xxxxx Mandarin is not what someone would classify as sweet, but she wouldn't be mean either. She very much so tows the grey in the middle of the two. When she wants something, she can be overbearing to the point where plenty of Soquili would probably do anything to get her out of their manes. Stopping at nothing and letting no obstacle get in the way, she is very determined. On the flip side of things, when she just doesn't care, she will put in no effort at all. If she can get away with it, she will do literally nothing. This includes when other Soquili want her help with things. If she doesn't want to do it, she will think up or do anything to not to have to do it. If that means faking an illness or injury, she will. If it means trying to trick someone else into helping, she will. Getting the project completely set back? Sure. There is nothing that is off limits for her in her mind.
As previously said, she isn't a mean Soquili though. Of the options she has when getting out of things she much prefers to get someone else to help the one in need instead. There are also a few times where she will even feel bad for what she has done and help out twice as hard the next time around. Though this, again, depends on her mood and if she would even feel bad in the end. More than likely that's not going to happen. No Soquili should hold their breath waiting for it either. Now, when she does want to do something, or wants something, she is quite a sight to behold. Not stopping until the work is completely done and making sure that it is done to perfection. When this happens everyone is really better off for it. Her included. She would simply never admit to such a thing. At least not out loud to anyone.
Now because she does have such an overbearing personality, she doesn't really have any friends. She probably wouldn't even know what to do if she did have one. Simply never really finding a Soquili that will stick around with her long enough to even get to know her under all of the gruff exteriors. And that is a challenge that she has just never set her mind to. If the right Soquili comes along, she just might. But that would really take a lot of time on the other Soquili's part. Or they would at least have to have the same personality type as herself. Really only time would tell what would work best with her in the ring.

xxxxx Mandarin didn't have what one would call a hard childhood. Not in any sense of the words. She had fun siblings to play with and parents who loved her and her siblings. Anyone in her family that met her didn't judge her based on her appearance, or even try to change what she liked or who she might become. Others who might be different have probably never been as luck as her and her siblings. They might have experienced hardships and ridicule that she has never known, but something like that has never been in the forefront of her mind. It has only barley even crossed her subconscious. It's simply something that she never needed to know. All of this made her childhood carefree and full of fun and love. Really no child could ask for a better upbringing.
When she decided to head off on her own, she really didn't have any kind of goal in mind. She still doesn't. For now she just does what she wants when she wants to do it. No rules and no cares. She would have to come in contact with a rather large life changer in order for her to change her ways too. But that doesn't seem to be anywhere in the near future.

xxxxx Rye is quick as a whip and twice as daring. If there is a way for her to have an adventure with someone, someplace, she will do it. There is nothing that would possibly stop her from trying to find something fun and exciting to do. Beyond being just a ball of energy looking for the next big thing, she is quite intelligent. She enjoys learning new things whenever she can and will happily ask another Soquili questions at a mile a minute if allowed to. Though tending to be a bit over bearing in her energy at times, she does understand common courtesy and will tone it down whenever she feels it's more appropriate. Along with most of the females in her family, she does have a rather flirty nature when it comes to stallions she finds to be either attractive in looks, or personality. When it comes to being aggressive, she has no shortage of it. She will happily stroll up to any aggressor and put them in their place.
As far as adventuring goes, there is nothing she won't try at least once. Jumping off a high waterfall into a lake below, no problem. Diving in and out of storm clouds trying to avoid rain, why not? Heading right into a Skinwalker's cave and teasing them... Okay, she's not that crazy. But this mare is prepared to do just about anything if it sounds cool enough. Even more so if she has the potential to either get the attention of a crowd, or she is doing it with other Soquili. With other Soquili, she will more than happily take challenges to simply see who is the best at anything they can think up. Though this behavior seems like a simple foal game to most, there are plenty of others who have challenged her to many a game. Some she has won, and some she has lost, but always does she accept her fate with grace and dignity. She isn't really the type to be a braggart. At least not on purpose.
If anyone were to ask Rye where she got her intelligence, she would probably credit her Great Grandmother, Aranyszívű. Her Great Grandmother has instilled a fire for learning everything she can about everyone she can. No lady should be a slouch when it comes to knowledge after all. A proper lady will always know what she is talking about before she bothers to pipe up. Or at least that's what Rye always got out of it. And she certainly agrees with the notion that one should know what they are talking about before they speak.
Courtesy is very important to her and her family. She was always taught by her Grandmother that she should respect other Soquili and what their personal space is. Or what their beliefs are as well. You should never go and tell a Soquili that what they believe in is wrong after all. That's just down right rude. Though sometimes Rye does stray from this path of choice. There are times where she simply knows that the other Soquili is so wrong it's laughable. When those come along she simply can't help but to correct them no matter how rude she may appear. As one would expect this has backfired for her more than once... Causing plenty of fights all over the place.
Though Rye tends to try to keep everything on the more friend spectrum, or as professional as possible, there are times where she simply can't help but to flirt with a handsome stallion or two. It's something that she explains by being in her blood. There is just no getting around it. If an attractive stallion glances her way, she is right next to him with a sweet word or two trying to feel him out for potential down the line. And naturally the mare means this as no disrespect for the stallions themselves. She just likes to go headlong for the things she wants.
As far as her aggression goes, she can get pretty bad. This isn't limited to getting angry and taking it out on others. This can simply be her going after something she wants. Or even when she tends to get more competitive. Rye would do almost anything to win short of actually hurting someone who didn't deserve it. She doesn't really get angry either. It just doesn't run in her system and she would much rather not waste her time on such silly things as anger. This means that it would take a lot to get her going...

xxxxx Rye has had a very good life so far. Raised with her father, Inai, along with her Grandmother and Great Grandmother, she never went without someone around to be there to help her grow. She even had more extended family on her other fathers side, Reefer, that her and her sisters were often with as well. She adores being around all of her extended family and has certainly had her share of small foal sized adventures with lots of her family members. She was even around her adopted uncle, Remény, for a long while before he left for the Flock. Though she was never really comfortable being completely alone with him. He always gave her a rather uneasy feeling. When she got older she understood a bit more that it was simply his personality to be rather oppressive. Though she will never really go and seek him out to try and get over such a thing.

As she got older, she decided to go and try to strike out on her own! As most foals do. Right now she is simply exploring the Soquili lands and simply trying to find her place in the world.
