The pac-ghosts were no where to be found in the house, nor were any other of the more pleasant spirits that usually haunted it's arcade. For some reason they seemed to be dormant or supressed.

Most of the weaponry Rosemary had was Gaian, since that was the easiest for her to get her hands on. She was, however, fortunate enough to get a special assault rifle from Bithmar the weapons dealer in Limbo before this entire mess happened. It hadn't been quite legal for him to sell it to her, but he made an exception that he would allow the obviously needed purchase if she told no one. A "RE Pierce Assault" he called it. It is a strong firearm, shooting small piercing rounds that are charged with a chaotic energy that nothing could absorb. The charge on the rounds are so potent that with enough shots, partial or even full paralysis could result, as well as massive tissue damage.*

This particular gun that Rosemary was loading magazines for even had a special attachment scope that not only offered a zoomed view, but allowed for night and heat vision... the heat vision in particular would come in handy

The last of the land mines and barbed wire had just been placed when everyone noticed an uneasy silence in the air... not a sound from even the smallest insect could be heard. Then, there was a strangled scream. The plants rustled, and what looked like a man hobbled out, howling and shrieking.... he was wounded and bleeding from every place possible. Before they could determine if he were alive or not, the 'man' suddenly broke out into demonic speed, roaring inhumanly, blindly rushing at the death ward barrier before anyone could squeeze off a shot. The instant he came into contact with it, beams of red magical energy shot into him, lifting him up into the air and making him glow, before splattering him into a bloody mess all over the ground. The vampires with their superior eyesight could see strange little maggots squirming on the ground from his remains, squealing as they died.

Suddenly, more screams filled the air, and a onslaught of mangled looking, almost zombified humans. They literally threw themselves against the barriers, creating a disgusting visually scene of gore and blood splattering everywhere, maggots squirming and curling up to die amongst the the ruin.

All the while during this chaos, the earth on the sides and behind the house began to shift, and then finally burst open... dozens of scythe goblins pouring out, snarling and growling. As they streamed out, they pressed themselves against the walls of the house, not acting as stupid as they apparently should. Several of them began to cut each other, spraying their toxic, foul blood against the walls. Deep beneath the earth, Ruin had worked his magic and made a hole in Cian's darth ward barrier just enough to let the goblins dig through... he still couldn't do anything about the voiding magic barrier though.

Back with the strange zombies, a new creature began to run with them, into the barrier... Several black hunters strangely began to suicide themselves, screaming loud swears and curses into the heads of the house's occupants.

And while the black hunters and kamikaze zombies providing this distraction, the abyss demon appeared from the back, several hunters in front of him acting like a bullet proof shield. Snarling, the demon threw chunks of burning wood at the wounded and bleeding groups of scythe goblins pressing themselves up against the house...

Daphne held a gun and stood on top of the house. As she stared at the chunks of burning wood with her eyes wide, she muttered, "Rosemary is going to throw a fit." She heard Cian chuckle darkly. She looked at him and saw his hands raised--yet again. His telekinesis was really coming in handy.

Cian raised his arms and became alert, his eyes closed. His eyeballs were moving underneath his lids as if a projector was playing on the inside. Like he could see it all. As a wood piece was about to hit on of the Goblins, it stopped, and zoomed backward. The sky looked as if it were going back in time. What once was raining down flaming down wood, was now reversed. Cian held his head, concentrating. Daph put a hand on his arm, a little worried.

Daphne paused in her worry long enough to wonder why. Why was she concerned? Cian confused her. Everything about him. His presence, his actions, the way he made her feel. Everything! Daph shook her head, she needed to focus on the matter as hand.

Unfortuneatly...BOOM! He didn't catch them all. The house shuttered as a few of the goblins exploded. It was not all, but a few and quickly, Cian shot them off the house so they would not start a domino affect.

The actions of the hunters worried Rosemary somewhat. Usually they weren't used for such tactics. She was under the impression, from several mage invasions of the past, that hunters were valuable soldiers not to be wasted like pawns. Of course they somewhat blocked her ability to tell what the enemy was thinking.

"Cian it unnerves me how those Black Hunters are being used. It is unusual for Black Hunters to be used as sacrifices. I thought that they were usually considered a more valuable resource."

"Daphne try to focus your hearing on the ground and see if you can hear something else other than goblins under it." Rosemary hoped that Daphne had superb hearing like she did...she still wasn't sure what those two could do...considering at least one of them could eat human food and she couldn't.

She moved her attention to the annoying scythe goblins, abyss, and such. Of whom she was sure were only mere distractions, but at the same time needed to be taken care of.

She shot at the black hunters and the abyss throwing the wood. While she did this to try to distract them, she sent a mighty wind forth to blow away the rest of the goblins on her house...towards the group of demons and shot at one of the scythe goblins before it would hit the barrier to try to have a grand ol' firework display.

Seeing as how the fire plan had failed, the black hunters stopped sacraficing themselves so easily against the barrier... instead, they now started circling around it, mentally throwing screams and insults at everyone, and trying to throw them off guard with disturbing visions and sounds.

Shooting at the abyss didn't score a hit, but it did prove distracting enough, and she was able to get several shots into the arm skin of one of the black hunters, watching as the demon hissed, holding it's suddenly limp appendage. The goblins Rosemary shot at burst into flame and exploded violently, the chain reaction lighting up the sky and sending burning goblin debris flying in every direction. The demons stumbled back to avoid claw and bone shards, some of which bounced off the hunters' armor. Angered, the abyss opened it's mouth impossibly wide and shot a black orb at Rosemary at impossible speeds. The thing splattered on the roof near her, sending strange worms that had somehow been shielded from the death barrier by the black slime the orb had been consisted of.... these worms would crawl deep into her skin and start draining her strength away if they got close enough.

Just as Daphne began to listen in on the ground, the floor broke apart in several places, and a small number of scythe goblins poured in. The snarling, drooling beasts immediately went after Cian and Daphne, biting, clawing, and spitting their toxins at the two. Galantros tried to help by using a handgun Rosemary had given him earlier, trying to keep his distance to avoid direct fighting. Seconds after the goblins had tore out of the floor, something in one of the dug out tunnels threw a sphere like object into the house. It bounced against one of the walls with a dull metallic click. Nobody noticed it at first, and when they did, Galantros was the only one who did... sadly, just too late.

Galantros: "GRENADE!"

The reaper tried to run at the explosive with the intent of throwing it out the window, but it went off just as he was over it. The blast would have killed him, if not for the fiery heat barely giving him enough energy to survive off of, knocking him against some furinture... out cold. The resulting explosion literally tore out one of THoR's outer walls, and set a pair of goblins on fire. The two goblins suddenly paused, then turned towards Cian in one fluid and again uncharastically intelligent motion, and lept at him... They would explode at any moment.

Daphne and Cian stared at the two Goblins that stared at them.
"s**t." Cian muttered. He had to act quickly. He took the gun that Rosemary lent him earlier and shot, pushing telekinetic force with the bullet to push the two of them away and the goblins in another direction. It would not kill the beast, but it would buy Cian and Daphne time to get away. Cian was about to shoot the other, but Daphne was ahead of him. She took aim and shot...it wasn't quite on the mark as Cian's was. Cian smiled and shook his head, "I need to teach you how to shoot." He replied, grabbing her hand.

Rosemary was glad that the familiar looking spell didn't hit her, but then it did something that was totally unfamiliar: it splattered. She jumped away from it and it looked strange...The hunters made her head hurt since they were purposely making themselves near impossible to ignore... she hated having so many of them around at once...why were they able to summon so many in a short amount of time. Didn't they only start this a few hours ago? It should take longer for them to do this if they come with nothing but themselves...it has in the past.

She heard GL yell grenade and then felt the house shake as the bomb exploded and made a new window and made a noise like thunder in her ears. Some of the worms were thrown into the air from the impact, but Rosemary didn't notice this because didn't Galantros' voice come from right where that thing went off?

She went through the roof. Down, down, until she came up to the remains of that area. When she found him she was glad to see him not dead even though he was pretty banged up. She moved to him and went through the pockets of his tattered clothes and pulled out a crystal. She took it out and smashed it.

"Time to get out of here! Come." She put GL through the portal and waited for the rest to go through...After they went in she was backing up to it, but noticed someone, maybe Ruin, popping his head through the ground and trying to see where that portal on the floor lead to. Not wanting to risk him seeing where she sent them, the portal snapped shut before he could get a good look and she attacked the mage with one of her weapons and forced him to go down again.

When he came back up she had vanished elsewhere and started to feel tired. She was actually sitting on one of the steps, in a place that wouldn't seem to be hard to sneak up on her save for going through stuff and risk killing her, and shot at him again. This time after shooting at hem she, tried to throw and aim a regular gaia grenade into the damn hole. She hadn't fully recovered from the last mage who had her pinned and those weird bugs were getting to her...now she really was a walking corpse.

Her heart sank at the thought of what may happen in a few moments... with Cian gone, the thing preventing him from casting spells may go down. The other barrier should hold, but she wasn't sure if that no-spell taboo would stay. She didn't have any of those teleporting crystals on her and her efforts to teleport away weren't working.

She got up and moved to the kennels and lured new critters there. As they swarmed around her, she pushed a button and vanished into thin air and was sent tumbling even in her air form from the explosion. Near the end of her rolling, she couldn't seem to hold that form anymore and reappeared on the ground obviously satisfied with the what she did. If they didn't kill her for that maybe...just maybe... but she didn't think it would happen.

The dead goblins tumbled outside the large hole in the side of the house, spilling blood that quickly caught flame until they exploded violently, flinging bone shrapnel and claw chunks at Daphne and Cian in thousands of chunks.

As Rosemary ushered everyone else through the portal in a hurry, Ruin popped his head out of the ground, trying to badly aim his weapon at Rosemary's head just as she convinced Cian and Daphne to go through. A burst of rifle fire from Rosemary made Ruin take cover, the rounds pelting the ground around him, and leaving him with a nasty jolt in his shoulder. The nanite armor sit he wore neutralized the damage, but it was beginning to wear thin from the excessive attacks.

Ruin snarled, annoyed that his magic was nulled. Decided that this time he wouldn't fall back into the hole even with the gunfire trying to surpress him, he rushed out. The rifle rounds battered his already damaged nanite suit, and then a grenade rattled towards him. Ruin smacked the explosive into the hole with the butt of his own rifle, and dove behind some wrecked furniture, the resulting explosion sending dirt and a plume of fire and burning goblin guts flying out of the hole.

As Rosemary ran for the kennels, Ruin awkardly opened fire from where he lay on the ground.

Ruin: "You've been putting up quite a fight, vampire! You shall have the honor of knowing who you are dealing with! I am Ruin, and my brothers are Bane and Torment. Your soul is strong... it shall provide great energy for us once we capture you!"

As more goblins and even a few black hunters emerged from the holes that were dug earlier, Ruin kept up his poor fire to keep Rosemary occupied. Once enough of the demons had swarmed around the kennels and she set off her explosive trap, Ruin swore. Just as Rosemary reappeared on the ground, a muffled but loud shot rang out... the sound was familar she realized, the same sound the gun that Pok had used made. The deadly large bullet zipped by, just barely grazing her side, and digging into the earth. The bullet clicked for a moment, then little metal squares all over it's surface shot out several inches from the round, attached by metal arms. The round then exploded, sending metal fragments flying everywhere. Looking in the direction the bullet came from, she saw the abyss demon with the deadly sniper rifle in his claws, trying to line up another shot.

Ruin: "These pitiful barriers will fall to the superior magics of my brothers soon, child. Surrender, and save yourself sometime."

Finding themselves in the chamber, Cian and Daphne found that nearly half their group was out of it. Sephiroth was still out of it, and Galantros had just been badly wounded and knocked out cold by a grenade blast. Black was the only one with them that hadn't been injured.

You have a gun. Use it.
The reaper is suffering. Place it against his head, put him out of his misery.

The voices of hell spirits were back in Daphne's head again, and trying to tell her to do awful things. Though it was curious that they seemed to lack the strength to simply force her to do things like they were able to earlier.

The reaper has portal charms in his pocket. Kill the others, then leave this place.
Kill Cian, he'll be trying to control you any second now
No! Don't do it! Don't listen to them, Daphne!
We're able to help you fight them now. They won't get control of you so easily now.

The two new voices were very familar, almost high pitched and cute, although serious in tone. Daphne could have sworn she heard them just not too long ago before hell had broken loose. In fact, something similar was happening in Black's head

That reaper couldn't protect you Black, he was weak.
The weak don't deserve to live, slit his throat
No Black, don't listen. We're here! We're here for you!
Yeah! We're not gonna let no stinky spirits eat our cookies...
Inky... this is serious.
Sorry, I mean, we'll help you!

Rosemary rolled away from the round and protected her head with her arms. Her wings moved into a protective position as well to try to cover key spots on her. Luckily most of what came up had to go through the ground first before it hit her.

When she saw where it came from she quickly took out her rifle and aimed it at the demon. That thing was a major thorn in her side and literally gave her the squirms. Darn worms. More annoying than most demons that she encountered. The mages of course were always like stakes...darn stakes.... steaks... it smelled so much like blood it was intoxicating.

She ignored Ruin's pitiful hits on her and fired at the abyss until her weapon clicked. She tried to get up and growled as she remembered the anti-magic barrier. She rose much like a puppet pulled on a string with a menacing beam.

She was so used to trying to stay away from a mage and their touch spells, that she forgot that she probably could have gotten close to this one and tore him apart... for once. She picked up a chunk of Black Hunter remains and used it as a shield of sorts against the bullets... ah fresh blood she licked it.

Using the gun as a sort of bat or club, she plowed through whatever was stupid enough to try to come from under the earth and oppose her. As she got closer she vanished from his sight. The vampire was using all her hunting tricks on him at this point. Pitty he was a reaper type creature with no heartbeat. Ruin probably sensed he was in trouble and tried to make it back to one of the holes.

"You don't have any magic" a voice said to him from everywhere and the holes closed. Rosemary reappeared with her hand on his gun and smacked him in the head with the butt of it. Her nails were extended and she quickly moved the other hand to decapitate him.

----

BlackMN giggled slightly in spite of herself at Inky's comment. She cuddled into GL to try to help keep him warm. I'm sorry. I didn't even think to ask you for help. I must have did something awful to him because he still acted hurt when I saw him again...

She looked at the way into the caverns. "Why isn't she here yet?" She got up and moved towards one of the obstacles leading out and was ready to leave to go fetch Rosemary if she could. If the ghosts were helping maybe she could stay in control and help Rosemary get out...

Rosemary's stream of gunfire echoed loudly, and hit the target on the abyss sniper. The demon roared in pain as he fell out of the sky, bleeding from his face and chest.

Ruin for his part was trying to back away towards one of the dug up holes, firing at Rosemary, swearing at her improvised shield. He grabbed a grenade when she started to close in, but she vanished.

Ruin started to idly mutter words to spells, despite the fact he couldn't cast any. This was something Rosemary realized she would rarely get to taste from a Niearcim... fear. There was very little, but it was there, the little creeps of doubt entering his mind.

"You don't have any magic."

Ruin wasn't able to react quickly enough when she reappeared right in front of him, grabbing the gun before he could pull the trigger. There was a loud crack as the butt of the weapon smacked into his skull. He just barely grabbed her hand to struggle with her, delaying her killing move.

Ruin: "You may kill me... but you have my brothers to contend with still!"

The mage then quickly embraced her tightly, stabbing her with a hidden dagger coated with various toxins as her hand took off his head. His death grip wouldn't release as his body convulsed, spraying blood onto the ground. Suddenly, his flesh began to boil and wisps of energy began to appear out of thin air and shoot towards his body. Whatever action Rosemary took to get away from Ruin's body, she did it quickly as it was lifted into the air, glowing with a familiar dark purple mist. Twitching wildly, it zipped and collided with the death barrier, many bands of red energy streaking towards the shaking form. The results were both explosives and gory. Suddenly, the "bubble" that made up the death ward and magical void lit up in red and purple lights, then shattered into glittering sparkles... both barriers had been destroyed, probably due to a nasty combination of the two other niearcim mages working against them and Ruin's standard "death spell" absorbing their energies.

Just as Rosemary was collecting herself from this sudden change of situation, another shot rang out. She felt a heavy impact against her leg, and when she looked down, she saw a large bullet from that damnable sniper rifle barely sticking in her lower leg, the round having made a large meaty hole pretty much all the way through. Just as it expanded, jabbing into her flesh, she brought up her black hunter meat shield to protect her vitals, the round exploding into hundreds of metal shards and shredding her leg into a mixture of red mist, ragged meat, and bone fragments.

This sudden nasty injury, along with the strange toxins now coursing themselves through her body, and the grotesque worm creatures under her skin sapping her strange left her disabled and open. Black hunters began to surge forward, upsetting land mines. Seeing that the ground wasn't safe, Bane and Torment, the demonic creature mage and tendril mage respectively, decided to talk alternate routes. Bane took the underground paths, while Torment took to the air, his tendrils shooting towards Rosemary's arms, wrapping around them.

- - - - - -

Far off elsewhere in the forests between THoR and Barton town, a small portal managed to force it's way open. Jacob Merak and several elite soldiers managed to emerge before the portal shut due to the transportation barrier the mages had placed. Jacob was looking extremely stressed, and was rubbing his leg, feeling horrible ghost pains from the injuries Rosemary had been taking, along with not feeling well due to Veni's current situation.

Jacob: "We should hurry, there's no telling what sort of hell has been unleashed agai..."

The ground literally exploded beneath the group, with the force of a volcano... it was enough to literally send the soldiers and Jacob flying through the air in scattered directions miles apart. Something snatched Jacob's leg out of the air though. Before the necromancer could determine who or what it was, a heavy blunt force was applied to the back of his head.

Heegh simply chuckled under his breath, giving the incapacitated necromancer another vicious blow to the back of his head to make sure he was truly out cold. Applying a small black maggot creature the back of Jacob's neck, he then flung the mage towards the mountains, where nobody would find him right away.

- - - - -

Black, we're not sure if that's such a good idea...
But if you're going to do it, we'll try and help you. Blinky and Tim are busy helping Daphne though...

When Black moved away from Galantros, the reaper unconsciously grasped for the kitsune, muttering something unintelligible in his injured state, though it sounded like he was worried.
PostPosted: Wed Nov 28, 2007 5:27 pm
The voices in Daphne's head egged her on but something else was there. She felt it even before the new voices spoke. They sounded familiar. Tim...Blinky...was what popped into her mind. Thank you so much. She looked up from where she sat in Cian's arms. He refused to let go of her...she had been quietly trying to convince him to do so for the last few minutes. He wouldn't...something about keeping her safe. Daphne's eyes caught Black's. "Don't do it." She said quietly. Somehow she guessed why Black moved away from Galantros. She suddenly turned wise in these past hours. Gone was the carefree self...maybe it had something to do with the voices in her head. How hilarious. She heard voices. Anyway, she looked deep into Black's eyes. "THoR can't loose you both if something has happened...plus she-she told us to stay put." Her voice was soft and she avoided names, knowing Black--or anyone else who could see that there were usually only three females around and two of them sat here--would understand.

Cian stayed quiet but unyielding in his grasp on Daphne. He didn't want to lose her. From all of his years, he knew what the little Kitsune planned as well. "I've never seen a vampire quiet as strong." He commented, "And think of my age, Black. It is rare. Those two have something strong in them. They'll pull through. But you need to stay here. If not for Daphne and my sake if these demons push through and find us, then for Sephiroth and Galantros. We can try to push them off but I doubt it would be very effective if it were large amounts."

"She didn't say that... she said to use this to escape if you can..." BlackMN sighed as she sat next to GL again. They where right. "I can't leave anyways...Rosemary put those darn ribbons on me that prevents me from using my abilities... I can't take them off, but someone else could."

--------

The mage was actually going to do something drastic in his death! "The mages still have that death spell I told you about!" She warned the others bellow. She then removed Ruin's arms from his boiling body to get them to release her.

She soon realized that whatever he had poked her with had something in it that made her as if a normal vampire in day: unable to transform into anything and unable to really use any of her special abilities beyond the surface.

She smelled so much of blood, especially of that mage's, that it distracted her and almost made her forget about everything else. As she was about to pull out the knife from her side, her leg was hit and she quickly used her shield to block the explosion from doing too much real damage.

Her body of tossed aside from the force. She now discovered that she was growing too tired from everything to really do much. Darn...Ruin's gun was out of reach. She licked her lips and pulled the annoying dagger out of her. She thought it was a pity she didn't get to torture the mage more.

They were too much like snakes...need to get it over with quickly if you do kill them otherwise they were deadly... it would have been fun to play with him though... too bad there were the other mages and that demon around. Why wasn't it dead yet? In the distance she heard bombs going off. Her body worked to stop the bleeding in the stump. A tendril then wrapped itself around one of her arms. She was already barely able to keep her eyes open and the draining tendril didn't help either. She stabbed it with the bloody toxic dagger before that hand was grabbed as well.

PostPosted: Thu Nov 29, 2007 11:48 pm
Torment flinched, but his grasp didn't ease up. A tendril tore out the dagger, and more came to bind up Rosemary. The mage muttered a spell under his breathe, removing most of the poison's affects... the rest would taken care of by his heavily resistant body in no time.

Scouring the area carefully due to the landmines planted, the mages were unable to find the others. They gave up after a while, and dragged Rosemary back to the graveyard with them.

As she was slammed forcefully into that soul-sapping organic structure, she saw the extent of what Veni had suffered... almost over an hour in the sun had burned him badly. A black hunter came up to them with a child in it's grasp. It dug it's claws into Veni's shoulder and shoved him aside into the shaded area, making room for the small child.

The large demon mage, Bane, approached Rosemary then, using one of it's sharp claws to tilt her head up to it's grotesque face. He demanded to know where the others were hiding. When she refused several times, a special demon was summoned. It resembled a large floating eye creature with a spine for a tail... in fact, it was a type of demon Rosemary had seen before, a psychic creature that Jacob had over during one of their holiday meals, making everyone do silly things such as dance. It was likely it wouldn't be doing such parlor tricks this time though. The demon floated in front of her face, staring at her in a disturbing manner. It tried to telepathically bore it's way into Rosemary's mind a number of times, but she was able to resist it.

Bane: "If that's the way you want it, fine then. Tear through her mind, but keep it mostly in tact."

To Rosemary's horror, the thing floated behind her, it's tail lifting into the air. It then drove down like a spike, stabbing into the back of her head, cleanly piercing flesh and skull, and strange small tendrils writhing themselves deep into the center of her brain. The thing ripped through her thoughts and memories mercilessly, searching everywhere, literarlly moving throughout her mind until it found the information it seeked. It unsheathed itself from Rosemary's head, blood and brain matter dripping from it's mouth-like tail end. Finished with it's task, the creature spoke of the others' location to Torment and Bane.

"You all should leave now." She thought as they dragged her off.

"Come let's go... mages have a way of getting information out of people even if they don't talk." BlackMN made herself look like a Super Kid of sorts as she picked up Galantros easily and started to travel the path to the ocean exit of the underground cave... truth was that reapers were extremely light when they weren't conscious. "Can you guys remove these ribbons soon in case something happens?"

------

When they emerged into the graveyard with Rosemary, Veni didn't acknowledge it. It was hard to tell if he had his eyes closed, was blind from the sun, or a combination of both. He was very bad off. The structure's bindings were the only things holding him up at this point.

He didn't even seem to notice her when they put her on the wall. Barely awake, dieing. The vampire made a cat like growling nose and flexed his fingers as if he'd much like to swipe at the creature that had given him yet another scratch, but that seemed to be all the half baked nosferatu could manage.

Rosemary for the most part remained silent and didn't talk at all when demanded to reveal where the others were hiding. Not until she made pained noises from her head injury did he realize she was there. He recognized that voice as one of his own and looked towards her, but didn't say anything. He didn't like that one of his kids was hurt, but he wasn't exactly in his right mind at the moment to be extremely bothered by it. His more human-like/intelligent state of being had left him a while ago.

Rosemary on the other hand lost her vision not due to the sunlight but because that part of her brain was damaged due to the huge hole in the back of her head. It created the worst headache ever and she felt almost as violated as she did when the machine sifted through her memories on the Niearcim world. She felt like she would pass out and did once it was finished.

Daphne and Cian nodded in tune with one another. Cian stood, bringing Daphne up with him. It was when he looked about himself that he realized the other unconscious body in the room. He sighed. Cian had to let go of her, finally, reluctantly. He needed to carry Sephiroth, "Are you okay holding Galantros?" He asked the small host. Sephiroth was not too heavy, for Cian's vampiric strength...he was actually very light. The unconscious man's silver hair slid down Cian's arms and the tips dragged lightly on the floor. "How do we get out?" He asked.

Daph's head jerked up from where she had been previously staring at the floor, "I could help you." She stated, helpfully. Her eyes glowing with a percieved task. She could be useful. Then she heard Black's request, "I can do that." She walked over to the small Kitsune and started to untie the ribbons, releasing Black's abilities. Soon, they were off. Daphne stuffed them into her pocket for safe keeping.

As the group neared the cave's exit, the 'pac-ghosts' inside Daphne and Black's heads seemed to grow uneasy. They felt something wasn't quite right, and wanted everyone to be wary. Being as careful as they could, by placing then incapacitated Sephiroth and Galantros down near the exit, the trio cautiously peered outside. After searching the area, they turned back to pick up their fallen friends.

Things went downhill from there.

A sudden, unseen force suddenly snatched Black up by her tails, effectively cutting her off from using most of her abilities. Another grabbed Daphnne by the arms and pulled back on her hair, making her drop her firearm. As soon as Cian noticed these events all happening at once, something grasped him by the face, and viciously slammed the back of his head against the cave wall, sending bits of rock flying from the impact. Finding that the vampire was still barely alert, the force slammed his head against the wall even harder.

The attack force finally revealed themselves as a group of black hunters. Claws were pressed against Daphne's and Black's necks after they appeared. A pair of the demons inspected Galantros and Sephiroth. Cruelly, one smacked Sephiroth's head against a rock to ensure he stayed unmoving. The other sliced a deep gash into Galantros' chest, causing him to bleed a great deal before the wound seal. The reaper protested weakly at first at the sudden injury, then seemed to lapse into his somewhat coma-like state again.
