The first anime I ever cried over I believe was Ruruoni Kensin when I thought he died and again watching the samurai X dvd's. That was followed closely by wolf's rain..ugh that was terrible for the heart strings.

The only Anime that ever made me cry was the very first anime I ever watched. It was a 1981 production of Swan Lake also called Hakucho no Mizumi. This anime still leaves an emotional impact on me, not just because of it's story but because of the beautiful music played by some famous Russian and Viennese symphonic orchestras as well as it's own vocal rendition of the Swan Lake suite which you can listen too HERE! If you ever decide to go watch this anime, be sure to get the version dubbed with the celebrity cast (the one with Chris Atkins) because the original one like the one currently on YouTube has super crappy voice acting.

"...All I want is a place to call my own, to mend all the hearts that feel alone..." Death Note, when L died. And Kingdom Hearts (video game) when Axel died. He was the greatest character to ever live. -Tears up-
"...Keep your hopes held high and your head down low, take it from me..."

I don't really cry through sad moments in Manga/Anime, I get so moved or upset that I get on the verge of tears, but I've never actually cried.
~ Times I got upset ~
~ When Maes Hughes died in FullMetal Alchemist (Anime) ~ ~ Towards the end of FullMoon (W)o Sageshite (Anime & Manga) ~ ~ *When L died in DeathNote (Anime & Manga) ~
~ Times when I've almost cried ~ ~ At the end of 'The Girl who Lept Through Time' ~ ~ Throughout 'Grave of the FireFlies', damn that movie is sad crying ~
*When I watched the episode of DeathNote when L died, I ended being depressed for two days, I couldn't even focus on my college work because of it xD *

Ususally for me it's when main characters die, such as FMA when Hughes died.
Recently though, I just watched Romeo X Juliet, I cried when Romeo died D=

The Eureka 7 manga and anime both made me cry buckets for the bittersweet ending. And the end of season 1 of Gundam00 when Lockon died...
