Mr. Adorable didn't have a scratch on him. If anything, he seemed to get angrier and less adorable with every passing second. Normally West would have appreciated such a transformation, but he was a little too preoccupied with remaining alive to be entertained by the situation.

The molerat huddled into a compact little bundle, clearly preparing to pounce. West raised his Taming Stick in front of him, pointing it at the creature in what he hoped was a threatening manner.

"C'mon an'fight me like a..."

His taunt was cut off as Mr. Adorable barreled into him claws-first and the boil dissipated.

At the same moment, the molerat's face smooshed into the Taming Stick and he exploded in a shower of enraged goo.

Alex winced as Yin was bitten again, and was about to throw Yin's former magically cursed stick at the creature when Moira approached and took it out of his hand, then broke it over her knee while handing him a new one.

He just stared at her, a little dumbfounded. Oh, he should try out the new stick? He glanced at his two devoted follower moles and sighed, not really wanting to get back into the fray if he could help it. So instead he turned towards Yin, glancing at the boils arm that was dripping in blood. He could barely tell what was Yin's own blood and what was exploded molerat, so he really couldn't tell how badly the other boil had been injured. Maybe once this class was over they could go and have a shower, and Alex could inspect Yin a little more closely after he'd been cleaned off. "I dunno, but ya, they do look rather delicious." Alex grinned, his mood climbing once again. That was, until another molerat came after him. He quickly (quick for Alex) turned and gave it a rap on the nose.

And it didn't explode!

But it did dart in and bite him on the arm. Alex snarled again, his good mood deteriorating.

Jove was among the last to take a taming stick and a towel, and then reluctantly followed the other students into the cave. It gave him the creeps. Plus being at the back of the line meant he was always glancing behind him at the retreating light from outside, and was unable to see past the other students until...

Something with giant teeth lumbered towards him!

With a surprised yelp he flailed with the taming stick. And then suddenly there was a disgusting goop on his outstretched arms. Ew.

The pup froze for a couple seconds, and then wiped off the goo.

Looking around, Jove noticed many of the other students were having similar effects on their molerats. Good, so it wasn't just that his was defective... He proceeded onto another one, and gave it a tap. Unfortunately that little tap ended up being a sharp jab in the neck as the thing turned around to face him, and the distressed creature lunged past the stick and gave his arm a good chomping!

The little ghost pup stifled a yelp and gave the thing a good smack. So what if it was almost as tall as he was, or that it could have swallowed him in one good mouthful had he been in his natural form, he wasn't going to let anyone see he was scared!

With his tail bristled out like a bottle brush, he swung at the giant mole rat again. And this time his aim was spot on. However, instead of it's head exploding, the thing just got all doe-eyed and stared. And stared, and stared.

Jove brandished the stick, but the creature seemed to have no more desire to attack him in the slightest.

And then there were mole rats.

Ren sighed. And then heard a familiar squawk coming from a short distance away.

"Jove?"

One of the molerats was coming up behind him and Ren spun around, smacking it with his stick in annoyance...

...and suddenly found himself with a new admirer.

"Er. Well. All right then."

Jove's ears perked as he heard his brother through the crowd, and tried to push through. He wasn't going to admit it, but having the taller gryphon nearby would be quite the reassurance. Maybe Ren would even let him ride on his shoulders, where he could see things properly...

He had just caught sight of his brother when another mole rat scurried at him! He whacked it with the stick, getting another unpleasant bite in the process.

It might have sounded a bit garbled, since Ren was busy fighting off a molerat.

It wasn't long before West was back in the cave, trailing after one of Moira's gnomes. His molerats were waiting, and as soon as they laid eyes on him they began chittering excitedly and crowding against him until all he could do was take a seat in place.

Things had been going so well. And now? Now, they sucked.

Willow held in her hands a taming stick and a towel.... there was a small frown as she followed the group after having at least thought about backing out. The class was HUGE, of course with Demi being somewhere around and a few others she knew it wasn't that horrible, still a little nerve rattling.

However, the byakko followed the rest of the class into the cave and watched as they came across naked molerats. Totally not a favorite minipet. Willow took her stick and waved it at the nearest one hoping to actually hit it...

"Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee-" Lizzy waved her taming stick around when the mole rats started to appear; she wasn't expecting this! Actually, she wasn't sure what she expected when she followed this staff member into a cave for 'adventure', but it was definitely not this!

When her taming stick managed to hit one of the attacking mole rats on the head, however, it suddenly looked... Dazed. And then it started rubbing up against her leg like some overgrown, affectionate minipet.

"... ... Who's the cutest mole rat?" She giggled, petting it on the head before squishing its cheeks in her hands, tucking the taming stick under her arm, "Yes you is!"

Jove swung the stick once more, hearing Ren utter something that was... mostly a bit of a shouting grunt. Why did his brother always have to be weird when they were supposed to be serious?

He winced as more of the disgusting goo splattered out, this time he even got some on his cheek. Looking down he realized there was goo all over his coat, and he had a sudden urge to run up to his brother and give him a big hug.

Okay this wasn't soo bad. Willow winced as she was bit back. Well it wasn't pleasant either. However her tail flickered as she swung at the beastie again. She watched to see what would happen, no sooner than she stopped to watch it the mole rat pulled back and watched Willow.

Suddenly there was a frown across her face as she took a step to the left and the mole rat followed her looking at her lovingly. "Oh bandersnatch." The tiger sighed.

Jove shook his head, as though saying "No, nevermind..." and quickly turned his attention back to the giant mole rats. His own was still staring. He could feel those giant adoring eyes boring holes through his back. It was downright unsettling.

He swung the taming stick once more, thwacking against the side of a nearby mole rat. And it swung around, using those nasty long claws to rake his unbitten arm. This time it looked like the skin under his torn sleeve was bruising up.
