Walking quietly down the travel roads, Samuru kept his hands in his pockets. His boots left scuff marks in the dirt as he walked, kicking up dust and rocks. Still preoccupied with his mother's remarks and his own, he kept his thoughts to himself and didn't say much.

Coming a jerkish halt, Samuru pulled his head up to blink down at Jae "W-What, Jae?" he hadn't noticed Jae's hands waving about or that she'd tried to get his attention. Reaching up, he grabbed her hands on his shoulders, holding them "Are you ok?"

Staring at him long and hard she searched his steady gaze for anything that might give her a hint to as what was distracting him so much. She couldn't coddle him, however, and she slipped her hands through his light grip. Placing her hands on her hips she shook her head. "Nope. No problem on this end. Let's hurry on over to Takumi then. You have an exam to get to." She said quickly, filling the silence with her voice before it could return to that expansive distracted silence Samuru had lost himself in.

Samuru just blinked as Jae shook her head and watched her as they started off again. He couldn't help a smile as he thought She's my only friend....but I don't think I could ask for a better one. I hope....I hope I don't have to lose her. the thought of losing her....it was more terrifying then he wanted to admit. And the emotions that came with it...he shook them off, running a bit to catch up to her.
