((It does get pretty quiet in here, poor bored beings. I don't think they play the games much, not nearly as interesting as what goes on in someone's mind. Fortunately, Pierre doesn't seem to mind when someone crashes on the couch, or the hot tub... think Bandy's done that a few times. At least they won't toss you in the box.))

Jack shuffles in to the bar, his boots scuffing the floor as he walks over to the bar. The bartender looks up and hurries in to the kitchen. He returns with Pierre.

Jack, old friend, it's good to see you.
Pierre, old friend, eh? What's up?

Pierre shakes his head, motioning Jack to follow and the two men walk out to the patio. They follow the path towards the springs.

Things are not good. Some of the young ones have started communicating with our guests. Using our ways. The people here are intelligent. Enough to suspect we aren't what we seem.

Jack tenses at what he's hearing but let's Pierre continue.

We're supposed to have been eliminated, my people. I've taken in refugees, runners. They've confirmed my kind no longer exist in our homeland, Jack. If word gets out, they'll come for us here. Our guests are of no consequence to our enemies. Another people to obliterate, destroy. Take over this world as they did mine.

*He lights his cigar, filling his lungs with smoke, exhales. He remembers. Pierre saving his life, saving Pierre and a handful of his kind. Sealing the portal. Remembers the smell of blood, smoke, burnt flesh, death.*
