The answer is this - you don't have a reason for caring that is logical you just do. So it doesn't matter what that individual does, is, becomes or changes into because there was never any logic to your feelings to begin with. If you feelings are based in logical notions, then if that person becomes something that opposes your perception, well then you grow to hate that part of them that defies your logic.
*sips her drink and smiles craftily while snickering*
