Amaya put her book down when she saw Kaimei stir. She waited for him to wake up so they could talk.

Layla nudged at her master but Akemi didn't budge, she only spoke to her beautiful wolf pup, "Oh my sweet girl. I am sorry, that man has taken my will to play away. He's forcing me to marriage... I'll never see you or any of our little friends again," but her mind wasn't completely on her animal friends. They were on also on Flint. They were on the attention she loved from the many suitors that came for her. Only, this man was able to buy his way into Akemi's father's heart and she cared too much for her lonely father to run from the engagement. "Layla, tell me, my friend, what should I do now?"

Victoria tried keeping up. Being a writer meant having an open mind. She would believe this paper was only leading her to a sanctuary, that this was not some trick. She could only feel like this was more of a dream. She frowned at the idea. She's been dreaming far too often, now has she? She stopped, staring at where the paper landed. A magic shop. Her brows furrowed in thought. Victoria hesitated. What was this anyways? What could she expect? Victoria didn't know since whatever 'magic' was behind this door was on the other side. She tottered up the steps and set her bags down beside her. She reached out for the knob, frightened but all the more curious, and turned it to an open...

Amaya put her hand on Kaimei's head then whispered a few words. She let her healing magic flow into Kaimei and make his head stop hurting him. "A guest," Amaya asked, surprised. She was so shy that she didn't talk to strangers or almost anyone except for her family and the demons in the house.
Kara saw the front door crack open, so she quickly put on her black beret to hide her bunny ears.

Flint couldn't take the sad look in Akemi's eyes, for whatever reason he couldn't derive. The Falcon rose into the air, passing by Akemi and Layla, and took to the forest path. It landed on a branch not too far from the duo and screeched, loud and full. Flint hardly knew what he was doing, he just knew he wanted the girl farther into the forest, before he did what he was planning. What AM I planning?

Akemi jumped, startled but for whatever reason, Layla yapped happily and ran towards the falcon. "Layla, wait! That bird doesn't seem friendly!" Akemi ran after her pup, not liking the way the falcon had screeched and worried for her reckless pet's behavior, "Layla! Please don't run away this time!"

That's right wolfy, you know who I am... Flint gave much less of a screech this time, perhaps in an attempt to make his bird persona a bit more friendly, and then flew off once the wolf was in sight. He knew the pup would follow, as he knew animals knew much more about the world than they let on to knowing. As he reached a second clearing, one much less available to people who were merely walking the path, he landed on a stone rather than a branch. The bird ruffled its feathers as the wolf came into sight, and waited for Akemi.

Running through the woods, the female was able to gracefully maneuver into the less trespassed area of the woods. As soon as Akemi reached Layla, she threw her arms around the wolf's neck and tried to pull her away from the bird, "Layla, girl, leave the birdie alone, let's go." Her eyes then looked toward the falcon. It was a beautiful falcon but she knew they could be dangerous birds if provoked to attack. But her wolf just kept barking happily.

I hope I know what I'm doing... The bird that was Flint centered its gaze on Akemi, spread its wings, and then began to change. It was a gracefull, fluid movement. Flint's face was the first thing to appear, in the birds persona with the beak as his nose, and then his arms with his flowwing sleeves fit into the birds wings. As he grew, feathers formed into his boots and his crossed legs, the colors matched his shirt, and with a final straightening arch to his back the magician sat in front of Akemi and the wolf, rather than a falcon. He uncrossed his legs and lowered his arms, tired suddenly by his time in his cursed form, and lowered his gaze to the wolf in a thankfull gesture, as the pup had brought her master to him. He smiled for a moment, but then his eyes found the girl, and he froze, skittish as a bird.
Was she suprised? Frightened? How was he to know how she would take him being magical? Most people didn't like magicians, afterall. He hoped she was as different as she'd proven to be earlier.
"Akemi..."

Akemi found her eyes widening as she saw the bird transform into the one she found that made her heart beat wildly, unlike any other man she had met before. She was frozen but the grip she had on the wolf's fur tightened. "You... You're a wizard, aren't you?" her voice shook a bit. Akemi had always tried to keep an open mind, different from most people in the village, but she still knows the stories that are said of magical people, horrible stories. She couldn't quell her fear or the wild beating of her heart that was caused just of his presence.

Flint dropped his gaze, afraid of the question, and took a moment to answer. It almost felt as though he were confessing a sin as he answered the girl in front of him. He was concerned, for a moment, for his family; but Akemi didn't know them anyway, right?
"Yes. I am a Magician."
The man didn't move from his rock, afraid of frightening Akemi by moving toward her. He had heard the stories that people told about magicians. None of them were pretty. Heart Stealers, heart eaters, it didn't paint a pretty picture. Not that anyone ever cared to ask if he would eat a heart, as the answer was no. Maybe they could figure him out more easily if they knew the truth.
"But I mean no harm."

As her hands dropped from Layla's neck, the young wolf ran towards flint and jumped onto him, licking his face. "An animal's instincts of survival are better than a human's and Layla has always been a good protector for me. I trust her," Akemi took a few hesitant steps toward Flint and then, more confidently, walked the rest of the gap between them. Her independence shone in her eyes as she glared at the magician, "You do realize that you could have given me a heart attack by that sudden change!" but her tone didn't match the scolding she gave him. She was smiling faintly, remembering that this was the man that had helped her and the man she thought about before going to sleep. And if Layla could trust him, so could she.

Flint scratched the wolf behind the ears, knowing his brother favored the action in his cursed form, as a thank you. As the animal settled a bit, the man looked once again toward Akemi. "Forgive me. I've never revealed myself before, and it seems rather less frightening to me than it must be to you." He felt elated, though, as she smiled, and then he remembered why he'd revealed himself in the first place.
"You were upset earlier." It wasn't a question. "Please, tell me why. Perhaps I can help..." The magician let the wolf down from his lap, and cleared space on the flat stone, as if to give the girl a place to sit.

Instead of sitting, Akemi twirled around, something she did often in the woods. There would be a moment of silence before she spoke and stopped twirling, "I'm being forced to marry a disgusting pervert," she said, looking Flint in the eye, showing him the pain in her own. "I do not wish to get married! I am a free spirit, one who loves the attention given to me by my odd ways and beauty. If I am forced to marry Damien, he will certainly make me stay in the house, sewing and cooking and cleaning and giving him children."
