Shuddering, Shun dropped down lightly to the snowy ground so that he could try snatching candy off of a different tree. Perhaps it would turn out to be more fruitful for him. Glancing about briefly, he quietly made his way to another, then climbed on up.
Spying a large candycane, he reached out for it. He missed on his first attempt to snatch it, but managed to grab a hold of it soon enough. There as also a hershey kiss wrapped in green foil that he plucked to toss into the bin as well.
Once Riley had arrived, she separated herself rather quickly. She was looking for a tree all her very own, and she planned to do terrible things to it.
A fine, tall tree presented itself, and she looked around, to make sure no one else was in the vicinity. There was so much candy up there. It was tempting.. she knew Red said not to eat it, and it would probably make her very sick, but she was very seriously considering just a lick or two.
Meanwhile, every single one of her tentacles, except for the two directly at the sides of her face, rose up into the trees, sliding their way around the branches and gathering candy with each grope. If the tree had been one of those horrid tentient ones, this entire process would have been impressively terrifying. As it was, however, the tree remained still and quiet as Riley slid her tentacles all up in its business.
At first, she found nothing. Every time her tentacle slid across a branch, it managed to crush the candy instead of collecting it, until she was left with a tentacle covered in peppermint bark splinters and nothing to show for it. This happened five times, before Riley began to move at an achingly slow pace, hoping for a more careful haul.
It was with these careful strokes that Riley's tentacles finally began to retrieve and deliver whole candy. She plucked them out of her tentacles one by one, placing them in her basket, and then focused on another branch, slowly plucking little candy canes and peppermint circles down to drop into her hands. It was going well, in fact, as she harvested the tree, slowly but thoroughly, until it was all but devoid of candy completely.
When she was done, she shook her tentacles out, but many of them were still covered in sticky, gooey splinters of candy pieces. There wasn't much she could do about that - and she didn't mind terribly. She'd done her job, and completed the mission. How this was going to help Jericho, however.. that still remained a mystery to her.
1 basket full + 5 left over!

Busy with seeking out what else was within his reach, Shun paused as he saw a sort of flash of purple out of the corner of his good eye. Turning, he just stared as he saw Riley practically stripping a tree clean with her tentacles.

Shaking his head, he grabbed two more small chocolates and toss them into his basket. It was almost full now.
So here they were, back in Christmas...but this time at least, they weren't here because they were being pawned off to do some job (granted that making toys had been pretty fun). This time, they were actually here to do something that would benefit one of them, to save a student who had been missing for a long time.
And so, as she stared up at the tree, the baku began to try coming up with ways to gather as many candies as she could. She could climb up...but climbing really wasn't a forte of hers, and to be frank, that seemed like it would take a lot longer than other methods. What if she...struck the tree then? Surely some candy would come loose then. Stretching, she bounced a little on the spot to get herself warmed up before twisting and landing a hard kick on the tree.
Why stop there? As a shower of candy came down, the baku went through her usual repetoire of attacks, swinging her fists and her legs at the tree trunk in a flurry of attacks. It was good practice, and when she finally paused to catch her breath, she realized that a ton of candy had fallen from the tree. Moving around to gather them, she was satisfied to find that she had a full basket, and moved to get a new basket for the excess.
Shun cursed under his breath as he slipped, nearly falling out of the tree. As a result, he ended up losing some candy. It could have been worse though. Shifting his weight to fix his positioning, he managed to replace what he had ended up dropping from the near-fall.
He was at least almost done with this.
Pausing, as he heard some thuds, he glanced over to see that Xiu had... knocked a bunch of candy down. Well then.
Sitting at a higher branch, Shun stared downwards, spying two large chunks of candy below him. He thought about it for a moment or so, then decided to jump down, hoping to swipe the candy along the way.
Thankfully, it worked. And he somehow didn't manage to lose anything in the process.
Making sure they were secure in the basket, he just held onto the container for now. He was done with this task.
Climbing trees was no problem; the problem for Lizzy was the cold. Since she didn't know that there would be a trip to Christmas before attending the class, she did not bring along any clothing - or things like hot chocolate and hot water bottles - that might help with keeping the warmth from escaping her body.
Sleepy, she walked over to a tree, set the basket down on the ground, and started to climb, using her spider legs to help her get up the trunk. Once she was up in the tree, she started to shake the branches, causing several candy - peppermints, candy canes, gumdrops - to fall to the ground. Some landed in her basket and some around it, but a couple of smaller candy were lost in the snow.
As she was climbing down from the tree, she spotted a huge piece of peppermint, and decided to grab it; it would surely yield a lot of JOY! However, it was a lot more fragile than it looked, and shattered the moment she hopped off the tree. Most of the fragments were larger pieces which she quickly salvaged, but parts of the candy were lost for good...
On his third tree now, Marosa stretched to warm up, feeling up to the task to attempt to gather a second basket full.
He was incredibly lucky to get a lot on the first try, but after becoming cocky, he fumbled and knocked over his basket quite a few times, sending the current candy rolling. The faerie looked forlornly at the basket, sighing and wings drooping as he glanced back up at the tree. All cockiness gone, Marosa focused on just getting candy, now dancing around the tree and jumping and leaping to get what he could, occasionally bumping into the tree to allow some to fall.
Glancing at his now full basket, he noticed that he was one short, and smiled. Not too bad, but he learned not to get cocky. In a place like this, one couldn't be too sure how things would end up.
Sophie clutched to Alex as they.. transported to Christmasland. Once they had arrived safely, the ghoul relaxed, letting out a sigh of relief, and pulled her jacket tightly around her. Oh, collecting candy? That seemed easy enough! Pulling away from her brother, she eyed the gingerbread trees. The ghoul didn't like the look of their sturdiness - or lack thereof and wasn't particularly fond of the idea of climbing them and possibly falling. So she did the next best thing. She shoved the tree with all her might, shaking loose some candies.
It seemed to have the desired results and the ghoul happily picked up candy canes, gum drops and other various pieces of candy, placing them in her basket. This wasn't so bad. They weren't getting attacked, at least. Maybe Christmasland wasn't so bad after all.
Sophie skipped along to the next tree and gave it the same treatment as the one before, seeing as it yielded great results previously. She was happy to discover it worked just as well this time and picked up more candy, placing it in her basket.
This time Sophie didn't give a little shove. The candy was easy pickings and so she placed her basket down, stepped back a few paces from the tree and then ran shoulder first into it. She grunted a little at the impact but was pleased to find the candies all fell down; enough to fill her basket and have some left over. She picked them up quickly, tossing them into her basket and shuffling over to Alex with a proud grin. "Easy!" Candy: 29. 1 basket full. 9 left over!

The peppermint smell was getting to him, Roch thought. He'd figured he'd be okay for a while--it wasn't as if they'd exploded a peppermint bomb this time--but it WAS, because everyone was knocking it down and exploding various pieces of candy. It wasn't much better that he'd gotten a lot on himself.
He was feeling like heaving in the bushes at this point, so he pulled at the handkerchief around his neck--and promptly dashed for the bushes before he could manage to put it on properly, puking behind a lovely little bush with gumdrop flowers.
Terra was discreetly looking for someone that wouldn't mind cuddling in order to warm her up. Even if her brother hadn't been vomiting over the smell, he would have been out.
Climbing was for people who weren't fortunate enough to be able to fly. Though instinct drove her to tuck her wings tight to preserve heat against the freezing cold, Taima pushed past it, focused on the objective Red had put forth. Instead, she shot into the frosty air, above the grove of gingerbread trees. She took a moment to study the way they dotted the bright white landscape, fighting the urge to ignore the rules and travel further into Christmas, before turning her attention back to her task. Her sharp eyes picked out a single Joy-laden tree, and she tucked her wings and dove toward it. Landing lightly on a gingerbread branch, she tested its strength by shaking it. Candied Joy fell from it, and it didn't seem like it might crumble beneath her feet, so she stepped further out onto it and...bounced. As she hopped up and down on the gingerbread branch, Joy candies fell from the tree like raindrops. By the time the candy stopped dropping, Taima's basket was overflowing. With a pleased grin, she fluttered to the ground and collected it, putting a few of the excess pieces in her pocket. Maybe she'd be able to eat study it later.

I am SO sorry--she's not used to cold. At all.
Teeth chattering, her makeup gone--showing that she was rather a pretty little thing with a distinct tattoo of a flower on her forehead, Terra moved to a place behind the closest friend she had in the class, Xiu. And she trailed along behind her like a freezing little puppy, sniffling once in a while.
It was pathetic. Almost as pathetic as Roch sitting back in the snow and wiping his mouth off with a curse. It seemed Christmasland wasn't a very nice place to the Scythe scarelings.
With Red ripping up their forms just as Levi returned to her seat by West, the tatzel raised a brow, but thought she understood what the professor was talking about; this was a stealthy mission. They weren't looking for a ruckus, but to lay low like the trip to Valentines Town; minus the costumes.
As instructed, Levi looked into the orb without hesitation to the point of her bottom feeling cold. It was really quite abnormally cold. Why was it so- oh. Before she knew it, this new form of transport had whisked her and her peers into the land of peppermint and tiny-legged critters. Well I'll be. Catching West's entry just in time caused the ghoul to stifle snicker. Instead of continuing through with a bit of playful joking at his expense, Levi followed the demon towards achieving their sought out goal; it was candy picking time.
Beginning to make her way up one of the fragile trees herself, Levi used her tail to try and reach towards candies left and right in the distance, trying not to wobble too much. Problem was the branches couldn't handle her weight for excessive amounts of time- which was not nearly long enough. If we're gonna git anythin'- The crackling of the branch under her filled her ears and Levi had to drop the candies she held in order to make use of her tail to grapple to another sturdy branch. If she didn't, the candy would crackle under the pressure of her tail constricting with gingerbread. One too many candies were lost in this, but she did manage to take hold of a whole two pieces of gummies as she slinked through the tree. ...we're gonna have'ta move fast. C'mon up 'ere! Signaling down at West, Levi hissed as another candy fell nearby out of her grasp. Slippery lil'suckers. Candy corn didn't come with a slick icing exterior, okay.
