said in response to Lennik and Alya went directly out the window when the bronze from the Demon egg started viciously laying into first one Candidate and then another. Rio wanted to be sick. He wanted to cry out, he wanted to do something to stop it, but they'd all been taught not to interfere, and logic agreed. There was nothing anyone could do except move its victims to the Healers as soon as it gave them a chance, and it looked as though that was being done with the first while it was busy with the second. Meanwhile, Alya clung to Lennik, and Rio reached out a hand to grip her shoulder and share a look with the other young man. "It's alright. We won't let anything happen to you." It was quite the promise to make, but he meant it.

Aislin
"He's fine. Marinel is fine." Aislin quickly reassured him. She had no idea where Marinel was, in fact, but she knew he wasn't the only other candidate currently being mauled, so she was sure he was doing okay.
She looked up at Rylyrr, then back down at Dolmar, biting her lip. He could have internal damage, broken ribs, head injuries, all which could be made worse by them moving him. But given the circumstances, and knowing that no help would be able to get to them, none of that was worse than bleeding out like he was going to if they didn't help him.
She nodded. It would be better if they had more people (or, ideally, a board to stabalize him on, but that seemed unlikely). "Try to move him as smoothly as possibly." she said, getting on his other side to try and keep his injuries stable while they moved him.

Iathe Her hands shook as she curled them into fists, torn between horror and outright rage. She understood what the boys were trying to do--save one of their own, but as a result, now another one was being savaged like a hunk of meat. Taking a deep breath as other Candidates rushed to help the one wounded boy, she quickly strode over to where Ladellan was shouting at the bronze in an attempt to distract him. "You understand the risks in this?" She asked him, her voice low and her eyes never leaving the bronze hatchling. She hoped he did, because suddenly, she was kicking sand hard in the dragonet's direction, also trying to catch it's attention. "Enough! Come on, then!" She was going to have to run and run hard, if she even had a chance. If she didn't... there was a very real chance that other boy was going to die. Sinders Path Whoops she left to be dumb.

LennikAyla hiding her face against his shoulder made him square up to his full height, which while not big, made him feel big, and that was what mattered. Still, like many other candidates, the sight of the demon needlessly savaging his fellow candidates made anger roll up inside of him, his brows furrowing darkly as he forced himself to stay put. Not that it had helped the candidate who was.....dead? Were they dead or just playing it? He couldn't tell from there and since he'd made himself a shield, he refused to move needlessly. There was no need to attract a dragon to him, after all. "There's no reason any of us have to end up hurt, but I think we'll all feel better once that one impresses," he snarled under his breath, the 'positive' thoughts in his mind going to anger and disdain. He certainly wasn't the only one who thought that either. Still, more eggs were starting to shake and move. How many would have this same temper?

~Haukai and blue Corymth~ "Put him right here, on the stretcher." Haukai gave Dolmar a quick once-over, guiding the very tall Candidate as he placed him on the fabric litter. He was literally a bloody mess; the healer grimaced at the degree of damage that had been done to him by the bronze dragonet's teeth and claws. The laughter haunted her; what kind of creature could deliberately do something like this? She recalled her history lessons, from when she was a Candidate herself. Hadn't that kind of aggression been bred out of them? Turning to her patient, she started working on him, checking his airway and breathing and heartbeat. "Can you talk?" she asked.

Weyrlingmaster Liat & blue OriothThe woman stood just outside the Hatching Grounds, arms crossed, waiting. Her blue Orioth relayed anything she couldn't see from her position, though her thoughts whirled a mile a minute. There were buckets lined up of meat, with pails filled -- likely more than would be necessary -- for hungry stomachs. She heard the cries go up when a dragonet mauled a Candidate, and then another, but did nothing. She wanted him to quit with his games and Impress. The sooner he found his the sooner he would settle -- and once he came into her care, she would not tolerate this sort of behavior. Orioth hummed welcome, but could only wait. The sooner these babies Hatched and Impressed, the better. DharzolRasthell was horrified at the actions of the bronze. This wasn't how he thought the Hatching would begin, and if he pulled Dharzol closer, he couldn't help it. He knew what the man had gone through Turns ago, what lost-love he still hurt for and that Rasthell could never compare to. He knew his history, and did not want him to become distressed. "It's okay, love," he tried to assure, though his own words were a bit shaky. "This is the dark side of Hatchings. The stuff Harper's don't get into. I hope they'll be okay," he added quietly. He also hoped the creature stayed far, far away. He didn't want it near, and Faranth help it if it tried to get them. For now, though, they were safe. CedarianShards and shells! Cedarian felt his stomach drop as he went white as a sheet when the creature started savaging Dolmar. Everything happened so quickly, he hardly knew what to do! Dolmar was going to get killed! He almost jerked forward, as if he could pull the creature off, but he stopped himself and stepped back instead. This was what they were supposed to do, wasn't it? It felt so . . so wrong! The blood, the savageness -- this wasn't what he'd expected! No one had done anything wrong! Surely, Dolmar couldn't have upset him so! And that laughter... It was wicked! Ah, but then when the beast turned on Gavryl, it leaped past him, and clipped him with one of his spread wings. He stumbled back further, surprised, but not hurt -- at least not in the way these two boys were being torn to pieces. This was madness! He glanced around wildly, as if to confirm they really were just supposed to stand there. For once, his pompous and arrogant walls fell, and a moments genuine fear and concern was apparent. He wasn't sure where to look -- his one friend was being tended by healers, and this other....person... was still being savaged. He stepped back again, heart racing, and feeling, suddenly, quite delicate and out of place. R'mor & JunenethJunenth did flare his wings when Vimiath moved, quite suddenly, closer to where Akaris stood. He would not let the queen attack, if that was her intention. Sweet Vimiath, your eggs and hatchlings need you, Vimiath. Focus on them if you can. He encouraged, unsure why the gold would suddenly come this way. Nothing had happened, no one had done anything wrong. If the bronze was defensive, or protective, he could not be blamed. With Talela no longer here to keep her in line, he wasn't sure what she might do. R'mor, for his part, took a few steps ahead of A'ral and the two girls now huddled behind him. "It's okay, girls. It'll be okay." He glanced back at A'ral, and then peeked down at the new addition, Nebbi. Poor thing... She looked young, impressionable. Glancing back, he crossed his arms, waited, and hopdd. He did not want this to become a blood bath. KiriThe girl's eyes went wide when the bronze suddenly attacked not one, but two of the boys. It was . . . not what she expected a hatchling to do. "That's not right, is it? Are they - - do they usually just attack?" She knew to stay out of their way, but these boys hadn't done anything as far as she could tell. And its eyes looked blue, not red with anger. Shaffit.... "I felt that one's anger," she confessed. "I didn't touch it, but I was close enough. It had... It was strong enough to make me irritable. Think it's going to come out mad?" She asked quietly, unsure if she should tempt fate or not. So long as the eggs hached one by one, maybe they'd be all right. . . . an then "Iathe!" She hissed, as the girl ran towards the dragon. Eyes wide, she glanced at Roana. They weren't supposed to be playing hero!

Don't spend another moment looking at those ghastly boys, Amramine! How dreadful that this was all happening when the focus should have been on her! Her brother could be such a brute sometimes, couldn't he? The little Green had at last found the source of that lovely remark. I am beautiful. Say it again for your Seirath! Humming softly, the dragonet nudged Amra's white robe with all of the grace of a grand lady. She'd waited such a long time to be noticed. How lovely of Hers to be the one clever enough to see what a wonderful Green she was. Turning adoring rainbow eyes upon her chosen, she awaited a proper response.

Martirae
And now that little orange and red egg was moving and shaking! Marty allowed her attention to look between it and the green on the sands, making herself not pay attention to the boys being mauled. Certainly, they didn't deserve it, but again.....
Clearly that green wasn't for her. She watched as the Siren found her chosen, only a moment to watch them meet before she sighed deeply and pulled in the tendrils of want that had ever reached out for it. Good. She guessed. For Amra.
