An exhausted Gabriele took the final blow, wind tearing both cloth and skin. She slumped over, her spiritual pressure spent. She managed a swipe in her opponents general direction with one bleeding hand.

Haruka easily dodged the final swat. She could tell her opponent was finished. With a flap of her hand, she sent a short, but powerful breeze at her opponent, knocking her over for good.

A few moments more passed by for the impatient spectators. The final match of the secondary round would be beginning soon. Ichiro was beside himself with a combination of pride and unbridled glee. He summoned his Fullbring's kanabo in waiting for his opponent.

Mariko sauntered into the arena, throwing axe already in hand. She studied her opponent disdainfully. 朝飯前なんだ。 she thought, smiling fiercely.
She tossed her axe up in the air and caught it by the edge.

Ichiro smiled again, and held out his hand.
"Hello, Youkai-sama! I am honored to have you for my next opponent! I will give you my best." He lowered the weapon and bowed respectfully, the grin never fading from his face.

Mariko glanced at Ichiro's outstretched hand suspiciously. She never liked humans, and felt that she couldn't trust them even half as far as she could throw them. With an upturned nose, she turned and walked into the arena, taking position without even a comment.  

[Silas Parrish]

Ichiro balked a little.
"How rude!" He lifted the kanabo, and waited to hear the referee give the call.
"Contestants ready? Fight!"

A mere half a second after the referee finished giving the signal, Mariko already had her axe out and threw it full force at Ichiro, her eyes flashing angrily.
Damn these humans! I'll take care of them all!  

[Silas Parrish]

Ichiro stopped the Youkai's attack with his weapon, feeling the strain. He grunted and strained, and broke away from her.
"You're strong. Looks like I'll need to pull out all the stops, Youkai-sama." He swung the kanabo once, and allowed his Red Oni to emerge alongside the Blue Oni. He cracked another smile. This one was knowing, rather than friendly.
"Now you'll get to see me at full power. Give me but a moment."

Mariko side stepped to avoid the attack. What was he talking about? "Give me a moment"? Did he think she would just stand there and politely wait for him? No way! She was taking him down as soon as she could!
She took off at a run and aimed a high kick at Ichiro's chest area.

Ichiro's Bringer Light carried him safely away.
"So impatient! Don't you want a good fight? Now, then...with both of my demons unleashed--I release you, Black Oni." A massive influx of spiritual pressure emanated from the Fullbringer's body.
"My Blue Oni gives me the power to fight with the strength of my entire body. My Red Oni creates illusions that draw upon the fear of my enemies. My Black Oni, however... It makes the illusions real."
A white aura began to emanate, and Ichiro's voice changed.
"Tell me, Youkai-sama... what are you afraid of?"

Mariko simply shrugged off the waves of spiritual energy radiating from her enemy. She grew even more angry as he spoke. "Stay out of my head!" she yelled, charging at Ichiro once again. This time, she attacked with her axe directly.

The attack passed directly through Ichiro's body as his Black Oni began to reshape it. Only liquid shadow clung the the Youkai girl's weapon; it dissipated quickly after that. A long, hairy claw sheathed in black, shiny armor lashed out from within the black mass created by the Black Oni. The silhouette of a gigantic demonic centipede could be seen as the dust cleared.
