The gun quickly emptied itself, having only held three rounds and fired them all in under a second. The slugs tore through the tendrils of the mage, and punctured large holes in his arms, causing him to scream and drop the weakened soldier. As was almost typical of various Niearcim mages, a quick moment's concentration, and the wounds were healed up in flash. He was going to send all his tendrils at Rosemary, until somebody very fast and very large suddenly scooped her up in one arm, and ran. This blur of a person also grabbed Daphne, saving her from being pounced upon by a black hunter.

Their rescuer was strong, fast, and had six arms, firing a rifle behind him while holding onto the two vampires. They could see no other details due to the obscuring Limboian suit and helmet armor he wore.

Soldier: "The name's Pok... we got to get you out of here."

They rushed through the chaos, avoiding tooth, claw, and spell and gunfire, until they came across Cian. Seeing him surrounded by hunters, Pok stowed away his assault rifle in a pocket dimension on his belt, while taking out a vicious looking sniper rifle. With his numerous arms, he was able to both easily hold the vampires and take steady aim. He fired his first shot, the sound loud but muffled due to a silencer. A large bullet tore through the air, and punctured the armor of a black hunter's skull. The demon screeched in pain for a moment, before there was a dampened explosion, and small bits of jagged metal jutted out of the softer parts of his flesh... the round had entered, expanded, then exploded into shrapnel inside the demon. All the hunter demons that had been attacking Cian stopped and began to go after Pok.

Pok: "You! Get to safety, help me get these women out of danger! HURRY!"

He began to fire less than accurate shots due to the fast swarming nature of the hunters. They weren't as lethal as his first kill, but they were still damaging, forcing the hunters back in order to rethink their tactics. Though the gun went dry in six shots, Pok was able to reload it in the blink of an eye, barely affecting the speed at which he was firing.

Elsewhere in Limbo, Jacob cried out as he felt a sharp sensation pierce through his chest and grip his heart. The pain lasted for a minute, then dulled to a throbbing ache. When others asked what was wrong, he simply blamed it on his immortality curse. In his mind though, he knew the vampires he swore to protect were suffering...

- - - - -

Veni was quickly dragged, and slammed into the soul draining structure, the claws carefully but still harshly ripping away from his heart as he was suddenly bound. If he thought he couldn't feel any weaker, he was wrong as the strange creature-building began to drain away at the essence and energy of his very soul. He realized that even if it were the middle of the night and had been at full strength, this vile thing would have taken the fight out of him in seconds. It didn't help that the demons seemed to have intentionally left him out in the sun, instead of placing him on the shady spot on the other side.

The pillars of flame caught some of the hunters on fire, but not enough. Ruin had caught flame himself, but managed to quell the burning with a quick spell. The gunfire had continued, and in fact had given a hunter enough time to sneak up on Sephiroth, forcing him to immediately use his draining spell on the immediate threat so he could quickly decapitate the stunned creature.

Just as the abyss demon stopped firing due to running out of ammunition, tossing aside the gun he considered useless, a rogue grenade flew through the air and landed at his feet. Snarling, the demon grabbed the explosive and hurled it away from him. It instead bounced off a tree, and landed right next to Sephiroth's feet. There was just enough time left for him to quickly kick the thing out of his danger zone.

The grenade tumbled and bounced, and exploded far away enough from Sephiroth to not be an immediate danger. However, fate decided to have a strange sense of humor, as the round object went off next to a pile of rocks, sending them scattering, and one flying directly at the forehead of Sephiroth.

"...Rosemary..." she was glad this soldier didn't smell like he had injured himself. She didn't feel very well after having the strength zapped from her. She still had those painful things in her arm and legs. Her eyes gazed a little enviously at the silenced sniper. Sometimes she wondered if she had something as damaging as they had if she'd get injured so quickly less.

When they got to wherever Cian was it didn't occur to her that Veni wasn't there at first. She really wanted to lay down somewhere and close her eyes for a while. In fact it wasn't until later, when they were in a more safer environment with Cian with them, that she realized Veni was missing.

"Where's Veni? Is Veni here? I don't see him." And she has wonderful eyesight as vampires do, so if he was there she'd most likely catch a glimpse as she'd scan the crowd and recognize him.

---

Veni gripped his heart as soon as he was able to. Soon he found he couldn't do that or even hold his head up. He hadn't gotten the chance to prepare himself for day walking like he normally did. He closed his eyes against it. He wanted to sleep. A part of him wanted to thrash about, but it just couldn't seem to surface.

Soon he began to get a worse headache and feel even more sick than he did originally along with other symptoms besides vomiting associated with too much heat/sun. Within 10-15 minutes his exposed skin started to turn the pink of a sunburn. From there it progressively got worse: really red/blistered skin and second degree burns, to that of a more third degree nature, but that would take at least an hour.

----

Sephiroth vanished, unwittingly with the rock, to the first place of hopeful relative safety he could think of: THoR might not be an option in his mind and to his knowledge no one passed him towards GL's spot. As soon as they reappeared, the rock made contact. In an almost comedic fashion (one leg up, arms spread, etc), Sephiroth blacked out with a decent bump on his head.

Galantros couldn't help but be curious as he heard a thwack, a grunt, and a heavy thump just outside of his hiding spot. He struggled with whether or not he should investigate, until a gut feeling told him to finally look outside. Brushing aside the leaves and foilage, GL climbed out of his hole and assumed his normal reaper-demon form, stumbling a bit.

Glancing down, he saw Sephiroth laying flat on the ground, with a size-able knot on his noggin. Looking around to make sure there wasn't any demons about, he tried to think about what he should do. Finally, he decided he should get Sephiroth to back to THoR where there were some medical supplies. Carefully, he began dragging the man's body back, trying to ignore the weakness his curse inflicted upon him. He only hoped the others were okay.

Daphne's eyes were wide but she managed to whisper her name though the shock was over whelming. "...Daphne." Then She saw Cian. He saw her. Crimson eyes locked. Something passed through the two of them. Daphne shook it off.

-------------------------

Cian took off running after the mysterious soldier who carried Daph and Rosemary. Then Rosemary asked the question that stopped his running thoughts. "Veni...I have no idea...something happened..." His face was screwed up in concentration. He really couldn't remember.

Pok: "There's too much chaos, we need to get you all to safety first."

*Pok seemed to be doing a good job of getting the group out of the current location, rifle firing shot after shot... one at point blank range on a hunter that had been invisible and snuck up on him, it's head bursting apart like a watermelon with solid armored chunks.

Unfortunately, all his marksman skills were busy picking off the flood of hunters around them to be able to fend off the mage Ruin as he flew above the treetops. Black streams of energy, the spell known as the stream of the damned, burst from the mage's hands, and blasted apart Pok's legs. The soldier cried out, his lower limbs instantly vaporizing into bloody mist. The stream traveled up his body, tearing at the soldier's waist and gnawing at his stomach... Pok made sure Daphne and Rosemary were away from the streams.

Ruin was just about to kill the soldier until a gunshot tore through his stomach. This forced the mage to stop and return to the battles below, behind the cover of trees.

Pok gasped, his breathing shallow and rapid. He was quickly dying, but he still fired his gun to keep the demons at bay. Realizing he was near death, and how important it was to save civilians, Pok decided to do something that was drastic for his species.

A small flash of light, and a 6 armed, white-skinned humanoid ghostly figure emerged from Pok's broken body. Pok's soul had removed itself from it's earthly form, though it was still reacting, firing and reloading the gun at the hunters as it bled to death while the suit he wore extended his life for a short time. He quickly scooped up Rosemary and Daphne again, and continued to run, urging Cian with them.

Pok: "I... I don't have much time or ammunition left. We have to hurry. Get you all somewhere.. somewhere safe."

Eventually, they came to the front door of THoR. Pok, although able to carry the two women and run in his spirit form, still seemed to suffer from pain... apparently still linked to his dying and injured body. He carefully set them down, as he hunched over, struggling to breathe.

Off to to the side behind some trees and bushes, the plant life rustled as Galantros dragged Sephiroth through, stopping to rest every few seconds. The others could see him, but he was so preoccupied with his current task that he didn't see them.

Rosemary frowned an looked a little sad the rest of their trip back. "Thank you."

After she was set down she tried putting some weight on a leg and decided it hurt too much to stand still with something sticking through her leg. She then tried to remove the intrusions by pushing it out with her fingers since her body was currently too weak to do that for her.

After following the soldier, BlackMN came running past GL and Sephiroth. She saw the state the vampires were in...Rosemary hurt...She ran into the house and came out a few mins later with blood packs.

Rosemary frowned at the thing never liking it, but there wasn't exactly someone she could conveniently suckle off of at the moment. She also hid the frown she had for BlackMN wondering if she was better. "You're decent with magic aren't you Cian? After I check that man will you help me cast multiple death wards against people who would wish us harm around the place?"

Cian nodded, stepping aside a little. He started murmering words that sounded distinctly Latin, they flowed together, loosing meaning. His eyes were closed through the chanting but suddenly he stopped and raised his hands horizontial to the ground. His eyes opened and they were glowing a
bright red, around the house letters in some dead language appeared in the air. As he began to chant again, the letters drifted down into the earth, seemingly to sink into it, all the while his hands moving with them until they were down at his sides. He stopped, and blinked, immediately his eyes were the normal shade. He turned to Rosemary and nodded again.

"Rosemary," Daphne said quietly, "Let me see your leg." She slid on her bum over to Rosemary and handled the leg tenderly. Her touch was timid but soft, knowing but still hesitant. "I am going to try to heal you." She murmered. Rosemary had only achieved getting the intrusions out halfway, so delicately Daphne pulled out the one in her leg, then in her arm. Daphne took a deep breath and whispered something so soft it was practically unheard. A simple french verb.
"disparaître"
She felt a gentle heat in her hands and moved it along Rosemary's wounds. Of course when she grew older this would work faster and with much more ease but right now it was healing the wound.
Daphne was so intent that she did not notice when Cian nor Black came back.
PostPosted: Sun Nov 11, 2007 1:03 am
Rosemary chuckled a little. She figured he could do something having cursed himself and Daphne, but she didn't expect him to do the whole thing in one go.

She flinched a little as Daphne helped her remove the things. She was glad someone else was trying to remove them and not just her. "That is a useful skill you have. I didn't know you had it. Thank you."

When she was able to stand/glide again, she offered to allow the soon to be totally dead man into the house and then approached GL and helped him in. She looked at Sephiroth and noticed that his arm was well scratched. She also looked carefully at his bump with both normal and vampire eyes. It had healed some... "He should be dead. That rock hit him in an area that should have killed him. He'll be fine."

She gave him a healing potion she had to help him recover soon. As for GL she didn't know what to do with him, so she suggested that he go into the bathing room and absorb as much energy as he could. Maybe the his ailment could only take so much before it overloaded.

As for BlackMN....she didn't know what to do with her. Rosemary had a feeling that something wasn't right with the girl still, but if the ribbons didn't even work at suppressing her power...she didn't know what to do except put them on again and start up an anti-teleporting shield in one of the medical rooms...and lock her in there with toys, food, and such. It was decently fire proof.

She wondered where Veni was the whole time she did this and when she was done helping people she concentrated on what connection she had with him left to try to find out what had become of him.

Galantros: "I'm not sure if soaking in that heat energy will help, but I guess it's worth a try... I'm sorry that.... that I couldn't keep hold of Black."

GL took the in the scene around him. Sephiroth healing rapidly. Daphne had just healed Rosemary, an ability he didn't know the vampire even had. He blinked a little at that, but wasn't too shocked by it... Although when he thought about it, this wasn't Limbo. How did she learn that ability?

Rosemary was possibly still weak, even with the blood packets avaliable... he... wanted to help her, he knew she would prefer to feed off a living being like him. He would have been more than willing to now, but he was just felt too weak. Maybe if he hooked up himself up to an electrical socket so he'd offer infinite energy for a while... but would the curse let that work? It'd probably wouldn't.

He then glanced over at what seemed to be some sort of dying, ghost-like being stumbling against the couch. He couldn't see any injuries on the man, so he didn't understand why he was suffering so much...

Pok fell against the couch, not quite making it into the seat, falling onto the floor instead. He held onto his legs, his stomach, onto various parts of his body in pain.

Pok: "Somebody... please. It hurts... somebody come here. I don't want to die alone... I'm scared, somebody please be with me..."

The spirit of the soldier seemed to fade a bit more as he quietly sobbed. He was trying not to think of what the demons were doing to his body while it was running on automatic. When someone finally approached Pok's form, he grasped for their hand, gasping for air and shuddering, thanking whoever came to be with him in his last moments... he finally stopped moving, his spirtual body going limp. After a moment, it began to disperse into glowing particles that dissolved into the air.

Once Rosemary tried to find Veni through her connection with him, she was only able to get a few things.... being bound, being burnt, and gravestones. Something was trying to block their connection.
PostPosted: Sun Nov 11, 2007 4:15 pm
Daphne wasn't paying attention to the hustle about her. She looked toward her savior. The soldier. Pok. She heard his words, they tore against her heart. He can't die...But he has to, a rational voice in her head answered. Daphne lifted herself off the floor, answering Pok's call, walking as if her body was drawn to him. She wanted to help him..heal him..But he was a ghost. She sunk to the floor by him. Her tears started pouring silently down her cheeks, getting heavier and heavier as he started to fade, as he thanked her, as he drew his last breath. "No, thank you." She whispered, though he was gone. Her body shook under silent sobs. Her shirt started to stain with blood...or more blood anyway. Her cheeks finally gained a red color...But it was from the drops of crimson that issued from her eyes.

Cian looked around, needing to be of service somehow. Rosemary was trying to get ahold of Veni--Cian could relate to that feeling of anxiety. He saw Gl doing the same thing as him, looking around. Black had just returned with blood packs. Last time he saw Daphne, she was healing Rosemary. He smiled. He didn't know she could do that. However he looked back to the spot where she had been and she wasn't there. He looked around frantically, afraid the spirits possessed her again, until he felt a familar tug at his heart. An aching sorrow. He turned around and his eyes lighted upon her at last. Cian saw his child...his beloved trembling as the body of Pok disappeared. Cian's feet could not move fast enough, though he had vampiric speed. He lifted Daphne off the floor with ease, and sat down on the couch, pulling her on to his lap. All of this was as though it were one motion. Immediately, her body pulled closer to his, as if on instinct. As if he could relieve the pain and sorrow she felt with the simple duty of being there for her. Cian stroked Daphne's back, along her hair and shoulders as her noiseless sobs jerked her body.

"It's alright." Though I plan to lock her in a mostly fireproof room soon. I don't want to do it, but it's the only thing I can think of to do with her at the moment. I still sense something wrong. She sighed a little.

Vampires eventually discover things they can do. No one usually teaches us how to use our powers, we usually find out...but if someone did teach us I'm sure we could be more efficient about it.

*Rosemary sat next to Pok, away from Daphne, and set her hand on his head and looked sad and told him what she could of first hand experience about heaven.* A spirit doesn't always reflect the condition their body is in. Half of his is gone...vaporized by a stream of the damned spell. He left his body behind so he could carry us.

I hope he is able to get where he is supposed to go despite the barrier. Why do the people who save us often end up dying in the process?

She closed here eyes and focused on Veni. When she got something and knew what was going on she looked like she could cry. He would die if left like that...but she couldn't go to him now either she thought. She got up and ignored the sweet scene on the couch with other things on her mind and went to Galantros, not moving as gracefully as she normally did, to try to occupy herself with trying to figure out how to fix him.

PostPosted: Wed Nov 14, 2007 7:26 pm
Galantros watched as Pok's spirit faded away, wincing a bit as his empathy kicked in. Oh, that's... I'm glad he was able to bring you back safely. I'm sorry he didn't make it.

GL: "I hope he finds peace..."

The reaper noted that one person was missing. Seeing Rosemary's expression before she started to study his condition gave him a clue as to what happened, so he didn't feel the need to ask where Veni was. But he couldn't help but think it. Veni was captured, wasn't he? Rosemary, I'm so sorry...

Galantros just stared at his feet, wishing he could do something more for the people around him. Everyone's spirits seemed to be down, and for good reason. Unknowingly, his ability to emit auras was at work again, intensifying the sadness that clung in the air, and yet... making everyone want to seek comfort somehow. The reaper-demon also didn't notice that one of his wings had moved on it's own to try to stroke Rosemary's back in a soothing manner.

As Rosemary studied GL, she would find that the source of the curse was somehow coming from inside him. It apparently had woven itself intricately with his life force, making it somewhat difficult to simply dispel. A talented mage or person experienced with moderate curses and hexes would be required to undo what was done.

Daphne lifted her crimson streaked face from off of Cian's soaked shoulder, "Where's Veni?" She asked suddenly, her voice was rough but of normal volume. She looked around, seeking Rosemary until she found her by where Pok's body had been. She noticed Rosemary's expression and winced. She could not imagine the fear and heartache that Rosemary may be feeling. She could not begin to comprehend it. She felt arms tighten around her waist, noting for the first time where she sat. Her head felt heavy as she turned, her hair swishing back over her shoulder. Her eyes caught Cian's. Why was he here? Why was he doing this? She had never gotten a clear answer.

Cian rubbed Daphne's back and as she turned back he could see the questions burning in her eyes. He could probably guess them even...But now was not the time. Right now they needed to focus on something else...something dealing with the demons and mages outside.

(Note that the map is overdue for revisions)

Rosemary smiled weakly. "I suppose I would be crying if I knew him to be dead wouldn't I?"

She studied him and didn't look like she was as into it as she could be. Eventually she sighed and leaned her head against his shoulder and sobbed a little. "I don't know how to help you either."

They have him in the sunlight I believe... he could...from that...

She stood up suddenly. They had to get ready. Those soldiers would only hold off for so long...who knows when they'd decide to throw demons their way. "Galantros stop that share the feelings thing you have if you can. Alright lets prepare as much as we can for when they come. Wake the Pac-ghosts Galantors. We'll need their help to prepare for the massacre of many demons. You two vampires are able to go through walls are you not? I'll show you a place you can retreat to if we become surrounded."

She went into her office and tapped on a place in the floor. "If you go through the floor right here, you'll reach a path under this house...you'll run into rocks blocking your way, phase through them like you would a wall...then you'll reach a chamber that has another path that goes down hill. That path exits at a cave at the beach. It is hidden during high tide. The water won't reach the chamber."

She moved into her bedroom, then into her closet, and then moved aside things that led into a hidden room and came out (after several trips) with some weapons land mines, hand grenades, a sniper for her to shoot things from the roof, a cannon of all things, some random old fashioned things for war that she thought could be used, razor sharp bob wire (she got smart after several attacks), among other things...be creative...maybe she stole a limbo weapon...or her weapon's dealer in Limbo snuck one in.

"Let us prepare as much as we can and as quickly as possible. When they come, it'll most likely be from the side that leads to Barton."

She gave out instructions on what to do and such while they prepared. Rosemary kept watch for the most part from the roof and set it up. Snipers, a machine gun, and bazookas...all covered in the color of her roof. They also attempted to bring up a barrier around the house that prevented people from teleporting from outside of it into it.. She instructed GL to go hide in that one place with BlackMN and Sephiroth when she told him to. If he couldn't get there, she said to hide in that hidden room of hers and make sure to cover the entrance to it well.

Daphne nodded as Rosemary gave out instructions. Cian was holding her hand...Daphne could not understand why he was doing that. It was like he wouldn't let go of her since her tears. But most of all...she couldn't understand what this feeling inside of her was. This unquenchable joy. She felt fear and worry and all of the "normal" things but she couldn't understand this one. Cian let go of her hand reluctantly and made a trail across her left cheekbone and jaw line with his hand. Then he was gone.

Cian stood outside, about to prepare another spell. His hands were raised, bent at the elbows, his eyes closed. He muttered a word under his breath and suddenly sparks of violet and blue issued from the soil all around the grounds of ThoR. They made a faint popping sound . Cian understood this was what they needed most. A magic barrier. Suddenly, his eyes opened and they were a dark purple color, and he snapped his fingers and the sparks exploded. A fine mist the color of the mederterianian sea spread forth and created a type of thin fog. Slowly, it started to drift once more to the ground. A second spell was placed on the house. No one could use magic...no one except for the caster...except for Cian.

But then...the mist started to reappear. Cian looked to his left then to his right and a few feet away stood Daphne, her eyes a hazy color as she calle the fog. When she finished, Cian walked behind her and hugged her from behind, wrapping his arms around her waist. He felt her stiffen, "Why are you doing all of this...?" She asked quietly.
