As she was hugging and fussing over her tamed mole rat, another started to charge at her, teeth bared. Without thinking, she hopped onto the back of her tamed mole rat and pretended that she was her big brother Mot and that the mole rat was her epic mount. *A*

"BAD RAT. BAD." She whacked the attacking mole rat, but not before it managed to bite her, causing her to nearly drop her taming stick.

Mole rat HP: 2

Lizzy HP: 38

"BAD!" She whacked it with the taming stick again, and then... There was that dazed look, followed by affectionate rubbing.

"..." She paused, staring at the second mole rat suspiciously before sliding down from her epic mount first mole rat, as if not quite sure if this was a trap. Petting the second mole rat on its head, she soon started smiling, "You is the sweetest thing, aren't chu? Aren't chu, you adorable thing?"

After she fussed over the both of them, she decided to name them... Snuggly Bear and Cuddly Boo.

Ren almost staggered into Jove accidentally as he swung the stick at another rat - which turned out to be a good thing he hadn't, since his little brother was covered in some sort of gross sticky substance.

"So. Doing well?"

Jove smacked the hideous hairless creature again, and turned only briefly to give his brother a frown. He was covered in brain-slime, his left arm was really starting to ache, and he had a mole admirer following him around. Did he look like he was doing well?

When he glanced back at the creature, he mentally ran through several curses. This one was also staring at him. Quite lovingly.

He growled, and they stared, hardly put off by the warning sound.

The Cave of Former Wonders had a beautiful ring to it. It was enough to prompt Merope to push away from the tree he was leaning against and step forward, interested in hearing more. Then came the words "taming stick," and the undead boil was beginning to second-guess himself.

But he stuck with it, more out of curiosity than anything else. If it was the cave of former wonders, then there had to be something in there. Merope glanced towards Jericho and Aymet, considering. If there was any treasure... Yeeeah, no. There was no way a sea serpent could stake a claim with two dragons nearby. And yet... Would Aymet notice? Jericho looked busy. Perhaps he would have a chance after all, providing one of the other students wasn't a hoarder as well.

Merope considered his options as he followed the class down into the cavern, soon forgetting them as his whiskers quivered in anticipation. There was water nearby. How much? Where was it? Could they swim in it?! He picked up the pace, nearly running into the person in front of him in his haste.

But then the cavern opened up. Molerats. It had to be molerats. Nevermind that Merope had never seen one before, but he couldn't help but to glower at them disdainfully as if it was their fault there wasn't any water in the immediate vicinity. And for all he knew, it probably was.

Merope hefted his stick, then lowered it. Doubt began to sink into his consciousness, prompting him to hang back and wait. He watched as the other students set to taming them, some knocking out, others... exploding?

Whelp.

The undead boil raised his stick and advanced, brandishing it towards the first molerat that approached him.

Merope HP: 40/40

Hey, this wasn't too ba-

"Ow!" Merope hissed, shaking his hand as if it was possible to dislodge the pain from it. The molerat continued to advance, prompting Merope to swing again.

Ren smiled winningly at Jove, thwacking yet another molerat on the head with the stick.

It promptly started making googoo eyes at him. Ren rolled his own.

"It was a perfectly sound question to ask right at this moment," he said innocently, flicking his tail at Jove.

Willow sighed as she finally resigned that the first molerat was going to follow her even if she didn't like it Willow moved on to the next problem. There was a molerat charging at her. Willow swung the bat and hit the rat rather hard on the head.

The stick connected with the molerat's side. It was a lucky enough break, however Merope learned that when he moved close the molerat moved closer to him as well. It took another opportunity to bite him, this time harder. Merope hissed yet again, glowering at the molerat.

It... didn't seem to glare as maliciously anymore. Instead, it looked at him like... like...

...Merope turned and avoided looking at the creature, raising his stick as another one approached him.

Merope thought he was being clever by trying to zag instead of zig. But the molerat intercepted and bit him, but not after Merope was able to deliver a hefty THUMP! to its side.

The lost fathoms leviathan stepped back, raising the stick up to deliver a smashing swing against the head of the creature. Unfortunately for him, the head exploded upon impact.

Merope looked down at himself and grimaced at the amount of bits that his front was now covered in. "Ugggh," he whined, fins drooping as he tried to flick bits of gray matter off of him.

He really, really hoped they could swim in the water soon. Please. Look, he'll even thump this next molerat for a chance too!

Another explosion, another splattering of bits and gore all over him. Merope frowned, stiffling the urge to whine. He wasn't a dog. He was a leviathan. He should have gotten angry, should have threatened to sink their boats and smashed them to pieces.

But as it was, Merope used his already gore-covered sleeve to try and wipe his face clean. He ended up smearing even more of the bits onto his face and across his sleeve before the next molerat approached him.

On this molerat, Merope again aimed for the head. Thankfully, this time he managed to miss its broad forehead and bonk it on the nose instead. He received a n** on his hand for the effort, but at least it didn't explode on him.

Yet.

Yet again Merope hit it on the head. He squeezed his single eye shut in preparation for the inevitable explosion, bracing himself for the impact of gore and other splattering that... did not come. He stared as the molerat stared at him and drew back, before stepping forward and oh god there was that look again.

Merope looked around, and raised his stick as another molerat approached him.

TG did not approve of being made to work, especially when he was being degraded as unpaid gnome help and learning to be an exterminator. It wasn't about he was about to buy overalls and talk about elbow grease and if that ever did happen, he would allow these moles to eat him whole willingly to spare him such a fate. It was insulting enough that he was given two bats, but dragging behind the group, watched as the creatures they were humanely trying to get rid of were ones that should have just be destroyed outright. There was no purpose in preserving such a ugly creature. Maybe if Enzo wanted more pets, but TG was finding a strong hatred for any sort of rodent after Enzo already sicked some on him at the Maul.

While he planned to just wait out the class, he was introduced to a mole that saw the pint-sized snack and lunged at him. TG, armed with TWO bats, decided to just hit the thing back. If it died, all the better.

He wasn't so lucky. Not only did he miss, he missed TWICE! The result was that the mole was now founding chewing on it's newest acquired chew toy and making his coat soggy.
