Reaver raised kuro hoshi to block Shawn's strike. However this only resulted in the blade being blasted apart by Shawn's power. As the sword broke a shard of it flew past Reaver's face cutting his cheeck. Not wanting to suffer the same fate as his weapon Reaver quickly jumped back several feet. He looked at what remained of kurohoshi and boredly tossed the chunk of metal aside "that was a gift from my father you bastaard" he said chuckling a bit at the thought of his father's prized possession being destroyed. He ran his fingers along his cheek and slowly licked the blood from his fingers. "hey vampire, getting hungry yet?" he said looking over at Desmund

Desmund ignored Reaver's remark. he was to focused on shawn. He had shown considerable strength and both he and james seemed to be working well cohesively. His expression remained bored and inattentive but inside his mind he was cheering them on.

Reaver stood in place as the two made their moves. However as Jame's came into striking distance Reaver smirked and snapped his fingers. the small amount of chi he had left inside Kuro hoshi erupted from the jagged fragment as a small spike of energy that shot straight for jame's head.

Reaver took a second to admire his handy work and paid for it as he was knocked to his back by Shawn's strike. He propped himself up on his elbow and carefully rubbed his chin. Smiling he rose back to his feet and brushed himself off. "not to say that this little game of ours is getting boring, but I'm starting to get hungry so lets play a little game shall we?" he asked as he pointed back at the city. "its called 'see how many innocent by standards you can save from getting devoured" he chuckled again as he sank down into a pool of darkness and remerged at town square. he stood stoically waiting for them to arrive.

Desmund cursed under his breath "damn, we've got to save them" he looked over to the others and motioned for them to pursue him "not that I'm picking sides or anything but since he's going to be distracted you might as well take the chance to kill him why he's eating" even if reaver was far away he didn't want to risk him thinking Desmund was on their side. He had no idea how advanced Reaver's senses might be.

Toni watched them fight. After Shawn's mother was killed she knew she wasnt any match for Reaver. She hated sitting there and looked at Emily to wonder if she felt the same way, watching Shawn fight. She saw as Reaver ran toward the town and heard Desmund tell them to go after them and Shawn give chase. She stopped herself from following Shawn and looked over at James, who hadnt made a move after he retreated and wondered if he was hurt.

Toni's eyes widened as she walked over to James. She put her hand on his shoulder and tried to make sure the rest of him was all right. She pushed back some of his hair to try and see his injury, "Do you think its permanent?", she asked quietly, worried for him. She knew how terrifying not being able to see for a for minutes was, but hours or days? She bit her lip as she thought and turned her attention back to James.

Reaver smiled as he saw shawn approach. he let out a growl of satisfaction and dropped down onto all fours. His body began to twitch and contort as masses of black hair began to grow from his body. His face warped into that of a wolf's and claws began to jut out of his fingers. However this wasn't the worse part of his transformation, he was actually increasing in size. not the normal feet or two taller that some became. He had grown atleast two stories tall as his wolf transformation neared completion. He let out a mighty roar that shattered the windows of the nearby windows and even shook the ground itself. Needles to say the citizens of the city had begun to flee in terror. As a man and his wife ran by Reaver stamped down on them with his foot pinning them to the ground. he leaned down and grabbing them with his teeth flung them into the air and caught them in his gaping maw. "gota love the taste of the outback" he said smiling down at the now relatively minuscule shawn.

Toni nodded and then realized that he couldnt see that so she added, "All right.", she queezed his shoulder and then went back over to the helicopter. She radioed for back up and once she recieved conformation that it was on its way she went back to James. She knelt down beside James, "They said that they are mobilizing.", she said and then stiffened when she heard Reaver's roar. She looked over her shoulder toward the city, "Should me and Emily go and help Shawn?", she asked, half to herself.

Toni sighed and sat down on the ground. She wondered how long it would be before their reinforcements got here. She felt useless and realized, surprisingly, that James was probably feeling exactly the same way. She crossed her legs and she reached up and tugged one of his hands away from his eyes, "Rubbing your eyes wont make your sight return any faster.", she told him gently.
