This was the monster that Cactus Bast had in store for her? Bast had to laugh at the prospect of sending the desert after someone who once ruled it! She planted a hand on the headband she wore at her waist to absorb the properties of steel, then let out a long high note as the sand crashed toward her. Her weight vanished and she rocketed out of the path of the sand, free from the burden of gravity. The flying metal woman set her sights on the mummified menace and formed a hand seal, unleashing a wave of cutting wind normally reserved for summons.

The mummy's bandages flew off of his body. They whirled together in the air and sliced through the blades of wind which were aimed to dismantle him. It was just as he thought. This was the perfect sacrifice. Still though, she was acting too wise. She needed to be broken in a way to allow him to destroy him. Maybe it was genjutsu time. There was a pause of nothingness before Bastet heard the mew of a tiny kitten. If she turned to look in the direction of the sound, then she would see her beloved cat becoming consumed by the sands around her. The sand would peel away the flesh of the sphinx in order to evoke the most emotional reaction possible from Bastet. All the same, the sand moved. It coiled around the woman as the genjutsu gathered form and strength. Then, if Bastet even lowered her guard once, she would find herself impaled by a hundred spikes of sand.

Bast saw red. Her hands locked together in a very strange hand seal. The sand in the area would fall in on a point just behind her and assume the shape of a giant cat. The mummy would find that sand lie beyond its domain, locked behind a very peculiar seal. After releasing the seal, she formed another that would cause the earth on either side of the malefic mummified menace to rise up and swing inward with great crushing force. The woman then retrieved a spool of steel wire from her waist and wove it through her fingers.
"Golem: crush." Her order was simple, and at the same time she released Chakra into the wire. A thick lattice of cutting Chakra would bear down on the Mummy and its surroundings, along with two sandy golem fists that were big enough to blot out the sky.

The mummy had her just where he wanted. She was emotionally vulnerable. Bandages flew off of him as they spiraled around to stop the closing rocks from crushing him. The bandages then wrapped into giant hands which easily matched the golem. Everything was going good, until the blades came down. The bandages were shredded like ribbons. In seconds the mummy’s decomposed, rotten body was shown. The mummy covered himself, however, as though he were some shota anime boy who was just violently stripped by his large handed yaoi boyfriend. As he did, however, the golem’s fist, which were previously blocked by the bandages, finished their collision path and clobbered the mummy. Sand shot up as the fist slammed into the dune, seeming long signaling the end of the match. That was when the ground started to rumble.
Sand parted from the ground, and then ground parted in half. A pyramid rose as the ground separated, the size towering over the golem. Gigantic retilian limbs crawled out of both sides, and a tail fell out of the back end. Out of the front end a colossal turtle head emerged. It looked down at the small girl as it vomitted a massive amount of sand. The sand soon became thirty minor mummy soldiers, who quickly surrounded Bastet. “Desemund, Setna!” The turtle shouted. The mummies each pulled out weapons. Sickles, swords, and piles were the typical weapons. Five jumped at the girl while the others waited. All the same, the turtle spun as he went to slam the golem away with his massive tail. It wasn’t sure how sturdy the golem was, but was fairly sure that the force could break it.

It seemed Bast was at least getting through the enemies at a decent clip. Shota anime boy or no, the mummy's demise was immensely satisfying. Then there were more enemies to deal with, including some bizarre pyramid-shaped turtle monster, so she loosened the wires around her fingers and go to work setting up a new attack. She wasn't particularly concerned about the small-fry swarming her, but she'd mount a token defense all the same. First came a cluster of tornadoes that revolved around her in an ever-widening orbit, the intent being to suck up any attackers who got too close; second came the dropping of a senbon bearing a bell at her feet, the tinkling of which would make her figure multiply seemingly infinitely in the eyes of any others in the area; and lastly she planted her hands on the ground, causing a fissure to split the earth and expand toward the pyramid turtle.

Ergo War
Fight of the petty fools got swept up into the tornado. Three more were tossed around before four of them came together to swing their strikes. This dispelled the tornado, but then hundreds of Bastet’s awaited them. Instinctively they swung at the clones, their blades going through and then they tried another Bastet. One of the mummy goons did throw their pike, however, with enough force and accidental precision that it would impale the woman in the leg. All the same, the turtle dug his legs into the ground as the chasm split the earth. It seemed as though the golem took the hit and was now out of commission for a bit. He forced the ground to postpone parting as he then vomited sand into the mildly formed chasm. He then raised his head as the sandstorm went to consume Bastet and the minor guys.
(My dudes are using C-ranked formless swings aside from the pike thrower, which was B-rank Going Stephen King on this fight: A-rank for the Superman feat. Massive sandstream annhilation: S-ranked)
The pike pierced Bast's leg, something which received minimal response. As the sand that had been in her golem crashed down on the battlefield, she kept her eyes fixed on the turtle. It had planted its feet in the ground, which had more or less accomplished what she'd been going for in the first place. She popped her leg off and let it fall so that the pike was oriented vertically, then flipped her wire back so it wrapped around the weapon, creating a V-shape with her hands at either end and the pike serving as the corner. She fired off another wave of cutting Chakra from the wire, simultaneously attacking everything behind her at about waist height. That accomplished, she flipped the wire back around in front of her and fired another attack toward the turtle with significantly more power.
((Forgot to say the golem was taken out in the last post. Woops!))

The blades created effortlessly went through the goons, cut through the sandstorm, balanced the turtle's checkbooks, and most importantly, delivered a critical blow to the monster. The blades shaped off various parts of the turtle's pyramid back, and also sliced off the creature's tail. It made a gigantic, earth shaking sound before the tail dissolved into nothingness. The creature was also slowly starting to dissolve. No, not again. In a last ditched move, the creature leaped into the air. Its goal was simple, to land on the ninja and kill her once and for all. If he had to die, then so did she. It was only fair.
Well, the turtle seemed to be desperate now. Sure, it was big, but Bast could fly and she could probably knock it out of the way. She grabbed the pike and hurled it at the turtle--complete with her own leg--at an oblique angle to skew its descent, then kicked off of the ground. The combination of the two would be enough to get her out of the splash zone, she hoped.

Ergo War
As the leg infused pike hit the bottom of the giant pryamid turtle, (a sentence I never thought I would type), it began to dissolve. The fleeing Bastet would watch as dust fell harmlessly like a sandstorm upon the area. As it fell, a bronze key fell down to the ground as it then became enveloped in the dust. It’s gleam shined through the dust, like a diamond in the rough.
(Congratulations! Now that you have your key, you can either work with others to fight the skeleton king with their keys, or you can hunt more pumpkins and be greedy.)
Her foe was slain, a key was claimed, and Bast could finally relax. Sure, the area was devastated, and sure, there was no sign of her pumpkin and squash armies, but she was sure they'd turn up. She calmly pulled herself together, removed the pike, recovered her form completely, and sat down to meditate.
Deep breaths. In, out, in, out. She carefully measured each to make sure it was the optimal length. It wasn't often she gave in to rage like that, and now she was feeling rather tired.
It struck her as odd that the mummy had somehow gotten her cat. She went over a few scenarios in her mind as to how she would've transported the creature, but none of them were particularly feasible for something with little knowledge of the Village. Had it been a Genjutsu?
Bast's eyes slid open and she turned to face the site of her cat's supposed demise. She used Kai and watched it fade away like a bad dream, then breathed a sigh of relief. She drew up a map of how the area should be, restored it, and resumed her meditation. She took some time to process the fear she had of imaginary cats and came out on the other side feeling rather refreshed, if hungry. She took a swig of her tea, stood up, and strolled out of the area with a bronze key in hand.

Sonyo and Sadayo would find themselves awakening in a strange ocean. When they woke up, they wouldn't feel as though that they were drowning. Rather, it felt more like a dream, one that the two were trapped in together. If they turned they could see each other, as well as one more. Taylor, the young boy, was also trapped within them. He was still unconscious, however, as he drifted along the water. While the two would notice him as well probably, they would be focused more on a voice which entered both of their heads. "Sonyo Rue. Sadayo Soga." The voice said. Her voice was motherly, like a warm blanket. It echoed through the water. "Do you care for life? And if so, then who's life do you care for most of all?" It asked them both. All the two had to do was answer within their minds, and their thoughts would echo through the water.
Sonyo awoke groggily, like when she passed out that one time from blood loss. It was like everything was real, but not real, like she had been thrown in to a story somewhere with no bearing and no backstory. She felt strangely at ease for not knowing where she was or what was happening, and somewhere in the back of her mind that made her feel uneasy. It wasn't like her, this isn't how she'd react to a situation like this. It was like she was disconnected from what she was feeling almost, as if something else was at work. And when that "something else" spoke, a shiver ran through her that made her jaws clench together. Her hazel hues looked around for any sign of where they were, her face staying calm. She took a second to gather what she wanted to say, before she carelessly blurted out something that could damage the people around her.
"Before I answer your question, I'd like to know who you are and why you've taken us." Her thoughts echoed across the water like ripples along the surface, she adjusted slightly in the water, trying to determine if she could feel the pull of her weapons against her clothes. One look to Sadayo carried a single meaning, "be careful". She knew that the young girl was smart, but not if she would be lulled in to a false safety by the feeling surrounding them.

Light and snow were suddenly lost and as the puppeteer was ensnared into an obscure darkness. It was as if she had blinked a considerably long blink. When it seemed that her eyes had at last reopened, the girl blinked more than once as if she were just rolling out of bed. Her being swamped by a gentle sway from standing in a placid ocean.
The connection to her puppets had faded somewhere along the path of disarray. However, the status of her connection to her weapons was uncertain in the first moments of this daze. She took notice of the girl she identified as Sonyo before registering sight of the blonde child from before floating about. He didn't seem awake but in that perfect statis of floating. It was hard to tell but he appeared to be face up against the ocean's surface.
Then the voice came. Then Sonyo's voice came.
Sadayo didn't recall any mouth movement and she, at first, legitimately thought it was just the poor lighting. w-what? This wasn't right. None of this was right. The blank interval where Sadayo could not recall a thing was suddenly becoming undeniably worrisome. I don’t like this. I don’t like how she knows my naaame...! Sadayo wasn't moving her mouth. These were the first frantic thoughts before she could find the "simmer" point where she could revert to a more calm state of mind.

A gentle laughter vibrated through the water as Sonyo asked her question, and Sadayo panicked thoughts rippled through the area. It wasn't in any way a mocking tone. It was the laughter one has one a friend says something off beat. "It's funny that you don't know who I am. You've known me since your birth." The woman's voice said. Sonyo then felt a tingling in her soul, which was the same tingle as the instinctual force she uses when she utilizes the hyoton bloodline. "I have been with you since the very beginning. I am the force which allows you to fuse water and wind to make ice. I have gone through many names; too many are lost in time. For now, you may call me The Snow Queen." Her voice was sincere, and it would warm Sonyo more than Sadayo. "As for why you're here, I am afraid it is because I must burden you with a heavy choice. For now though, I will ask again. Do you care for life? And if so, then who's life do you care for most of all?" Her question was asked to both of the ladies, while Taylor still drifted along the water along them.
