Jade Legacy [L5R 3eR] - Act 1: Atsumari/Gathering

"Come, Kan-san, let's see what is happening. This might end in unneeded bloodshed, and we should stop it."

He quickly followed Sosuke, trying not to be kept behind.

@ Crane Shenanigans:

"Give me ONE reason why I shouldn't kill you, Koan! Just ONE!" Sosuke pointed the tip of his sword at a half-undressed Koan, pinned to the far side of the tent. Toyoko's garb was quickly being pulled around her, tears streaming down her face.

"I can think of many reasons. Which one do you want?" Koan would ask, completely straight-faced and unfrightened.

"CUT THE s**t, KOAN! YOU TRIED TO RAPE MY BABY SISTER! NOW TELL ME, WHY SHOULDN'T YOU DIE?!"

"S-Sosuke..." Toyoko would say, trying her best to reign in her emotions, but still shaking, visibly upset.

"I wouldn't have done anything Toyoko wouldn't have wanted done in the first place," Koan said plainly. "Besides, if you so much as harm a hair on my head, the magistrates will expel both of you from the tournament, and your own life may be forfeit. Not to mention, her future. Think about... ah, Zanzen-san!" Koan said, gesturing towards the Crane bushi as he entered the tent. "You'll be so kind as to escort these trespassers from our property, won't you? I'm afraid our would-be killer has me as a disadvantage."

"Stay out of my way, Zanzen-san! This has nothing to do with you! This is just between me and him!" Sosuke reassures the Kakita, his own sword still lifted.

Seichiro and Kan may arrive after the next post...

"I can't do that. I don't know what happened here, but I won't allow you to kill him because of something he may or may not have done. Settle this with the Magistrates, not with your sword." He kept his tone even, but also kept his hands ready to draw if need be.

"What this piece of s**t tried to do was an unforgivable sin! I would be doing him a greater honor by putting him out of his misery now, rather than allowing him to go on living!" Sosuke seemed adamant about killing Koan, but for what it's worth, he hasn't attempted it yet.

"Sosuke, please, let's just go... I want to go..."

"Go ahead and try, Sosuke. Your blade won't even make it to my body before Zanzen-san has cut you to pieces, in front of your sister." Koan said, refusing to back down.

Seichiro, you can show up now!

Seichiro entered the tent with haste, worried that Sosuke might start swinging his sharpened steel soon. "Koan-san, Zanzen-san, what is happening here? Why is he shouting and waving his blade around?" He would slowly walk towards Sosuke, trying to get between Koan and Sosuke.

He glared at Koan. "No, I will not. Seichiro-san, please keep a hold of Koan-san till the guards arrive. Sosuke-san, we will settle this without killing. Put your sword away. Kan-san, please take Toyoko-san out of here." He glares towards Koan and Sosuke. "Any more disagreements about this and perhaps I shall consider removing your arms."

@ Crane/Lion Shenanigans:

Koan would shoot a glance to Seichiro, before responding to Zanzen. "I'm sorry, but 'keep hold' of me? I'm not brandishing weapons nor trying to escape. I think your priorities are skewed, Kakita Zanzen."

Sosuke would likewise shoot a glare at Zanzen and Kan. "I beg your pardon, but no one is touching my sister, and she is not leaving without me as her escort. And how do you propose to settle this? He is a monster, and his sins unforgivable. If it were not for the Fortune's grace, I might not have arrived in time to stop him. What if he tries this again?"

Koan reached up and rubbed his temples. "Can you Phoenix think of nothing but your spells and your mysteries? I. Didn't. DO. Anything. Wrong." He would gesture towards the hole in the side of the tent with an open palm. "Feel free to go discuss it with a magistrate. There's three to choose from. I'm no coward, and I'm no criminal. I'm not going to go anywhere. Now, if you don't mind..." Koan would pull his kimono up over his shoulders, slipping his slender arms back into the sleeves, before going to sit.

Sosuke's hand shoot, the weapon quaking with equal fervor. Turning his head towards Zanzen and Seichiro, he seemed more desperate. "He's... he's going to get away with it if I don't do something! Please!"

Toyoko would clutch her brother's leg tightly with both arms, looking up at Zanzen with tear-filled eyes, wanting to say something but incapable of finding the words.

Seichiro, if you are trying to get into an intercepting position to jump someone, please roll me Agility/Stealth [Sneaking]. Beware, there is honor loss for making the roll.

Seichiro grabbed Sosuke's kimono, his eye filled with a fierce look.

"Sosuke-san! Compose yourself! Your way of acting this evening ill befits a samurai in the service of the Emperor! You are Toyoko's brother, that is true, but you do not dictate her actions! She is a grown woman, with the ability to reason on her own. She does not need you interfering with her life, as much as you'd like to think. She loves Doji Koan, and they were having their private moment, before you decided to act like a lunatic and destroy the Crane clan's tent. Apologize to both your sister and Doji Koan, and if you HAVE a problem with Koan-san, then take it with a magistrate."

He put his other hand on top of Sosuke's blade, trying to lower it. At this distance, it seemed that even he could get injured.

"If you thirst for blood, then strike me down. But look at your sister. Look at the shame you're brought her."

He gritted his teeth, looking between the two. Opening his mouth to speak, he was cut off by Seichiro's intervention. Luckily for these two, it probably saved them some time recovering, just from the death grip Zanzen had on his blade's sheathe.

It was pretty much all fine, until Seichiro mentioned the part of Toyoko loving Koan. If it made an audible sound, the lot of them there would probably have heard the sound of the poor girl's heart breaking. Tears would begin flowing from her eyes as she suddenly got up and ran through the crowd of bushi and servants out into the night.

"TOYO-CHAN!" Sosuke would call out, actually dropping his sword to chase after his sister.

"Wait! I said wait! Stop, or I'll... oh, nevermind..."

The sound of the footfalls of a horse would be heard approaching, as someone dismounted.

"Alright. What in Jigoku is going on here?" Seppun Benjiro would inquire, looking quite stern, throwing open the makeshift entrance to the tent.

Seichiro sighed in relief, thankful no blood had to be spilled. He would look at Seppun Benjiro, and cleared his throat.

"I just came from the Tea Ceremony competition, and when I got to the Lion tent, I saw that Sosuke kid angrily running towards the Crane tent. In order to stop anything bad from happening, I decided to intervene, before it was too late. Sosuke drew iron at Doji Koan, but left right before you left."

After hearing the thundering of hooves race by the tent, Kojiro thought it *might* be time to investigate, although he's sure that Naizen probably knows everything already....first hand knowledge may be useful.

Groggily, Kojiro exited the tent and saw the box in front of it. "Why'd someone leave that there?" Kojiro would look around to see if anyone nearby was attached to this specific box. The Scorpion decided to see if he could back track the Box's progress so he could take it back to its owners or at least see who they were.

There would be no one nearby, though plenty of recent activity through the dirt here. Kojiro was JUST BARELY able to follow the path the trunk had made in the dirt, and it seemed to lead, eventually... to the Dragon Clan tent?

Kojiro would shrug as he followed the path made by the trunk. he then knocked gently on one of the tent's outer poles. "Good evening! Is anyone still awake? Kojiro asked cautiously.

"Seppun-sama. I was taking a walk when Sosuke-san wished to know if I knew if Toyoko-san was here with Koan-san. When I could not confirm it, he came here anyways. I asked Wazuka-san to alert the guards that there may be trouble and followed. Toyoko-san was upset, though on whether it was because of Sosuke-san's claims to Koan-san attempting to rape her or because of what was going on, I do not know. These are serious claims, however. Koan-san's words of defense did little to make me think other than that he may have been 'forceful' in his attempts at seduction, if it can even be taken at that. Since this is an accusation of one Samurai on another, I did my best to stall til the guards or a magistrate could arrive to deal with the situation. I am grateful for your timely arrival, had this gone on much longer, I may have had to draw blood if they did not seem keen on waiting."
