Yesterday's date with Leon had been fun, but it was back to business once again in Pezzle's for Cassie. Thanks to the sports car owned by the male, she wouldn't have to worry too much about calling a cab, and that still somehow gave her the idea that she might own a electric scooter one day. However, now would not be the time for such planning, as she still still had yet to own a license. That would require studying the traffic rules plus learning how to maneuver a scooter herself, and more importantly, passing the test. Not to mention that the license had to be renewed every few years. The ice huntress was still contemplating on whether to go with the option for a personal mode of transportation, but she was still not a hundred percent sure.
For now, though, she was back in the store, the classical flute music playing through her media player connected to a set of speakers. Because of the weather outside, it had been mostly empty. No customers yet even until now. She was just done cleaning the place and was rewarding herself through contemplating on what she would like to wear next for another meeting with Leon. Hence, she was currently sitting down near the counter, her smartphone in hand, scrolling through the list of outfits for the perfect ensemble this summer season.

A little bit of drizzle wasn't going to stop Rina from going out today! She was still riding the good mood of goofing off with Seth the other day and wanted to check out a store that they walked by that her caught her eye. She doesn't remember there being a potions store here! To be quite honest, she doesn't remember what was here before but it wasn't anything magical! She was slightly nervous about the store since anything mysteriously magical reminded her of Halloween, but she shook off those jitters and entered anyway.
Tentatively, entering the store, the lines of glass bottles filled with strange liquids immediately caught her eye, going up to them almost instantly. These are actual potions? Do they really work? She noticed a bottle that said "Antidote" to the side, so they must work! But if they really did, wouldn't people be flooding this place? Well, with prices $100 and up, she could sort of understand why this place wasn't all that packed. She spotted a bottle with the label, "Drink Me", on it and as tempting as it seemed, she wasn't going to buy it. It'd be so weird to be taller! She's used to this height and it's only nice being tall when Seth is carrying her! Some of the potions seemed really cool, though... Maybe she should get one! She stared at the shelves of potions, deep in thought, wondering about which one would be best to buy.

There was one summer dress that caught her attention, and she definitely wanted to buy that soon. Hopefully, it may be available in the clothing store situated within the city, and she would go there some other time. Plus, there were the strapped sandals with flat heels, complimenting well with the dress. That's it! That was what she would purchase alongside the dress! A smile crossed her face at the thought of wearing that, possibly on another future date with Leon. But further daydreaming had to cease, more so when Cassandra noticed a female browsing through the potions available in stock by the time she was done scrolling, putting down the phone.
Dark brown hair, tanned skin, hazel brown eyes. A sun-kissed beauty, possibly from the island or even from the desert, but still retaining the youthful look. Quite charming, and whoever would like to court that lady should watch out for the competition. That is, if there would be any. Cheerfully, she greeted the newcomer, "Good morning, mademoiselle. Any potion that tickles your fancy today? There's a lot to choose from."

Rina was still eyeing that "Drink Me" potion when she was slightly surprised by a woman with snow white hair and blue eyes. Was she an employee? Well, there'd have to be someone working here for her to pay! "Oh, hello! Well... I'm thinking about a few!" Not really, she'd buy one at the most since they were so expensive but she definitely wanted to get something. Her eyes were still scanning the shelves of potions when she noticed what looked to be a gender-bender potion and immediately wondered what that would be like. Rina blushed quickly and shook her head, that'd be so weird! Ahh!
"S-So, do these potions actually work? It's just hard to imagine it, personally." She took down an animal potion, looking very interested in this one. During Halloween, the good part of it, she thought Seth's wolf ears were so cute! It'd be so nice to see him with ears again! And if he doesn't want to, she could always just use it on herself to do something fun with it! But it's so expensive! Then again, she doesn't really buy all that much extra stuff, so maybe she should just spoil herself and get something a little different! And it sounds like the perfect way to tease or goof around with her dragon and that sounds like fun! She rubbed her promise ring absentmindedly as she thought about her lover and adding up how much getting a few potions would be, now that she's changed her mind some.

The poor lady was definitely feeling flustered, uncertain at first. But ultimately, the inquiry on whether the potions work or not was known to be a way to resume the conversation. Cassandra propped her own hand against her cheek. "Hmmm... They do work as long as you follow the instructions, but there are several accounts in which the outcome may not be what you expect. A few cases in which the 'Be Mine' potion can be ingested through being spiked in another drink instead of just straight from the bottle, but someone else ended up getting the drink instead of the intended target, leading to awkward consequences. At least that was based from past customer reviews." In fact, Cassie had chanced upon an old notebook containing such notes. She was unsure who had left that there inside the drawer, but it wouldn't matter much anyway.
"But in case you want something fun with less on the... setbacks, it's best that you try out the underwater potion. The Breath of Bubbles," she pointed to the bottles with the clear blue liquid, just like the sea. "I had tried that before with a friend of mine the other day, and it is a good feeling. Though the underwater breathing is temporary, up to six hours. Consider that as a starting point." Cassandra then straightened her posture, crossing one leg over the other. "Anyway, mademoiselle, what's your name? You are definitely a beauty from the exotic lands." Indeed, there went with the ice huntress complimenting on the looks.

Rina was surprised at the woman when she told her about the problems other people had with the 'Be Mine' potion, that's awful to do that to someone! Some sort of law has to be broken when you do that to somebody! However, her attention was more focused on the 'A Tail, An Eye, A Wing, Or A Leg?' that she wanted to buy, thinking of all the animal parts she could do. She could do bunny or cat ears! The puppies might bark and bite at her if she did that, though... Breathing underwater sounds fun, too! Her eyes lit up at the possibility of having an underwater adventure, considering that it's summer and she's bound to head to the beach again soon. Maybe, she should get one for Seth, too? An underwater date! Rina picked up two of the blue potions, and along with the two animal ones she had, she could already feel the money leaving her pocket. Ah, well, she's allowed to splurge sometimes!
"Huh?" Rina was a little off-put by the sudden comment the employee made, why was she suddenly complimenting her? "I'm not really from any exotic land..." Her cheeks turned a soft shade of red at her words, not used to getting compliments from random people. Her thumb rolled against her ring, fiddling with it a little nervously. "I-I'm just from here in the States is all. My name's Rina." It was mostly true! She was born in the demon realm but she's lived in Oregon for most of her life! "Umm, what's your name?" If the other woman wants to have a conversation, she might as well give it a shot!

At the correction from the blushing tanned female, whom Cassie now recognized as Rina, the ice huntress chortled softly. "Oh... silly me. But nonetheless, Rina is such a good name. Call me Cassandra, or Cassie, for short." After the introduction, the sales associate was looking up at what Rina was planning to purchase so far. Two of the underwater potions, plus two bottles of the potion responsible for changing into animal parts. That would be a good bargain, though her eyes were also cast on the ring on Rina's finger. She was tempted to question about how she had obtained that, but chose not to. Her phone suddenly beeped and she picked it up, having to check to see who was texting her. Her eyes were alight when Leon was the sender, and almost right away, she replied.
"I'll be free again tomorrow. Though the weather's definitely rainy. We'll plan something up later."
After the text was sent, the phone was put down, and Cassie questioned Rina about the purchases. "So two of these and two of the animal transformation potion... Who will be the other imbiber of those concoctions?" As long as the motive wouldn't be too shady, then it would be all good. The last thing that she wanted was an incident involving a prank in which lion and tiger heads would be used to scare the heck out of unsuspecting people, which resulted in the perpetrators being thrown to the slammer. At least, that was based on one newspaper clipping that was taped to the page of the old notebook.

"Thank you! I-It's nice to meet you, Cassandra." Rina said, feeling very stuttery since the woman continued to compliment her. Even though it was only little things, it still made her embarrassed! It so weird to get the simplest of flattering remarks from someone else! Maybe that means she needs to get out more... Probably, since she's considering staying at home more often! Her thoughts were all wrapped up in her mind about how she's becoming more introverted nowadays until Cassandra began to ring her up.
Imbiber? That certainly sounds like a fancy word she's never heard of! "Oh, well, hopefully, my boyfriend. I just thought the idea of having an underwater date would be cute." She scratched her cheek a little nervously, it definitely was a little bit of an impulse buy considering that he might not want to use these! Well, if that happens, she can just use them twice! Now she's a little excited to try them out! She needs to make sure she has time to use them first, though! She can't walk into work with animal parts on her!

Happy to know that Rina was willing to listen to her ideas, she accepted the card as the payment, having to settle the payment through the machine and then giving the other the receipt together with the card. "Well, have you seen the underwater caves? It was definitely picturesque especially with the crystals. I suggest you go check that out," she spoke, smiling as she remembered the moment she shared with Leon. "Plus, better bring your waterproof camera if you wanna take pictures of the sea below. Some of the fish there were cute, though you may see the ruins of some sea vehicles as makeshift corals. Just watch out for the sharp edges if you wanna say safe."
That was all she had advised before the transaction was completed and Rina was free to head out with her purchase. Once she was all alone, she sat back down on the chair close to the counter and smiled. Once this was all over, she could finally head home and plan more for the upcoming date, the clothes shopping included as part of the formula for a good time.

It was the dawn of his third week working here, and by now he had gotten the hang of the job. It had been rough at first, given how new technology was, plus his little...inadequacy, but he had managed to surmount all of this and proven himself to be a dedicated employee. Every now and then he would have problems with the customer relations part, but when it came to normal ringing up and stuff, he could be civil enough. Even better, they had allowed him to sell his own remedies here, and he got to keep forty percent of the profit! That may or may not have been a fair deal, but it was money in his pocket either way, which meant food upon the table. He arrived about five minutes before he was supposed to, as usual, and began tidying things up and preparing for customers.

The place was mostly silent by the time the sales associate showed up for work, but Cassie wouldn't mind considering that the multiple bottles of concoctions were her company. Except that this time, it would be something different. There was the fuzzy sensation in her head, like being stuck in a thick cloud obscuring bits and pieces of her memory, lost in the fog. Cassie was definitely surprised when she felt it, more so when there was the table with multiple ingredients as well as four cauldrons, each possessing an eerie glow alongside the wispy white smoke that jutted out from the inside. They were a sign that something interesting was about to occur, but what exactly?
It was then that she noticed a bottle close to her desk; Cassie inspected the bottle, the content bearing the color of liquid gold, as if it was reserved for her and her alone. "Maybe I should drink this...?" she mumbled to herself, but nonetheless, she picked up the bottle, pulling off the cork before drinking the contents. The taste was sour, akin to lemon juice that was unrefined, but not completely unpleasant, inducing a puckering expression from the ice huntress herself. "That's definitely not lemonade..."
But the upside was that the fog in her head was cleared up, like water washing away the dirt, and an idea sparked up in her head like a lit bulb when her gaze reconnected to the ingredients and cauldrons. It would mean one thing: that was the main essence of the event today, the unsuspecting visitors attempting at potion making, with lots of interesting results. A smile crept up her face at the thought as she slipped the bottle into her bag; it was made out of glass and it may be reused for something else, though the contents must be washed off first until there would be no evidence left behind. Cassie then sat down on her desk, bag stashed underneath her feet, and laced her hands underneath her own chin.
"Very well... Let the fun times begin."
One thing was for sure, the manager surely was brilliant in coming up with that idea.
