You can probably axe the Ally, as long as you keep the social position. For the purpose you are intending for Ally, that would be something any of the other players would get. Basically, the daimyo giving them special treatment. It shouldn't necessarily apply to family, IMHO. At least, not immediate; Ally would make more sense for, say, a relative of your father's, in the Seppun.


Umm... where are the extra 4 points in traits coming from?

Reflex 3 = 12
Void 3 = 18
So traits should total 30.

And I know I had the right skill, silly. Those (??) mean I have no idea what trait it's associated with. sweatdrop

Oh! Well in that case I really don't mind if I do~ Maybe I'll spend the extra points in cooking, apparently. xd

Because I shouldn't be auditing ANYTHING when I first wake up in the morning. I calculated it as Reflex 4, not Reflex 3 sweatdrop

You're fine. Likewise, you can still swap out Ally for 6 other points, unless you want to have the daimyo of a minor clan have a lot of connections and pull outside of Megumi Tenpi.

Sensation (3 pts) - Following in her grandfather's footsteps, Kaichiyo has always been skilled at enrapturing a crowd under any circumstances. Whenever she would use a Perform skill she does not possess, she is considered to have 1 rank in it.

Social Position (6 pts) - Being the daughter of a clan champion is no small matter. She gains +1 Status Rank.

Voice (3 pts) - Part of her crowd-enrapturing talents is by far her voice, pleasing in virtually every respect. She gains +1k1 on any Perform skill roll that utilizes her voice.


DISADVANTAGES
Bad Fortune: Unknown Enemy (3 pts) - Someone somewhere in another clan hates her and wishes to see her dead. She has no idea who or why.

Compulsion: Performance (2 pts) - In stressful situations, such as combat, sailing in a storm, or a direct social confrontation, Kaichiyo is hopelessly compelled to Perform, even if it might be seen as inappropriate, distracting, or disrespectful; making light of the situation to cope with the stress. She must make a Willpower roll of TN15 to overcome this compulsion.

Idealistic (2 pts) - She adheres closely to the code of Bushido and has a hopelessly naïve view of the world and how it works. Her standards are impossible for many heroes to meet, much less herself, and thus when she loses honor the loss is increased by 1 point due to her own self-loathing.

Overconfident (3 pts) - She possesses a grossly inflated view of her own prowess, and is often incapable of recognizing when a situation is beyond her ability to handle. When outnumbered or facing a clearly superior enemy she must succeed at a Perception TN20 roll in order to recognize the situation for what it is and leave instead of engaging.

DESCRIPTION
Decorated pale and fair by her Kitsuki and Seppun origins, and turned tan from days of hard work and hard outdoor leisure, Kaichiyo is a comely samurai. Pretty, but not particularly beautiful; fit, but not particularly athletic. Aside from the charismatic flow of Air around her, her physical traits can be considered, by and large, "normal". She stands an average 5'4" and sports a sharp pair of dark brown eyes coupled by equally dark hair. What truly makes her stand out, however, is her mind. A golden voice, silver tongue, and bronze will, all forged with wit as sharp as steel. The young Himura heiress is not ashamed in the least to call herself a Bard, and is wholly eager to continue learning the trade. She loves an enraptured audience above all else, but isn't afraid to get her hands dirty - especially to help the clan. A definite type A personality, but tempered by the wisdom of her grandfather's memory and the self-imposed code of perfection that has come to mean for her. Despite what others may say, however, she has never truly felt the weight of her mother's shadow.

As previously mentioned, I'm kind of a crackhead when it comes to doing things with precision either too early or too late in the day.

That said, yes, 2 points for emphases, but that still puts you 11 points over, and Temptation too high.

You actually can't have Stealth as a school skill. Yours are Calligraphy, Courtier (Gossip), Etiquette, Investigation, Sincerity (Deceit), Temptation, and any one High skill. Stealth is a Low skill.

You could easily swap Lore: Bushido with Stealth though when it comes to that. Doesn't even affect your total CP spent.

Lore: Bushido wouldn't mean Bushido is an emphasis. "Lore: Bushido" is a skill in the way that "Etiquette" or "Stealth" are skills. Knowledge in Lore: Bushido doesn't grant you knowledge in ALL knowledge skills. Lore: Bushido is completely independent of, say, Lore: Ghosts, or Lore: Folklore, or Lore: Puppies. An emphasis for Bushido would be, say, [Dragon Clan] (making you more familiar with gauging a Dragon samurai than other clans), or [Fiction] (being able to gauge a character in a story), or [Nonhuman] (getting a better feel of a kenku or kappa or nezumi's sense of honor, as bizarre as that may be to our own interpretation). That kind of stuff.

Okay, I did some prep work. MOST of it is done, I just need to iron out the timeline, and then throw in some NPCs. A couple to start, then more later (as they get introduced).

If you guys want to throw out some Himura NPCs (the more not related to you, the better), feel free. You aren't obliged to, and I may not use them all. They can be friends or acquaintances of your character, of the other players' characters, or be kind of mysterious and lonery. You can develop family too if you would like.

You don't need to stat them out, just tell me about them. Just to pass the time. Once more, this is completely optional, and meant to be more fun than work for you.

I won't be around tomorrow night, planning to be here Wedneday night, then won't be here Thursday, so my schedule will remain spotty.

Himura Kagura: Kraken clan weapons instructor. Age: 50 Kagura was born in the Tortoise clan and was asked to join the Kraken clan by her daimyo as something of a favor. It was suspected that the nascent Krakens were very ill prepared to live a marine life. Rather than risk the Clan falling immediately under the sway of the Mantis, several "experts" were sent to help aid the Krakens in establishing themselves as a viable minor clan.

Kagura trains young Kraken in all the weapons that "prissy fop" (Himura Miroku) won't touch and in things like swimming and sailing as well. Kagura is a rather stern instructor who gives few words of praise to her students. In her free time, Kagura skrimshaws pieces of driftwood that she finds on the beach

DESCRIPTION
Heavily scarred and intense. Prominently, a long scar stretching from his right ear to his chin, just below his lip and a scar across the base of his neck that he covers with his clothes.


BACKGROUND
Shi was born Himura, Hiro. Not of the same Himura clan that he runs with now, but a different branch that is also within the Dragon Clan. Meaning that Shi is not descended from the Hero that founded their clan. It wouldn't matter anyways because he gave up that name, along with everything else when he became a monk. He began his training late, at age 9 after his father passed on. He graduated and went to Megumi Tempi, because he had heard that his family had gone there and he had hadn't completely forgotten. them.
The Kami rewarded his weakness with the discovery that his family had died in a house fire trying to cook some Fugu. Now he has been driven back on course by this lesson and has taken it as a lesson to steer the Himura towards enlightenment.

NPCs!

Himura Natsuki - A former Soshi Magistrate, this sharp-eyed, rotund artisan could not resist the call of Megumi Tenpi once the rumors of the Rokugan-famous fugu began to grow. Anxious to ply her trade upon a worthy project, Natsuki soon became the Kraken's best chef, and personally served the late Emperor on several occasions. Bold, quick-witted, and forceful, her personality is as spicy as her signature dishes.

Minato - While only a heimin, this salty sailor has earned himself a place of honor among the Kraken for his excellent shipwright craftsmanship as well as his "way" with the Akkorokamui that give the clan their name.
