The Machine [Open/Accepting]

"Well, you're quite the gentleman." She replied, setting her hand back down where it was. "So out of curiosity, what does your family do for the military?"

"Well, as I have mentioned, I only have a couple family members in the military, but they are high officials" 'David' said. He then went on to say he was related to one of the Absolute Leader's top generals who's in charge of many of the war plans and strategies and who also visits the regiments to make sure everything is in tip top shape. "He's definitely one of the top ten most powerful figures in this country. Possibly even in the top five" 'David' explained. He then went on to talk about an uncle on his mother's side who's a major in the Diethelmian Imperial Army.

"Really? I know the general who you're taking about." Shadow replied. "But uh... I find it very difficult to believe your story."  

[Eternal_PrinceOfFire]

"Oh, really? Why is that?" 'David' asked. Surely Shadow had not run a scan on every single person in Diethelm, and if she did, Damien had the false information of his character 'David' inserted in the files to make it look like he was an actual person.

"For reasons I can't say in current company." She replied, giving him a confident smirk and narrowing her eyes again as if she had just won. Still, she was only bluffing, and she waited for his reaction.

Damien was getting slightly worried, though he dared not show it. He could handle pressure. Hell, he was handling a war right now. "Why not? Are you afraid of getting arrested? You're way past that already. Or are you worried about revealing something that would shock the entire nation?" he asked.

"I know you're going to do that. I just don't want to ruin what little time I have before then. Then again, if I did say it out loud... it might just make a big enough distraction for a clean get away." She giggled. "Don't you think so?"

"Well, why don't you whisper in my ear what you want to say first, then decide" 'David' said with a little smirk. Did Shadow know who he really was. Was that what she wanted to reveal?


Suddenly an announcement came on informing everyone that another Patriotic Moment was about to start.

"Alright then." She replied, trying to think fast. She began to lean over when suddenly the announcement came on and she jumped. "The heck?" She muttered, waiting for the announcement to be over. "Wow. It's later then I thought it was."

"Well you can whisper it to me during the first song" 'David' said.


As always, the first song was the national anthem of Diethelm. That never changed.

"Really? I never expected you to say that." She replied. "But that would be unpatriotic of me, and I would rather not be arrested before the night is over." She replied when the music began to play. Damien would have to wait until the entire thing was over.

'David' shrugged. He knew that not standing at attention to the songs was considered unpatriotic by law. He would just have to wait until it was all over. He waited until the national anthem was over, then the second song came on, which was Diethelm Shall Rise, which was about Diethelm smashing its enemies into dust and establishing correct order.

For once in her life, Shadow was thankful for the patriotic moment. It gave her time to think of something quick. As she began to think, she heard a series of gunfire behind her. She quickly turned around with alarm to see that a civilian as well as several undercover officers had been shot. They shot the TVs and the very few in the club who were normal civilians, were thrown into a panic and rushed out the door, when the gang members began to block the exits. 's**t... I called for a red alert, but I never expected this...' She thought, turning to Damien. "Get behind the bar." She told him.

"What the?" Damien demanded when the shots went off. He grabbed the gun he had packed and was allowed to carry in because his persona was in the military. He hopped behind the desk and noticed the bartender who was a secret police member in disguise had a shotgun that was kept by the club bartender for self defense.

Shadow blocked Damien's escape from a potential shooter and pulled out a hidden gun and grenade. She shot him in the arm before jumping over the bar, behind the counter with Damien for cover.
