Marcus rolls to his side to push himself up again. as he does, he flips his hair out of his face again and turns to spoke Avari taking to the air again. As the smaller man lands on his shoulders and twists to drop him for the hurricarana, Marcus attempts to plant his wait and grab him around the waist, then attempts to hoist him back onto his shoulders for a delayed powerbomb

Avari goes flying through the air, ready to land on the shoulders of Marcus and then twist in to the hurricanrana. What he didn't expect was to be caught mid-move!
Time almost slowed down as he was held firm by Marcus, right before being driven hard down to the mat with a devastating powerbomb!

Marcus barely pulled that off, if he's honest with himself. After all that leg damage, he wasn't entirely sure he would. He drops to the mat beside Avari and throws an arm over him to cover him for a pin

The ref dropped down for the pinfall, with Avari's eyes glazed over as he stares at the lights ahead, trying to catch his wandering mind for a moment.

Th-
Caught moments before the three count, the crowd let out a cheer as the bout continued!

Marcus rolls onto his back after the narrow kickout, exhaustion evident on his face. Just how much more did he have to throw at the Fusion son to keep him down?
Marcus pushes himself to his feet again and reaches down to pull Avari up by the hair. Assuming he does, he would keep it simple as he'd simply throw a straight right at his temple

Avari goes to turn towards Marcus, perhaps another move up his sleeve. But his hair is quickly grabbed and he feels a hard shot to the temple.
The world seemed to go blurry for a second as his vision and hearing went a little impaired, before returning momentarily.

Marcus decides to once again look to put the match away, as he'd attempt to lift Avari up and turn him to go for his newest finisher, the Ribcracker

Avari soon finds himself lifted in the air and flipped, and has to act quickly. He tries to twist his body around and hook the head of Marcus on his way up, looking to plant him in to a DDT!

Marcus was honestly expecting this to be the end here. Imagine his surprise when instead, his head is rushing for the mat and he's spiked with a DDT counter, once again leaving him lying on the mat looking up at the lights

The crowd continued their cheer as both men were sent to the mat, laid out as the ref checks over them. He waits a moment then begins a ten count.

Marcus remains lying on the mat, the only sign of life and consciousness being the rise and fall of his chest from heavier breathing at this point. Meanwhile the ten count continues

The chants from the crowd continue as both men stir on the mat, Avari looking side to side for a moment. That hard shot to the temple really got him.
"This is awesome!" rings out again from around SoFi Stadium.

The count continues, and Marcus knows he has to get up.

Like father, like son again, as Marcus suddenly sits up, his eyes refocused, and begins to make his way back to his feet

Avari pulls in his strength as the count turns eight, bringing in his back muscles as he kips up to his feet. The crowd cheer and he expects it's for him, but he turns to see Marcus sit up at the same time.
Fusion can't help but nod in respect and moves back a little, pacing and ready for the next exchange.

Marcus is on his feet again now and out of instinct his fists go up. It's time to fight on and he essentially signals as much to Avari. At this point they have to be on their tenth wind, but the match is still on
