Shifty eyes of bright crystalline hue bounced back and forth across the static waves pulsing with tension, she could almost taste it on her tongue if she stuck it out just right. Instead, Elizabeth furrowed her brows and wrinkled her nose, clearly uncomfortable shifting her weight between each shoe and only wishing she had her sunglasses—she never went anywhere without a pair—but it was school, her mother said, and it would be inappropriate, her mother sighed.

”Y’know-!” She burst suddenly, and hopefully, cutting everyone off, her shifty gaze fell upon Tobyn and Damien with apprehensive surprise, and bloody hells, she didn’t know what she was doing.

But then suddenly, it all hit her at once as her throat constricted and her heart swelled, was that guilt riddling her lungs with water, drowning her? Oh, she mused, I wish.

”I really am sorry,” her low voice rolled with an alto growl, facing both boys direct and sincere. ”I really didn’t mean to seem to leave you lot out… I’m not so used to being around mates my age, mum moves around a lot.”

And thus, quite oblivious to the games they play—and oh— the webs they weave.

Damien nodded. Prejudice. He wasn't prejudiced; many would use that word against, him, he knew. But he felt no such thing. He didn't look down on them for their blood; he looked down on them for never attempting to rise above their shortcomings. Mudbloods and the like never bothered to even attempt to learn to behave as though they were better. Blood and class went hand in hand; and yet, manners could be learned. If anyone here was at fault, it was those of bad breeding who didn't bother to even attempt to hide their shame. This girl was clearly low class, and yet she was managing their verbal sparring match quite well. If only others could be so inclined. "People should learn to keep their feelings on such matters to themselves, don't you think?" he asked her. She was right; it did no good to let others know what you thought of them. He'd been taught to always keep such feelings to himself. And while he may not have mastered it just yet, he wouldn't ever come out and tell someone why he refused to associate with them. He never had to; their bad blood showed in their attitude. If the occasion ever came, he's simply blame that, never acknowledging that their attitude is because of that bad blood. At Elizabeth's apology, he bowed slightly, as he had before. "It's quite alright. If I've reacted badly to anything anyone has said, I suppose it would be for the same reason. I've never been around anyone but my parents, really. I suppose I'm not used to manners that are less than their own. But, I'm sure you can't expect children to be on their level. The difference just caught me off guard."

The impulse? It came sudden, like a flash of lightning striking cinders to flame until it burst, pure and free. She tilted her head to her left and pursed her lips tight, but still, all it once, the impulse came. ”You remind me of my father.” Fast as lightning, with a low rumbling tone. Igniting hell upon the earth, all sanity strewn aside, after all- how do you come to respond to that? Sparkling fire glittered in her blue veela eyes.

And then all at once, she blinked, quite as surely as they all must have, or she assumed. The surprise lingered on her features as she blinked, and blinked, and blinked… Ran her fingers through her hair, and blinked.

”……” Silence, it swirled in the storm as she glanced at Marina, and then Tobyn, and then finally Damien.

”…….ermm.”

Adalaide shrugged. That made sense... "Well... he might buy that. I mean, his dad didn't outright insult mine until he figured out that my dad had no power in the Ministry or anything that would be helpful to him. He invited him over for tea and they talked for hours. Then, after that, he said that he didn't see any way that associating with me would benefit his son in the future, and that as I was the product of poor breeding, I was an unsuitable playmate for him." The only thing that superseded the Edgeworth's prejudice towards muggles was the need for connections. If her father had been important, had held any sway in any groups that mattered, she had no doubt that she and Damien would still be friends, at least superficially. But, she still didn't want Michelle to be friends with Damien, even for pretend. She wanted her to be friends with her. And if Michelle went through with this, they could only talk in passing. Maybe if they were in the same house, they could talk in the Common Room, but other than that, they'd hardly get to see each other. And, if they were in different houses, they'd get to see each other even less.

Nell smiled and chuckled as some girls engaged in a game of muggle football and happily watched from the sidelines. In all honesty she'd watch anything to keep her aggravation at bay from waiting for a professor and keeping her mind off her hunger. Although she didn't want to interrupt their game, whenever the ball rolled her way she would gently kick it back in play. Afterwards she began to roam around from group to group waving at some she had already met and smiling at those she hadn't yet. Her hamster Henry had been traveling in her pocket quite comfortably until he began to squirm and suddenly jumped out and ran towards a girl with light blonde hair and bright blue eyes. "I'm so sorry! I don't know what got into him!." Nell apologized as she ran towards them.

Tobyn had been standing idly by during the whole thing, ready to jump in if anyone needed defended but both sides seemed to be doing well on their own and he didn't want to interfere. It seemed best just to let them sort it out now. He had a habit of jumping in where he shouldn't. Mostly he found the whole situation amusing. Damien seemed to be a rather touchy fellow. Tobyn would keep that in mind. He turned to Elizabeth as she began to apologize and smiled at the girl. "Don't worry about it. I don't need an apology." He said. And it was true. He didn't really care too much. "You remind me of my father" The silence following that sentence was a bit too awkward for Toby's liking so he chose to fill it. "So yeah. Hope the teacher gets here soon. I don't know about you guys but I could eat a whole hippogriff. My parents said the food was really good when they were there. I hope they have potatoes." he said before trailing of. The thought of food was making him even more hungry. "So you guys excited for any classes?"

Kayleigh's smile grew when approched the train. Students were leaving in all dirctions trying to meet up and get in to the carriges. She was sad her daughter would no longer be in the group but happy her baby graduated. Moving closer to the train she yelled out to get the attention of the new students. "First years will come with me!!" She called over the crowed. Once the group arrived to her location she instructed them. "Welcome to Hogwarts! I'm Professor McKenny. If you all will kindly follow me we will make our way to the lake." She explained.

Finally to get to the school and hopefully eat cause he was very hunger and wanted to get sorted so he can know his house. Damien wasn't really sure what to say about Elizabeth's comment. Thankfully, he didn't have to respond. Just as Tobyn remarked about being hungry, the teacher arrived to escort them to the sorting. He smiled. "It seems you'll get to eat soon, after all, Tobyn, Shall we go?" He followed after the teacher, ready to be sorted and, yes, to eat.

A thought found it's way into Caitlin's mind. "Raiden, How about the people with experience be the captain of each team. That way they have a chance." She said, thinking more about it. She smiled when more people said they'd join in. It was up to 3v3. She tugged at a curl and looked around. Gracie's excitement reminded her of Darren, the pale boy's crudeness reminded her of her father and Savannah, in fact, if Savannah wasn't a muggleborn, she'd probably be in Slytherin. And Raiden's kindness reminded her of her mother. Caitlin began to get a little home sick. When the professor came, she smiled and grabbed her cloak. She put it on and ran her fingers along her wand one last time. Following her to the lake!

Adalaide smiled when the professor arrived. Finally! They could get this sorting nonsense out of the way and eat! She had to be honest, she wasn't quite as worried about the sorting now, because she was too hungry to think about it. She was so happy this would be over soon. She just hoped that Michelle would be in the same house as her. She took Michelle's hand. "We should go! That way we can ride together." She took off towards the boats, ready to get sorted and be seated. She was so hungry!

The flush of warmth burnt her cheeks and her stomach churned with a bubbling explosion, waiting, just waiting. The expression on Damien's face was riddled, a sphynx she would never decipher. Blinking rapidly, her oceanic blue eyes diverted to the ground until she heard the warm voice of Tobyn fill her ears.

He saved her, and her brilliant smile expressed this with every pull of her pouted flesh. Breathing suddenly felt easy as she mustered a smirk and nodded easily. "Really? Sounds brilliant, I'm starving, oh look, it's the professor-!" Elizabeth gestured with a manicured nail thrust in the direction of the radiant Professor McKenney.
