Courtesan Hall 2. Redoubt Hold 3. Paradise Falls Hold 4. Sand's End Hold (Minor Hold beholden to Western Hold)5. Western Weyr "Almost done," Sorsha sighed half to herself, stroking Leoth's golden hide. She summoned the image of Sand's End Hold in her mind as well as the coordinates, and urged her beloved to make the leap Between... Quote: 8-12: Success! You manage to make the leap without any trouble! Good job! Breathe easy! The brief shock of cold Between changed to warmth as the pair emerged over their destination. "We did it!" Sorsha fistpumped again. Of course we did. We are an extraordinary team, Mine! Leoth rumbled with waves of confidence for her rider.

Aryale of Green YaguarethStatsDistraction/Intensity: 3 Exhaustion/Alertness: 4 -1! (So is now 3 lmao) Memorization/Visualization: 4 Anxiety/Confidence: 4 Took a scare! -1! (Now is 3) Slacker/Studious: 5 Grid 3 - Hard Difficulty Level1. Waters Edge Cothold (Cothold beholden to Black Sands Hold) 2. Oasis Hold (Minor Hold beholden to Rivercrest Hold) 3. Stoney Tower Hold (Minor Hold beholden to Redoubt Hold)4. Green Plains Cothold (Cothold beholden to White Cliff Weyrhold) 5. Western Weyr It took a while to gather her heart back up, Yaguareth offering nothing but the endless support and love that she had since the beginning and would until the end. And the end has long to wait for us, my love. Trust. Yaguareth was like a steel trap and ever so composed in this time. Aryale took some of it for herself, picturing their next leap. Quote: Success and Failure! If this is your third or fourth or fifth roll, and you have an Exhaustion level of 1 or a Distraction level of 2 or 3, or Confidence of 3 or 4, or a Studious level of 4 or 5 you find yourself lost Between. Whoops! Maybe you were getting too sloppy or the coordinates too complex, or maybe you just studied the wrong thing or confused it with another Hold. Either way, you're out... unless you get some help.
If you have an exhaustion level of 4 or 5 at any time while on this grid and at this roll, you find yourself getting sleepy and will lose one Exhaustion level for the duration of the game. Everyone else is good to go! Maybe it was the surprise from their last jump, but Aryale suddenly couldn't picture the next Hold at all. Biting her lower lip, Aryale leaned into Yaguareth. Could you.....ask one of the older riders for me real quick? she asked, more than embarrassed. Yaguareth saw no reason to be - and instead took pride in that Hers put their safety over their pride.

Sorsha of Gold LeothStats:Distraction/Intensity: 3 Exhaustion/Alertness: 4 Memorization/Visualization: 5 Anxiety/Confidence: 3Slacker/Studious: 4 REROLL USED: 0 AVAILABLE: 1Sevenday 3: Grid 21. Courtesan Hall 2. Redoubt Hold 3. Paradise Falls Hold 4. Sand's End Hold (Minor Hold beholden to Western Hold) 5. Western WeyrSorsha grinned and patted Leoth's neck. "Let's go home..." Quote: 2-4: Success & Failure! If this is your fourth or fifth roll, and you happen to have a Distraction/Intensity level of 5, your certainty of the coordinates winds up being your downfall. You didn't account for the placement of the sun and you wind up lost Between. If you have an exhaustion level of 1 or 2, you botch your coordinates due to the drain. If your Memorization/Visualization skills are 3 or less, you botch remembering the exact placement and wind up lost--unless you check your coordinates. "...After I doublecheck those coordinates, just to be sure..." She'd had them right this time, and felt a little silly for having Leoth doublecheck things yet again, but she couldn't be careful enough when it came to Between. It would never do for the Weyr to lose a queen -- even though all colors were equal there, golds were still valued. They made the jump, and blinked into the sky above Western's Weyr Bowl. "Not a bad day's work," Sorsha smiled. It could have been better... but then again, it could have been much, much worse.

Western Weyr At least nobody was going to shame them for needing to be reminded - if nothing else, the older riders understood it very well. The jump went better with the fresh reminder. We need to see if Phryana will go over that one with us later. Maybe she knows it better than we do. Aryale almost regret mentioning the woman, because it lit up Yaguareth the same way mentioning Felisath would have - and even more in the last few days. Oh boy. Okay! Focus! Focusfocusfocus! Quote: REROLLED BELOWSuccess! You passed with flying colors! There was nothing to that jump and you're feeling great! Gain one Anxiety/Confidence level! And the jump went by without a problem, which made Aryale feel a little better after earlier. But it did not go forgotten. No. Aryale just felt better about needing to redouble her efforts.

Western Weyr The last stop was home, and Aryale wanted to think she knew what home looked like pretty well. Those she loved - that weren't Yaguareth - were there and she wanted to be there as well. Okay. Last jump today!Quote: Handwaving. No fail! Success and Failure!
If you have a Distraction Level of 3 or less, a Confidence Level of 2 or less, or a Memorization/Visualization of 3 or less, you fail! These smaller holds can be tricky, but are important to know, as dragon and rider can't always fly direct from a Major Hold!
Everyone else succeeds! Are you trying to land right on top of Kleoth's? Or Bukichi? You're thinking about both of them a lot right now, Yaguareth admonished, but with love. Aryale sat up a little straighter, pulling her thoughts from the more intimate nooks and crannys of Western and it's sentimental value to the view from above. That made home a little easier to get to, rather than the middle of some rock.

If this is your First or Second roll and you have a 1 or 2 in any of your stats, you are going to botch pretty dang hard and fail to make the leap. This ain't no child's play, after all. You need to be alert, you need to know your s**t, and you need to know how the heck to do this! If you fail to make the leap, you must either keep yourself from dying by asking for help, or taking a Scare and dropping your confidence down by one point! If you roll this three times or more, let Uta know, so she can axe an NPC to take the fall in your place.

Green Plains Cothold (Cothold beholden to White Cliff Weyrhold) 5. Western Weyr Sorsha had stayed up studying half the night in preparation for the final week of Between lessons. The targets were smaller holds she'd never heard of -- she only knew the ones closest to the Weyr. Still, she had managed to get good sleep once she finally went to bed, and climbed aboard Leoth in a good, optimistic mood. "Okay, my love," she smiled, patting the gold weyrling's shoulder, "are you ready to do this?" Of course, Leoth replied with a snort. We will undoubtedly prevail! With a bright laugh, Sorsha visualized the first destination as clearly as she could and gave the coordinates to Leoth... Quote: 4: Success and Failure! Everyone else? You're good to go! ... and the pair emerged from the sudden cold and black of Between over the small cothold near Black Sands Hold. "Yes!" Sorsha fistpumped quietly. This was a very good start!

She'd had a little trouble with Redoubt Hold a few times before, and this one was a small hold beholden to Redoubt. Concentrating on the name -- Stoney Tower -- she visualized it and sent the coordinates to her beloved gold... Quote: 6: Success! You passed with flying colors! Of course, she knew they would have to complete the circuit several more times during this last sevenday, but that was for the next run. The excitement of being one step closer to becoming a fully-fledged dragonrider was all that mattered right now!

Redoubt Hold 3. Paradise Falls Hold 4. Sand's End Hold 5. Western Weyr
So they were running the same series of jumps again, but both Neuwith and Taibbi had agreed it was the right choice. They had not fared so well as they'd hoped earlier, and so now it was time to prove that their determined, almost furious studying had paid off.
We will be great, Neuwith assured Taibbi. You know these coordinates backward, forward, and all the other directions.
Taibbi swallowed hard. As long as I get them the right way around on the first try, that's all that matters. Backward would probably be bad.
Neuwith took a moment to consider, and then answered, That's true. So we'll just do them forward then, as usual.
Right... Taibbi agreed. Even so, she requested a coordinate check before they left, ignoring her dragon's baffled exclamations. She didn't want to end up lost.

Quote: 2-4: Success & Failure! If this is your second or third roll, if your Exhaustion Level of 3 or higher is going to be reduced by one for the rest of your rolls. i.e. If you had them down as a 5, they are now feeling like a 4. All future rolls will be based on this number until you finish the game. If you had them as a 4, they are now down to a 3, and if you had them as a 3 they are now down to a 2. You are feeling mentally exhausted! 3. Paradise Falls Hold 4. Sand's End Hold 5. Western Weyr
You probably didn't need to do that, Neuwith chided Taibbi as they appeared above Courtesan Hall.
Maybe, Taibbi agreed, though privately she was certain that, were it not for checking the coordinates, things would have gone badly awry for them. But we're here, aren't we? That's the important thing.
Neuwith agreed and flew a zippy circle around the Hall while Taibbi worked to fix Redoubt Hold in her mind. It was there. She knew it was, but focusing on how nearly she had killed them both before made it harder to hold the coordinates in her mind, and she agonized over passing them along to Neuwith.
What if she was wrong?
