The room was shifting now. And for the moment, Jericho was stunned as the gold began to churn all around, multiplying. The gold. Was. MULTIPLYING. AND IT WAS MOVING ALL AROUND THEM!

"YES! YEESSSS!!!" she cheered before reaching out to grab something. Oh. It was a table. And somehow it helped managed to keep her large body afloat. But hey, she didn't give a damn. She was SWIMMING IN TREASURE.

The glorious. GLORIOUS TREASURE. It was getting hard to move around in her large form like this though, so she fished around for her pin and resumed her female student body, while still holding onto the table.

The treasure would be all hers and no one will be able to take it. The whispers didn't matter right now.

Just as Xiu was about to response--honestly, he was touched that Yin was willing to fight with him (since Hunters were usually quite dangerous...maybe even when they were tiny)--the baku suddenly found himself being surrounded by...gold? A lot of gold.

Way too much gold.

Without hesitating, he reached out and snatched at the curtains, closing his fist tightly around the cloth as the gold threatened to pull him under. There were alarmed cries from around him as students and hunters alike scrambled to find something to cling to. What would happen if they got dragged under? He didn't know, but he didn't want to find out. "Y-Yin Cang, quick! Grab onto something!"

He breathed a sigh of relief when Siddie took him away from Savior. Wilson silently lifted his head to face the shadow monster. At least one crisis was averted, but there was still so many more he had to wriggle his way out of. It was uncomfortable being in the creature’s arms. He took the moment to cover his face with his small hands. The monster reminded him so much of the shadows that plagued his aunt’s house. “It’s okay.” Wilson managed to mutter until the room began to shake.

The room filled with clanging gold and somehow it was shrinking. He scrambled out of Siddie’s arms. There was no time for acting! It was time to try and freaking survive. The shadow thing appeared to be thinking the same thing when he shoved the boy toward a picture frame, which Wilson gladly clung to. He looked back, watching Siddie begin to disappear beneath the gold.

Savior was not going to go down without a fight, not while he still hadn't gotten to eat that blasted kid, and as soon as the coins started flowing in Savior made a mad dash for the nearest person, not wanting to drown and die all thanks to whatever was going on.

He happened to grab onto the leg of a child, one of the scarelings. At least he wasn't going to die.

Shitshitshit. They were well and truly busted. Good going, Caelius. Jordan clenched his fists and was about to take a swing at the nearest monster - go for the solar plexus and hope the anatomy was similar enough to have the same effect - when the noise began.

The treasure was multiplying. Somehow. He glanced around frantically, then jumped for the nearest table, scrambling up laboriously onto the top. "Guys!" he yelled towards the others, and stretched a hand out. "Over here! - wha?"

A hand had somehow latched onto his leg ... belonging to a freak. He yelped and tried to pull his leg back. "Get off!"

IT WORKED!! Otto felt like he was master of deception!

He nodded nervously to the dog as it curled around him, feeling partly smug he had a guard dog and partly scared that it would kill him if it knew he was a hunter. "Nuru...Uh.. I'm Otto.." He murmured to the dog, before suddenly...

Tedan instantly forgot about attacking, for two reasons. One. Candy. CANDY. THE MONSTER WAS OFFERING HIM CANDY. And who cared about that whole 'strangers with candy thing', candy was candy. But before he could respond to the bribe, everything started sinking. Reason number two to forget the attacking idea.

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHH!!" he screamed and jumped as high as his tiny legs could go, grabbing madly for one of the chandeliers. Then he sort of dangled there, his feet kicking around in the air.

Bul was delighted to rub Cael's head raw, but she began to feel the shattering and shaking. "Oh s**t. Playtime's over, Scareling, come on you little snot-"

She grabbed the collar of the hunter's shirt and in a rush swam through the gold to the overturned table.

Zar gave her nine thousandth nonplussed look that night as the gold began to rampantly multiply, swearing irritably as it refused to stop. She knew there'd be at least one near death or death experience, she just knew it and here it was again. She swam against the tide of wealth as long as she could until she could hardly feel the floor anymore and sharp edges were really starting to dig into her fleshy bits. She flapped her wings desperately as she tried to stay afloat.

Eventually she seized onto one of the upturned tables with the other refugees, looking around for the scareling she'd only moments before been talking to, blinking. At least they seemed to have found somewhere safe.

And she wasn't even sure why she was glad of that.

Genora could feel the tide of the gold pulling him towards the middle. He tried to swim through it as best he could until he jumped off one of the tables and grabbed hold of the chandelier.

Vanessa stared as the gold started to get closer to her. And stared. And stared a bit more.

And then she bolted for something tall, scrambling at the side of a table to keep from drowning in currency and other rarities. Getting some height, Vanessa cast a frantic look around, and then jumped toward a chandlier. That sounded like a great idea, right?

Well, at least she wasn't stuck in the gold. She'd take the chandlier seat over literally drowning in money any day.

B0nez was lolling.

Harrison was about to get more than a dollar. "We're rich!" He said, happily. He hopped up to the chandelier like a real swashbuckler. "Look, it was a trap," he said, delighted.

Before Calder could really pummel Candace, she felt the coins spill about her legs and stopped. Mounds of treasure poured around her and soon she was scrambling up to get over it - but her hooves only slipped in the coins and she could feel herself sinking. The metal was hard to crawl over, and her stomach pulled where the stitches were. Crying out, she reached out to the first creature she saw.

"Jericho!" She called out, arm out. "I'm...drowning?" It would be the most ironic death for a kelpie she ever heard of, but she was panicking too much to laugh.

Jerry had stopped sobbing, at least, retreating into a dazed, disconnected, happier place with gum drop trees and lots and lots of puppies. He liked puppies. Fluffy puppies. Candace wasn't getting spanked by a horrible horse woman. There wasn't a giant man-faced lion roaring at a snarling dragoness, there wasn't fights and screaming and he wasn't three feet tall and probably going to get trampled and the room wasn't suddenly shuddering with exploding gold...

Pooooobt poobt poooobt.... He liked his kazoo, his kazoo was the most fun thing in the world. Pooooobtapooob! He tried to hum the ninja-turtles theme. That was awesome. He used to love that show.

He was just moving onto the Inspector Gadget theme when he realized there was... definitely more gold than before. Wait...

With a yelp that sounded like a buzzing squeal through his kazoo, the little hunter suddenly scrambled, grabbing a hold of a set of curtains for dear life... but the others! Candy and Jordy and Harry!!

Arms trembling to hold him up, he dared remove the kazoo carefully, trying his hardest not to drop it as he shouted out, "C-C-C-CANDY!! G-Goo-goo-GUYS LOO-LOO-LOO-LOO-" ok, that wasn't working in his panic. But at least he was *paying attention*.
